Loved this issue. It kind of put the reason of why Dr Manhattan didn't kill marionette and mime back into question. She(and us) believed it was because she was pregnant, however we forget the Dr M can see an entire person's life so you have to wonder what(if anything) did he notice that let them spare them. One could argue that it was through them that Dr M became aware of the DC universe since they would go there. Also I'm 99% sure Batman is aware enough of what is going on around him and is faking just how out of it he is. 75% sure joker knows he's faking and just wants to see what happens next.
Usually I'm all for your reviews. However, it feels like you rushed through reading this issue to get the video out. There are a few things that you may have perceived wrong: 1.) Marionette's father didn't run Maez Glass. I know someone must have mentioned that before me. But really? Why would he name a puppet shop Maez Glass? 2.) It didn’t baffle anyone but the Joker when he shot his own guy in the head. The Joker simply missed when he was trying to shoot Mime. 3.) The Riddler wasn't trying to form a villain super league. They were all meeting up (Riddler was trying to run the narrative of the meeting) to discuss fleeing to Kahndaq because of the offer of "Sanctuary" from Black Adam. 4.) Typhoon is clearly not a rework of Dr. Manhattan. Yes, they both have blue skin. End of similarities. Then you talk yourself into a full circle of why Dr. Manhattan would dress up as Typhoon. All while not even mentioning Typhoon (and Moonstone, both primarily Firestorm villains) as a covert government agent. The other villains didn’t think Typhoon was “Too small time and didn’t need to be there”. Killer Frost mentioned in a TV interview that Typhoon was created by the government, all supporting the “Superman Theory”. 5.) Marcos’ mom didn’t “essentially fall down a fire escape and that was the end of her”. The crooked cops threw her down it and murdered her. 6.) You were missing the point that Mime was trying to sacrifice himself so that Marionette could escape, much like her father did. No disrespect to you or your followers, I just felt this on was a little all over the place.

Didn't finish vid, but I have to agree with your slip-up in saying the "conversation between Dr.Manhat and Supes." I think Supes could recognize he's out classed immediately and pull out the only magic he does of diplomancy. Prof. Bigapple is a being of cold logic and rationale, which means he can be negotiated with.
Joker "accidentally" shooting one of his own guys seems like a bit of ominous foreshadowing. They're terrible people, but I don't want to see Mime and Marionette go away.

So Yeah... this is going to be an interesting journey to Doomsday Clock if DC ever leads their current comics to it.

I really like this story but I'm not up-to-date on it. I have a theory about where it's going though: The clock is counting down to the superman symbol, but that doesn't mean it's necessarily counting down to a Superman vs. Dr. Manhattan battle. The premise of the series is that the source wall is breaking apart and at last check Superboy Prime is imprisoned there. I'm wondering if this isn't building to the re-emergence of Prime. Since Prime has spent so much time "out of continuity" (i.e. when major ret-cons happen the character is not effected), their power level is much higher than many of the other DC heroes. Maybe the whole countdown is building to another Prime - DC universe conflict and whatever role Dr. Manhattan is playing in this. (Edit = grammar)

I can understand that, while not every two months, Watchmen ran for year before it was completed. A lot of people don't remember that because almost right after it ran, it was released in a TPB, so the story was available to read in full almost right after the series was done. And my issue isn't really people wanting it to come faster, its a good story, that'll happen. My issue, are those who are calling for action or saying "its not enough action, I want Superman to find Dr. Manhattan already so we can get to the action." Yea, Watchmen wasn't a "Action" type comic, Moore wanted it to be about the story, it was a caricature of the typical comic book, and Moore wanted to do away with those, hence how in the story all the typical comic book tropes were almost, I can't find the right word so I'll just say "made fun of" for now. With Doomsday Clock being the unauthorized direct sequel, and with them still wanting to respect Alan Moore's work, it simply doesnt make sense for John's to divert from the original. Thats all I'm saying. And if you're looking for action (not you specifically) then you're reading the wrong comic.
The Comedian trying to kill everyone reminds me of one of the first appearances of "Scourge of the Underworld" in Marvel comics, when he killed off a bunch of D-Lister Super-Villains in a similar manner

