This has to be one of my favorite quest of the game. Not so much for the reward, but the development of the quest itself. At 10:49 you can see a clue as to why the dwemer are now extinct. You have the knowledge to make giant mechanical robots but can't think far enough ahead to cover giant moving gears.
I wish there was a bow with the enchantment from the Atherial shield. One of my favorite spells in Dragon Age: Origins was the force shield spell, which made a single target unable to attack or be attacked for like 30 seconds. It was really, REALLY useful in fights where there was a swarm of melee fighters and one super powerful mage. You could just throw a force field on the mage, slaughter the weaker melee fighters, then you and your entire team could murder the mage pretty quickly once the timer ran out.
Staff is too buggy, If the mishap and summoning time were shorter, and it didn't mess with conjured helpers, it's be useful. it can raise a small amount of people in a 100 meter radius Mannimarco did that but over an entire continent, and raised an army big enough to challenge the armies of said continent
Mannimarco is weaksauce compared to ritual stone cheese with a field of dead people and animals (as far as I know, Ritual does not affect and is not affected by Conjuration summon cap).
Ritual Stone and Aetherial Crown is a cool combo. Instant dead army. Or if you don't mind glitching, quickly activate a standing stone and unequip the crown through quick menu and you have two standing stones active without wearing the crown. Lord and Atronach for example is a great combination, especially when you're a Breton.
27:13 if they can heal themselves then they can probably continue taking poison damage too, The shield works well with assassins and anyone else that uses poison
Steakee using the crown with the rite stones can give u +35% in what ever skill your focusing on. Being lvl 100 way faster is the best effect in the game.
i meant the effect on the aetherial shield is better than any enchantment (also it doesn't have a charge which is always nice) EDIT: also, levels don't really matter if you're not going for anything super specific that needs tons of perks to work
Steakee imho spell breaker is better, blocking spells, Dragon breath, shouts, poison spit, (and by blocking I mean completely nulfieing from the front) just seems more useful. Plus spell breaker is statistically the better shield with 38 base armor compared to the aetherial shields 26. The crown is by far the most generaly useful for the leveling reason and because there are at least 2 standing stones for each build (wanna be a tank? Grab atronach + lord stones).
I think the length of the aetherium shield bash depends on the NPC's magic resistance. It's been a few years so forgive me if I'm wrong, but magic resistance shortens the time of some spells/magic.
The shield is honestly pretty useful if you're fighting enemies that are kicking the shit out of you. Gives you a chance to heal or set up some rune spells to deal good damage once they're physical again
I've always found the story and character of Katria to be tragic. Helping her complete the quest and eventually taking revenge on Taron Dreth is very satisfying. BGS should have made it so if you complete this quest before finishing the main story, you actually get to meet Katria in Sovngarde. Great work as always Camel.
It’s always nice to wake up and see Camel drop another high quality video. I watched the Skyrim demo the other day again wish the finished game had to o g bleak falls barrow hehhe :) and coming out at white run looked soo good. Thanks again Camel. Is it E3 yet?
Technically if you have the ancient knowledge when you craft the aetherium staff the chances of its spawning a Dwarven spider or spear increases up to approximately 75% of the time. At least, that what experienced through my play through.
The Crown is completely broken. Basically, activate the standing stone that allows you to revive dead people once a day with the crown on and immediately take it off. Then, kill something(s). When they die off, reattach the crown and repeat the spell. Long story short, army of zombie giants that can take over Tamriel without you raising a finger.
The staff: Why you want to spawn a machine who makes a fucking hell of a noise?(dwemer sphere) shield: why do you want to make a enemy impossible to do damage but immune to damage? the crown: has uses for all the classes, allow more powers if you are a mage and has trouble with lockpicking (The atronach stone + The tower stone)if you are a heavly warrior and has trouble with carryweight ( the steed stone, and some other you think its more useful) No one wears helmet anyways
i...take the daggers off the people i kill, as trophies...except Falmor, Falmor i take the ears....always keep one from each Falmor...as a trophy....and briarhearts...never use em for alchemy....just as trophies from my victories... i may be a closet Serial Killer in Tamriel...
The thong that gets me is you're not just using the last etherium, you're using THE KEY TO THE FORGE to make, what, a nifty hat? A useless staff? Hope you like it...
Taron Dreth’s unique robes, although sharing their model with master robes, are actually enchanted to the same grade as apprentice level destruction robes Yeah, guys pretending he’s a master. But. He ain’t. He’s a cheat, a liar & a coward. His guards wouldn’t fight me when he commanded them to & passively watched as I tore his soul from his body. Then they calmly walked on. It gave me new respect for the programmers if that was a deliberately programmed moment. Not a well timed Classic bug.

Grab atronach + lord stones).
i forgot about spell breaker tbh
yeah spell breaker is probs the best shield in the game.
I think the length of the aetherium shield bash depends on the NPC's magic resistance. It's been a few years so forgive me if I'm wrong, but magic resistance shortens the time of some spells/magic.
The crown with the ritual stone on it and the Atronach stone connected to the player is usually my end game destruction/ conjuration mage result
The shield is honestly pretty useful if you're fighting enemies that are kicking the shit out of you. Gives you a chance to heal or set up some rune spells to deal good damage once they're physical again
I HAVENT WATCHED CAMEL IN MONTHS, LOW AND BEHOLD I SAW POSTED 1 MINUTE AGO MY LORD!
BG Hoody she is a Dark elf, I think only Nords go to soverngard
Kailob Moore 4:24 Katria is definitely not a dark elf. The intellectual property thief is, but why would you want to see him in Sovengarde?
