    the psychological complexity and philosophical debates in watchmen, is one of the reasons it stands the test of time, Alan moore managed to raise the bar for the comic book medium at that time, even though some people didnt learned the good lessons from that book. I am really hoping to see how in doomsday clock, this differences in views will be handled, since the dcu has very significant different views , and it would make a great story if they are contrasted properly. kudos for the video.

    • @drhanzo91
      @drhanzo91 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Totally agree with you. Imagine if they could get Alan to write a prequel or a sequel. But it is what it is. Hope Johns and Frank studied watchmen and deliver a well thoughtout story.

    • @tikotribe
      @tikotribe 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Indeed. It's basically Walter Smith: 'kovacs' (kovács to be precise) simply means 'smith' in hungarian - which really surprised me when I first read Watchmen. I'd love to find out how Alan Moore got the inspiration for the character.

      Balloushop13 watchem its a great story but the characters arent made to be good characters ( in the good category of doing good not in the good story telling way, in that way they are all great), the only maybe good persons in this story are the bystandars like the kid who reads the pirate comics

    • @Eudaimonia239
      @Eudaimonia239 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      matias Neptuniano agree they are good characters but not good heroes, thats was the point of watchmen that many people didnt get, how scary would be to have this people running the show.

    Making Malcolm Long’s son the 2nd Rorsach is genius writing. Because malcolm long and rorsach were polar opposites.
    But rorsach by the end influenced malcolm so much that malcolm was developing the same perspective that rorsach had. Very cool writing

  • @SlipperyPeteClassic
    @SlipperyPeteClassic 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The Kitty Genovese murder is something that really happened in the 60's. Moore used a real life example of how shitty and indifferent people can be when it comes to the suffering of others to show how someone like Rorschach can be born.

      hard question,
      blue, not a chance since he has lost all hope in humanity
      pink, dont think so since he has never experienced love and thus does not know how to channel the emotion
      red, no because he is not angry, just dissapointed
      orange, nope because he is not greedy
      indigo, idk he doesnt seem to be a compassionate person so probably not
      yellow, possibly but for the same reason batman does not have a yellow ring he probably wont
      willpower, possibly but for the same reason batman does not have a green ring he probably wont
      he uses fear but he has strong willpower to 'stem the tides' in a war that he already knows is lost, similar to how batman uses fear but has strong willpower to not cross the line and kill villains he knows are irredeemable.

      The Emperor Joker Omega Level video covers this. In the comic Mxyzptlk thought what if I give Joker 1% of my power and then Joker tricked him into revealing his real name and got 99% of Mxyzptlk power. It just shows how powerless the heroes would be if Mxyzptlk didn’t choose to be a goofy prankster

For example i have a question on the vid u did about dr manhattan vs dr strange and said there seems to be no magic in watchmen that's why he would lose, but i believe the character Edgar Jacobi has magical powers. ultimately is he using real magic?

    Rorschach = Solidsnake

    Silk Spectre = Batgirl (Batman TAS)

    12:30 You skipped a step. Doctors know what the original healthy state of a human is, because they studied it, from there they can find out what is wrong with the patient. They seek to restore a person's health. You can't do that without knowing what the ideal or close to ideal state is. Chaos would be normal if there was no underlying concept of order.

    Genovese ran toward the front of the building, and Moseley ran after her, overtook her, and stabbed her twice in the back. Genovese screamed, "Oh my God, he stabbed me! Help me!" Several neighbors heard her cry, but only a few of them recognized the sound as a cry for help. When Robert Mozer, one of the neighbors, shouted at the attacker, "Let that girl alone!"[21] Moseley ran away and Genovese slowly made her way toward the rear entrance of the building,[7] seriously injured and out of view of any witnesses.[21]
    Witnesses saw Moseley enter his car, drive away, and return ten minutes later. Shadowing his face with a wide-brimmed hat, he systematically searched the parking lot, the train station, and an apartment complex, eventually finding Genovese, who was barely conscious and lying in a hallway at the back of the building, where a locked door had prevented her from going inside.[11] Out of view of the street and of those who may have heard or seen any sign of the initial attack, Moseley stabbed Genovese several more times before raping her, stealing $49 from her, and running away again.[21] The attacks spanned approximately half an hour, and knife wounds in Genovese's hands suggested that she attempted to defend herself from him. A neighbor, Sophia Farrar, found her shortly after and held her in her arms.[22]