A theory 'bout the 3 jokers I have is that the three jokers are a thing created from flashpoint & the jokers are: 1.- the Scott Snyder's (blue, green eyed and trapped in the bat-cave) run joker 2.- the silly pre-crisis, doomsday clock joker 3.- the post-crisis, serious, deathly joker (the one from Tom King's run)

Here is my theory on Doomsday Clock in terms of who Doctor Manhattan is impersonating. I think that Doctor Manhttan is Snapper Carr who was an honorary member of the JLA since the team debuted in Brave And The Bold Issue 28. Lex Luthor already deduced that whoever coined the Supermen Theory is not only a metahuman but at one point has been a member of the Justice League. In New Earth Continuity, Snapper was a metahuman who could teleport with the snap of his fingers. This idea was introduced during The Invasion storyline during 1989 which was referenced in the back matter of Doomsday Clock issue 2. I also feel like Geoff Johns, as much as he is a nostalgic comic book writer, would not pass up an opportunity to on hearken back to a forgotten character who has been with the JLA since its conception during the silver age of comics.
Kudos to the artist, that was actually a great visual of her dad hanging with the marionettes in the background. It's like her dad was one of them.

Mime and Marionette have quickly become some of my favorite Villains recently and these types of background stories only reinforce that. I am scared that they will end up getting killed by the end of Doomsday Clock or sent back to the Watchmen universe where we'll never hear from them again. Hope they stick around.

THANK YOU, ROB. I dont understand how people dont see what Johns is doing in giving us the backstory of new creations ie, The New Rorscach and Mime & Marionette. All I've heard so far in regards to every issue since #4, is how the story is too slow, and theres no action. As if this isnt the unauthorized sequel to the Watchmen. Great vid.
Chayse Green because the story moving at a snail's pace and to add to that it been coming out every two months I be suprise every time a new issue comes out because I completely forget doomsday clock is going on and it now it turning into about this Superman theory then it is about finding doctor Manhattan
I can understand that, while not every two months, Watchmen ran for year before it was completed. A lot of people don't remember that because almost right after it ran, it was released in a TPB, so the story was available to read in full almost right after the series was done. And my issue isn't really people wanting it to come faster, its a good story, that'll happen. My issue, are those who are calling for action or saying "its not enough action, I want Superman to find Dr. Manhattan already so we can get to the action." Yea, Watchmen wasn't a "Action" type comic, Moore wanted it to be about the story, it was a caricature of the typical comic book, and Moore wanted to do away with those, hence how in the story all the typical comic book tropes were almost, I can't find the right word so I'll just say "made fun of" for now. With Doomsday Clock being the unauthorized direct sequel, and with them still wanting to respect Alan Moore's work, it simply doesnt make sense for John's to divert from the original. Thats all I'm saying. And if you're looking for action (not you specifically) then you're reading the wrong comic.

The Comedian trying to kill everyone reminds me of one of the first appearances of "Scourge of the Underworld" in Marvel comics, when he killed off a bunch of D-Lister Super-Villains in a similar manner

A theory 'bout the 3 jokers I have is that the three jokers are a thing created from flashpoint & the jokers are:
1.- the Scott Snyder's (blue, green eyed and trapped in the bat-cave) run joker
2.- the silly pre-crisis, doomsday clock joker
3.- the post-crisis, serious, deathly joker (the one from Tom King's run)

Its like the Comedian is acting like a sentinel based on his interactions with Ozymandias and the other Watchmen characters. Shout out to Batman wearing one of his older costumes lol :)
Here is my theory on Doomsday Clock in terms of who Doctor Manhattan is impersonating. I think that Doctor Manhttan is Snapper Carr who was an honorary member of the JLA since the team debuted in Brave And The Bold Issue 28. Lex Luthor already deduced that whoever coined the Supermen Theory is not only a metahuman but at one point has been a member of the Justice League. In New Earth Continuity, Snapper was a metahuman who could teleport with the snap of his fingers. This idea was introduced during The Invasion storyline during 1989 which was referenced in the back matter of Doomsday Clock issue 2. I also feel like Geoff Johns, as much as he is a nostalgic comic book writer, would not pass up an opportunity to on hearken back to a forgotten character who has been with the JLA since its conception during the silver age of comics.