Kailob Moore nah man she is a nord
this is my favorite quest in the entire game. i go for the crown every time, i had tried the sheild and staff but didnt like them as much
It’s always nice to wake up and see Camel drop another high quality video. I watched the Skyrim demo the other day again wish the finished game had to o g bleak falls barrow hehhe :) and coming out at white run looked soo good. Thanks again Camel. Is it E3 yet?
15:07 that spinning move though😂😂😂 could say it was rather dashing.
“Wow, that creepy voice sounds familiar… Oh my goodness, it’s Nancy Drew!”
Technically if you have the ancient knowledge when you craft the aetherium staff the chances of its spawning a Dwarven spider or spear increases up to approximately 75% of the time. At least, that what experienced through my play through.
Love your videos please keep up the awesome work! 💪💪
I’m like 2 years late but thank you for this guide mate
Your a LEGEND!!
*you're
I wonder what Katria would say if you approach and show her that you found more aethurium other than the shards?
I’m pretty sure selling fire wood makes way more money that the staff
4:01 "You... want a hand?"
*That spectrophilic Arondil of Yngvild Barrow fame : "You know damn well I do!!"*
Basically you become imoteph if he succeeded in the mummy and the giants just follow you around killing your enemies jajaja.
I always get a copy of that book from Fort Dawnguard.
The Crown ans... the other two things no one uses.
The staff: Why you want to spawn a machine who makes a fucking hell of a noise?(dwemer sphere)
shield: why do you want to make a enemy impossible to do damage but immune to damage?
the crown: has uses for all the classes, allow more powers if you are a mage and has trouble with lockpicking (The atronach stone + The tower stone)if you are a heavly warrior and has trouble with carryweight ( the steed stone, and some other you think its more useful)
No one wears helmet anyways
Mavolent when playing on legendary difficulty the shield can be useful when tanking/ distracting enemies so you aren't overwhelmed
Hey there bud, i use the staff
Mathijs S. You can get a dwemer sphere/spider follower through the dragonborn DLC while they count as a pet
or go for 35% more exp bonus to ether warrior, thief or mage.
What I love about the crown is I can have an undead army using the ritual stone.
You could also use the Ritual Stone tons more.
Dude every sound in this quest is sooooo satisfying
I choose the staff because I like staffs, not to use just to collect
i...take the daggers off the people i kill, as trophies...except Falmor, Falmor i take the ears....always keep one from each Falmor...as a trophy....and briarhearts...never use em for alchemy....just as trophies from my victories...
i may be a closet Serial Killer in Tamriel...
In harthfire DLC when you build a house you can make a trophy room that displays your victims... Don't worry were all serial killers of skyrim here
You are weak
Starting the game : i'm going to clear the story with these equip!!
At the end : Bow/Sneak.
The thong that gets me is you're not just using the last etherium, you're using THE KEY TO THE FORGE to make, what, a nifty hat? A useless staff? Hope you like it...
Is no one gonna mention how he said “stick it in, that’s something i havent heard in a while”🤣😵💀🪦
when you love harder difficulty combat, the shield is definietly better.
"Grab them Mortein"
Some quality Australian humour there, Camel 👌👌
Can you explain it to an American?
A GAME THEORY.
THANK'S FOR WATCHING.
"Please just wait while my combat ally to walks slowly from the last kalpa cycle." Holy crap that is an obscure reference and i love it.
I got the crown to complete the quest The wispering door with it without killing 10 friends.
how?
@@springtrap7467 ritual stone zombies dont turn into ash. you just need one hired hand
U dont need to use ritual stone for that dead thrall doesnt turn them to ash either, tho its much easier to use the crown than master spells
Or of course just have the stone normally and use the wait function to get the power back and use it again
I literally ALWAYS choose the crown. Never tried the other two. Interesting video!
"Uhhhh, No"
Uhhhh, Yes
Thank you!
Very Helpful
Camel.. love your vids! but now im curious if she has special dialogue if you drop Zephyr in front of her....
Random Cat Name did you find out yet?
cant believe you didn't mention the crown/ritual stone combo. most amazing exploit in the game
Can you use a resurrection tome mod and cast it on Katrias body in the dungeon?
I waited for this entire video for a terrible pun. You did not disappoint.
You can encounter Katria’s apprentice as well and he tries to kill you after discovering she helped you. Kinda cool as a random encounter.
Taron Dreth’s unique robes, although sharing their model with master robes, are actually enchanted to the same grade as apprentice level destruction robes
Yeah, guys pretending he’s a master. But.
I get attached to games, books, and TV shows really easily, so it gave me GREAT satisfaction to behead that bastard
Where can you encounter??
@@aGenuineWoman Walking the roads of Skyrim. I found him at the road headed to Winterhold. It's a random encounter, so just walk along the roads after completing the quest. You'll run into him eventually
This is one of my favourite quests. I never chose anything other than the Aetherial Crown because... Well... I don't think this needs explaining anymore. Just the idea of being able to stack bonus EXP is so good... It makes grinding skills so much faster
Let me just say, killing the Forge Master on a low level on Legendary is next to impossible. His AOE will drain your health quick smart, he is very aggressive and he hits like a freight train.
Started playing Skyrim again. Thanks so much: not for the item advice, I already knew the crown was top tier. What I learnt from this video is that apparently 45+ is already endgame level. I`m already at 44 and haven`t even finished the main quest, haven`t started the 2 main DLC quests or the thief and dark brotherhood guild quest-lines. So many other quests to do. LOL
what are the chances, i just finished the quest and this video came out
If your enchanting level is low Using the Crown and with the Locket of Saint Jiub super helpful artifacts incase u need extra Carry weight very awesome video
