I am quite ashamed to admit that even though I've played Skyrim for 355 hours (at leas according to Steam), I never knew Paragon Portals existed.
Same man.
Same amount of time over 2 playthroughs and same sad realisation. Although now I'm over level 85 the loot must be insane...
I have about 600 hours, i found one of them but never knew what to do with them
Edit: and ironically it was the ruby paragon the hardest one I just stumbled upon it randomly

Pherion this is not that bad of a drinking game. Try the: Polecat GTAV DOJ Role Play Drinking Game. When Polecat says, "seems legit" take a shot.
I did that and I passed out drunk and for some reason ordered a Large Deep Dish Pineapple Pizza with Dr.Pepper,ice cream,and bread sticks. I had food for my hangover.

there should have been a branch off the Merchant Perk that allows you to sell items at face value.
sadly console users have to put up with the paltry gold they hold while pc users can mod the merchants with any amount they want (exception to that rule is special edition on ps4 & xbox one)

You can use the alchemy loop exploit to create a potion of enchanting then enchant (barter) something 500%, also fully upgrade the speech skill to get face value on console
Something I think most people miss - where you get the emerald paragon, at the top of the rock spire (you have to jump climb) there is a reference to LOTR - a hand sticking out of the rock with a gold ring in is palm - Golum

Dremora merchant in the Dragonborn DLC has 2000 gold, it refreshes every day.
PennPug Yup now I know that,I commented before I actually got that perk. Still a little annoying when you're trying to sell off diamonds or large amounts of gems tho
Make a treasure room in your house
yes they are a pain to sell, they are great to dupe but it's hard to offload them to merchants. I think one time I duped around 200 of them, sold and killed the merchant 200 times to sell them all, i haven't tried it again for obvious reasons lol was a real pain too.
You could also get the Master Trader perk. Any trader you invest in gets 1000 gold after you do some sort of bartering with them.

I gotta admit. I have played Skyrim since 2013. I have finished the Dawnguard a few times and I am tired of slaying Alduin. But I had NEVER heard anything about this paragons. That's why we love you Cammel! Keep it up!

Yes, I love Solstheim, but the main quest is not that great. The lore is what I love the most of TES
Joserph Martinz I haven't played since 2015 and recently bought Skyrim SE. Great to be back in the game. Level 25 Wood Elf. Figured it is a good time to go back through the quest of Dragonborn. How much I have missed this map. The lore, the sights and the enemies to battle.

The sapphire stone leads to the room where you'll have your final boss fight against the snow elf. You can look out of a window and see all the frozen falmer.
I've found 2 or 3 of these paragons in each of my 3 playthroughs and NEVER! Knew what they were for. Great video!

It´s probably because it´s the dlc areas and especialy the forgotten vale, which don´t have to be visited often.

In the room with the Frost Giant in the Inner Sanctum there are two chests, transfer the ewer from the front door to the shrine near the giant another door opens. Also 'staff of icy spear' held by a frozen Falmer in the main hall worth 2k+ 👍

i went through a "deep dive" of sorts through camel's videos and ended up here- i'll be honest, i happened across one of the paragons accidentally during the quest line and had absolutely no idea what it was for. i had 300+ hours logged on the save, not once did i even think it might have a use. thanks camel!
If you pause the video at 8:09, you will see another Uwer stand, which is a secret area that has a chest with other items. You will have to take the Uwer from the enterence, and run thru before it closes. Also, there is a shrine to Auriel in the center of the main chamber which grants 10% missile damage for 11 hours.
I thought that was pretty funny considering there's not a single "missle" in Skyrim (unless it's referring to some sort of projectile idk about". 😂

After playing this game for many hours and many times over, the Vale is still my favorite area in the game. The art, layout and expanse and the loot is great. The fights with the giants and the Snow Elf king and his army are a lot of fun.
It’s so mysterious and well designed. So much underlying treasure and different things to discover

This is especially profitable if you have already restored the Crown of Barenziah with the thieves' guild, as you will get bonus gems in all the chests.

I'm 21, been playing Skyrim regularly since I was 16 and this is THE FIRST TIME I hear of the forgotten vale. This is why I love the Elder Scrolls. There's ALWAYS MORE and it's all AMAZING.

