Personally I wasn’t really a fan of the death of the Kent’s its basically a ripoff of Batman origin story which in my opinion doesn’t really work for Superman
i can see where you are coming from with this idea but personally for me i am more of a fan of both kents or at least ma kent being alive instead of both of them being dead because what made superman and batman different and unique was that bruce wayne lost his parents in a mugging while Clark kents parents were alive and well taught clark how to use his powers responsibly and not for selfish gains, plus having both the kents being dead just seems like a poor attempt to make superman like batman which personally in my opinion doesn't work for superman.

In the main Superman universe, Martha was never killed off until the New 52. We don't get to say goodbye to her untill now. Im glad that they kept Mr. Kent alive untill a few years ago with that Braniac story. And I feel the Kent's should never have to die. They should still be alive. I hope that they're brought back by the end of this story arch.
Jericho was fucking fantastic, I don't know why it was cancelled after two seasons. As a Texan I appreciated that independent Texas was the deciding factor of who would win the war.
This first issue beautifully addresses the major problem that I had with the original Watchmen Comic; Ozymandias' plan was unforgivably evil and it always bugged me how he practically got away with it, it's just so rewarding seeing all of his plans go up in smoke. He tried to justify mass murder for "the greater good", and as a consequence he made everything in his world worse. Showing how arrogant and naive he was, yet still keeping to the theme where he thinks he's still the hero when he's always been the villain. Everything that has happened in his Universe, is his fault. Ozymandias may have brought some form of peace to his world for a time, but he's undeniably the same man who has brought his own world to ruin.
I had picked this up Saturday. This is just Beautiful, fluid, Organic Storytelling. I LOVED this start. I've been waiting for like a Decade for the Watchmen to enter into the DC Universe. Since like a year-and-a-half ago, I have wondered who is gonna stop Doctor Manhattan. I've had one real question this entire time, "How they gonna bring back my dawg, Rorschach?!"

His memories are closer to Golden Age, but only some parts of the personality work with that--the rest work with a more Modern-Post-Silver-Age mentality. So you have to ask: How does this Superman, now, stand for Hope, Truth, Justice, etc.? It's an interesting way to get right to the point. In other news? There goes Ozymandias again, on the edge of death from cancer and the end of the world, trying to _manipulate_ his way back into "being a hero" again. And why would he need puppeteers to do that? As for Rorschach 2.0? I have a hunch about this guy, but we'll see. The main thing I get here is that "Rorschach" as person matters way less than "Rorschach" as mentality. The Watchman is now a mask and an ideology. A dialect that parses code into the brain of a host until said host gets good at breaking faces and hands. With any other anti-hero I'd be okay with some legacy action happening (especially if it's who I think it is, under the mask), but the problem is that this kept "Rorschach" feels a lot like a derivative take, if not a transparent critique, of the whole V For Vendetta/Anonymous Phenomenon. Geoff Johns is saying Rorschach is that iconic, that if nothing else he's a contagious personality disorder and you can't be rid of it now. I don't know how well that works outside of a very small handful of superheroes. You can have Batman show up: you can have someone else pick up the cape and cowl and become Batman. Hell, you can point back to historical examples of others who were also in their own ways, Batman, well before Finger and Kane even showed up on Earth. But this doesn't work with others in the Batman mold. If you try pulling that nonsense with oh, Moon Knight, people look at you like you're retarded, because Moon Knight isn't THAT much of a legend, that it transcends the one guy. Any fool on TH-cam can attempt to be Iron Fist, poorly: but you can't mess it up with Batman. People will know. Likewise, people will get it that this "Rorschach" is different, and eventually find out, among other things, that he's a sellout to the guy who whacked The Comedian in the first place. I am hoping against hope that there's a better payoff for this than the obvious, "Well, you're not the REAL Rorschach, since when do you matter?" moment. That there's a reason why someone would pick up THAT mask and THAT dialect.
I actually really liked the first issue Shame that some people rejected it because they thought it was offensive to the original source material. Which is funny because I thought this one issue alone was better than all of before watchman.

