    Had a lot of fun with this today. I just sang a middle C note and held it for about 20 sec. Normalized it. Changed the Amp attack up some, lowered the octave one on my keyboard, and added some reverb. And I could get a pretty close rendition of 10cc intro sound for I'm Not In Love song, where they spent 3 weeks recording every vocal note and using a separate track for 16 tracks to blend chord sounds of vocals. Now with Sample One, the one vocal C recorded and mapping it across the keyboard, and I essentially have that intro sound. Cool.

    Can't believe i never use it. I realized later that the Audio (Mike) Recording via Sample One is now a Midi File, what makes it so easy to work on it. I recorded just one Note from my new Flute. Great, and so much fun. Danke

    That reverb sounds sick. I only wish that functions Fade In and Fade Out will be added in SampleOne in future update. Otherwise i can't remove the clicks and pops at the start/end of a sample. That's the reason why i prefer third-party samplers in S1

    When you map out the note across the keys, do they maintain the same note length (i.e. are they time-stretched), or do the higher notes get shorter and lower notes get get longer?

    That is a really nice reverb. Is there a way to record mutes in Studio One? Thanks Gregor!

    • @presonus
      @presonus  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, you can automate the mute-state of any Channel - either with your mouse, or in real-time with a MIDI Controller. To do so, simply right-click the mute button of any Channel and select "Edit Automation 'Mute'". To record Automation in real-time using a MIDI Controller, set the newly added Automation Track to "Write", "Touch", or "Latch". Once you're done, set the Automation Track back to "Read".
      Hope this helps! -GBY

      @@presonus thanks Gregor, my favorite S1 instructor. I’ve recently been using MPC and love the track mute feature and would love to do that in S1 also. I still love making beats in S1 and being able to record mutes will be great. I tried recording mutes in track but not channels. Thanks for responding as always.

    Does it detect key automatically ?

  • @jamesconraadtucker
    @jamesconraadtucker 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You don't even need to set your start point of the sample. You can set a gate threshold in Sample One, and the start will automatically be set. I use Sample One a lot for many of my instruments from classical guitar, to my Fender P bass. It's super easy and fast, and as Gregor points out, create your own sounds when presets won't cut it.

    Gregor, I can't find my answer anywhere on ya'lls video tutorials so this is the best way to reach out to you for me at the moment cuz I don't know how to reach you. I imported a MP3 song I recorded to a new record and mix template. I know the song is 68 BPM
    and the template is set for 120 BPM so when I go to change the tempo down below, it time stretches the original!!!
    even when I establish the tempo before I load the template, it still stretches the recording. I want to adjust the tempo without affecting the recording of the MP3. my inspector window has no tempo or time stretch option. By the way this behavior only recently started, I never had this problem with MP4s

    • @GamerGriaBros
      @GamerGriaBros 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This might help! Click the audio click in your arrangement, then press F4 to bring up the track settings which will be a strip on the left side of your screen. In the top section of the strip, you'll see "FOLLOW TEMPO". If it's highlighted in blue then click it to turn it off. StudioOne will now play the clip without any time stretching. Let me know if this helps.

    • @presonus
      @presonus  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there, please make sure that your Audio Tracks are not set to Tempo "Timestretch" in the Track Inspector (F4 key to open) at the top left. They must be set to either "Don't Follow" or "Follow" if you want the audio to play at its original tempo instead of the Song tempo. If you'd like this to be the default behavior for all newly created Audio Tracks in your Song, then you can change this in the Song Setup: capture.dropbox.com/l1FjqhRmYADYcwJo
      If you want to pre-audition Audio Files without any time-stretching to the set Song Tempo from the Browser, make sure that the Metronome icon is not activated (= blue): capture.dropbox.com/C0StDx38Pq9gWXjE
      Hope this helps! -GBY

    • @MaPaPir

      I figured that too. But to record directly and whistle a c note pitch perfect into sample one is not so easy. Is there a simple way to tune the audio after the recording?@@ImNotQualifiedToSayThisBut

    • @ApexErich
      @ApexErich 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was wondering the same thing. Does Sample One auto pitch the sound so when you play a C note it's pitched to C regardless of the original pitch of the sample sound?

    • @tonyaston5731
      @tonyaston5731 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm pretty new to this. I sampled a "gong" sound off a metal water bottle which was off key but I added a tuner to the track and dialed it into C with the calibration knob and then saved the track preset..

    • @tonyaston5731
      @tonyaston5731 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just to note I had adjusted the Root in Sample 1 to get the sample close to the Key note before using the Tuner Calibration to fine tune.

    The samplers need a major update, it’s ridiculous (SERATO SAMPLER, REASON MIMIC, LOGIC SAMPLER. We don’t need a new synth or etc we need the sampler to have manual slicing (120 slices) scale and key lock on the sampler. I love S1 but this is ridiculous