I literally died when you explained the Ruby Paragon. Oddly enough, the only one I ever found (played 4 diff characters) was the Ruby one and I never looked into it until now.

I've only ever found the ruby paragon and that's cuz I bumped into the shrine fighting frozen Falmer and thought "weird" but it would be awesome if there was like another paragon (maybe Ebony or something) that when used on the portal, took you to a secret room or place where you needed all 5 paragons to get like an ultimate treasure. Idk, seems like a cool idea for me

Hey Camel! i don't know if you have a copy or not but the Prima Skyrim legendary edition guide has an excellent map with it and while it's likely a trademark/legal thingy to use it i think it would enhance your guides to no end if you could wrangle it.

I have 3 of these decorating shelves in breezehome and had no idea what they were used for.

Don’t forget that in the room with the ruby frost giant there’s another altar that requires the Initiates Ewer that has a small amount of loot

Don't forget to take the vessel back in the inner sanctum, need it for the side alter in with the Ruby Paragon location

The first jötunn I killed had Ebony gauntlets, too
Good thing I got the Aetherium Crown with the Steed Stone locked in, plus I can sell anything to anyone and increased Faceman awesomeness with the opposite sex
And I got Serana to carry my stuff, too
At this point, I'm well over 200k gold, and, honestly, I don't need to get more gold, but... Deck the halls with holy shit! I'm gonna be swimming in gold hereafter!

I have never heard about these. How do you get the ruby once you finished the dawnguard questline?? I haven't tried it out which is why I'm asking.
Is it possible to get these items after you complete the questline touching the sky? I just went back there after a friend told me about these and started collecting them and I'm not sure how to get the last two since I don't have quest markers anymore
surprisingly, on my first play through, the ruby paragon was the only one i got. i think i thought it was the way to go for the quest, so i went through the passage instead. i killed the frost giant, and looted his corpse. eventually, i found my way to the end of the quest. but, i had no clue what the paragon was for, and sold it to belethor. rip me
But Camel, there are maps of the forgotten vale out there. You can use it to point out things, even if there's no in-game map.
I played dawnguard lots of time never knew about the paragons and shield il keep it in mind the next time i go to forgotten vale I just find the place confusing .

The ruby paragon has to be the easiest one to find, I didn't even know you could miss it until you mentioned it

Isn't floor loot like the gems always the same? I dunno i never pay enough attention to know if it is but most places seem to have the same stuff when i visit it with a different character.

Also fun fact touching the sky may be the most tedious quest you will ever see besides returning to you're roots
It sounds like most of the paragons are found at the bottom of waterfalls, one in a high cave and the other two you’ll bump into during your quest.
Seems like by the time you're in the Forgotten Vale 10-20k gold is worthless.
Kaine Peterson not really, if you jump straight to the main dragonborn quest and Then dawnguard you'll probably be around level 17 when you get to the vale. And 20k for a level 17 is super useful.

Particularly if you've finished the Thieves' Guild quest which awards you the Prowler's Profit power, which makes gem drops trivial. Or if you've leveled Alchemy to any degree, and made a ton of potions and sold 'em. Or if you've leveled Smithing or Enchanting and sold... You get the point. =^[.]^=
We can't go about killing the shell bugs but we can systematically annihilate the last five Frost Giants 😂

I found a ruby paragon on the giant that was supposed to have the saphire. I have all 4 expect the saphire and i have no idea where it is.

I only managed to pick up the Ruby Paragon, it just kinda sits in a chest in my house. Guess I'll have to go back lmao. I actually didn't know what that shrine was at first, I thought I was supposed to go that way, don't really check my map too much. 😥
*If you misplaced the water jug and cannot access the ruby paragon, DO NOT WORRY!* There is a trick where if you take a wooden plate and hold it against walls or doors with the lips of the plate facing you, you can sprint into the plate and glitch through the barricade. Now it most likely won't work instantly and you WILL NEED EXTRA PLATES as the plate doesn't come with you through the barrier or it may glitch through but not you. Hope this helped some of you! I lost my jug and couldn't find it anywhere across skryim and remembered this glitch. YOU MUST *SPRINT* INTO THE PLATE!