MANHATTAN after Watchmen ended up traveling to the DC universe and has messed with the timeline causing the New 52 after Flash Makeing an opening for him to do so during Flashpoint basically he wanted to remake the universe like his own one without hope because he thinks the more fantasy like DC shouldn't exist that all worlds need to be realistic like his own. Manhattan is playing God with the DC universe while his own is in desperate need of his help. This story is one of Hope vs Dispare where it will go is anyone's guess
My favorite thing about Doomsday Clock #1 is the Baby Bubastis Ozy is holding. It makes me happy!! Ps I AM REALLY EXCITED FOR THE NEXT ISSUE!! I LOVED THR ORIGINAL WATCHMEN AND CANT WAIT TO SEE WHERE THE DC TAKES IT. VERY NICE VIDEO BTW.

Very nice. This book was sold out at my local shop the same day. I was lucky the owner had one off to the side he hooked me up with. Feels nice since he always has a copy of punisher platoon for me when I come in for new comics.
I know I'm late to this and Rob probably won't see it but Superman was reading the book Walden Two. Something like that isn't a red herring and it's why I appreciate Geoff Johns writing so much. The book Walden Two is all about creating a perfect person or perfect society just by changing a few key things about their past. Jonathan Kent mentions "this is all part of God's plan". Seeing Walden Two and Jonathan Kent say that means that Doctor Manhattan arranged the death of Superman's parents to create his ideal version of Superman. Why? I don't know and I very well be wrong but it's what I'm insinuating and I hope Rob sees this and may consider this as a possibility.

I used to love that intro music. Yeah it was someone that sold Rob the rights and then when Rob's channel starting garnering a bigger following the dude got greedy.. it just got really muddy and Rob had to re-record *all* of his videos.

Marvel's Legacy Storyline is like the comic book equivalent of the DCEU trying to catch up to the MCU.
The beauty of the Watchmen, is it tells the truth of humanity that most people are afraid to admit. Rorschach is probably Night Owl, he probably lost all hope when humanity imploded and took up the mantle of his friend.

I kinda liked what they did with I Rorschach, and it keeps the same logic of the original Watchmen. When the first Nite Owl retired, Dan took over the mantle, hence Nite Owl 2 and the same with Silk Spectre 2. I Consider this Rorschach 2, someone else taking up the mantle of the character. Very Watchmen-esque and it just fits the universe

Very nice. This book was sold out at my local shop the same day. I was lucky the owner had one off to the side he hooked me up with. Feels nice since he always has a copy of punisher platoon for me when I come in for new comics.

I know I'm late to this and Rob probably won't see it but Superman was reading the book Walden Two. Something like that isn't a red herring and it's why I appreciate Geoff Johns writing so much. The book Walden Two is all about creating a perfect person or perfect society just by changing a few key things about their past. Jonathan Kent mentions "this is all part of God's plan". Seeing Walden Two and Jonathan Kent say that means that Doctor Manhattan arranged the death of Superman's parents to create his ideal version of Superman. Why? I don't know and I very well be wrong but it's what I'm insinuating and I hope Rob sees this and may consider this as a possibility.

It wasn't until they got to the hideout when Rob said "it's not actually Rorschasch", well, we know that BEFORE we got there, and the black Rorschasch was apparently a big deal for this issue, from Johns himself.
I'm glad one comic got a perfect movie counter part.

Doctor Sam Grant Morrison is a much better writer than Johns. Johns is good, but morrison is in a whole different league

I used to love that intro music. Yeah it was someone that sold Rob the rights and then when Rob's channel starting garnering a bigger following the dude got greedy.. it just got really muddy and Rob had to re-record *all* of his videos.

DC has been KILLIN IT IN the year 2017! Marvel's Legacy Storyline is like the comic book equivalent of the DCEU trying to catch up to the MCU.
The beauty of the Watchmen, is it tells the truth of humanity that most people are afraid to admit. Rorschach is probably Night Owl, he probably lost all hope when humanity imploded and took up the mantle of his friend.
Remember the Superman effigy in the Watchmen movie? When I saw that I did scratch my head for a second.
Who's the new Rorshach? That's my number question and this is one of the best comicbook storylines out there.

I kinda liked what they did with I Rorschach, and it keeps the same logic of the original Watchmen. When the first Nite Owl retired, Dan took over the mantle, hence Nite Owl 2 and the same with Silk Spectre 2. I Consider this Rorschach 2, someone else taking up the mantle of the character. Very Watchmen-esque and it just fits the universe

Probably not, but when crazy twists come my money is on the new Rorschach being either the alternative Superman, or similarly another well known character. I’d go with Bruce Wayne given the similarities but who knows?
