@@DisplayReality everything is perfect on the moniter, no dead pixels or anything except just like your 2nd neo g7 on the top left corner the back panel isnt completly glued shut. Its not nearly as bad as yours was. Its only a hair. Since everything else is perfect Im going to keep it. Ill just get a large dust cover for the monitor like I have for my consoles when im not using them. The curved screen is messing with my eyes a bit but im hoping after a few days they will adjust. Do you have any tips on how to get the best picture settings?
@@zechprime7114 I have received more info on ppl receiving the neo G7 like out back panel defect. It seems it more common at least so far. We shall see if more have that issue. Honestly currently I think rts mode (so you can control the black equalizer to your liking) is the best Preset. I just use cinema for now as I still switch out monitors to test. Try rts mode of course with local dimming high to get the most out of this Mini led tech. I will make a detailed Preset video but everything looks great on default other then brightness. Local dimming high for games and low or off for browsing as you don't want small windows at 700+ nits too powerfully for your eyes.

I picked up the Sony M9 also amd that was plagued with issues. Their was an issue with one of the leds and a stuck pixel plus the sound quality from plugging hifi speakers into the headphone jack of the monitor is awful. Full of dustortion. ID stay clear of that .

This video made my mind up thanks! I will wait for the Asus ROG Swift PG42UQ. It's basically an LG C2 but should hopefully fix my 1 issue with the TV which was the low SDR brightness of 180 nits due to the addition of a heatsink. Every time I see blooming with Mini LED on starfields I cringe. Dead Space Remake & Callisto Protocol will look incredible on OLED.
That DP port is needed to fully experience OLED on PCs. I have a 2080 and I can't go higher than 4k60hz due to my gpu. Asus or OLED Ultragear are the ones to get.

Thx friend... I edited each separately. And put both together at the end. If you look closely you can see a line in the middle of the screen where I put them together. Meaning I recorded one then the other. I wanted to make sure the spltter was not effecting the results. But you are right if I had recorded while the other one was on it would detect more light but since these are curved the light is shining away but still to be safe they were separate 1 on and 1 off while recording.

I feel like its not got enough attention as it is edge-lit however, we're not exactly spoilt for choice in the flat screened 32inch category, especially with both HDMI 2.1 and a decent colour gamut for productivity or editing.
When I game I usually have it at say 60 on the Aorus and 80 on every other monitor in sdr. I say this because the Aorus is over 600nits in power and is too bright even for me at max. So I judge all other brightness levels to that. On the LG 32GQ950 I see a 100nits diff from 450nits at 100% to 340nits at 80%. I show in my LG 32GQ950 video with cyberpunk in sdr.

@@harris92nic you can leave it on whatever you want. Higher brightness will give you higher peaks. Remember just because you have it at 100 does not mean the while picture is at 100. These dim nicely as Mini led will give you that contrast. If I want to game at 100 I do so. There is no issue these are flicker free. hdr I keep at 100 always for that pop. That's the only way to achieve that hdr2000 Samsung specification (in reality it's about 1200-1500nits in the smallest highlights)

Can you see if scan lines appear after you enable the VRR setting under the system tab on your G8? On mine I get scan lines at 240hz but not at 120hz with adaptive sync on and VRR off in the monitor settings. I have some flickering when I turn on adaptive sync on the G8 but the flickering goes away when I enable VRR on the monitor. VRR on however causes the scanlines to appear even at 120hz. It's like a no -win situation for me.
I think there are different scan line results depending on pc setups. I have some pics on my community post. I say no scan lines on that pic but some say they can see it. So I am trying tobget more pics from different ppl to show what lines look like. That pic is just the pixels showing. But performance is great. Seriously in gaming my friends and I do not see lines at all. It's only on a windows level. It's hard to say as I'm sure many may be more prone ro seeing it.
Also could you update the firmware on the older NEO G7 and compare them to see if the older one will perform like the newer one with the firmware update?
Samsung has not released any firmwares yet.these come built in already. I have talked to a couple of ppl who have the Neo G7 and they see the lower brightness also like in my video. Could be either panel variance or firmware downgrade. But I have never seen Samsung lower brightness on a firmware but you never know... I will try to get ahold of a 1002.1 firmware if I can...
That's what I wanted to show. The quality control. My 2nd Neo G7 is worse at blooming and brightness and build quality and it was on firmware 1003.0 everything here was at the same exact settings thats why the video shows just a tad less brightness on the 2nd one.
I can't get mad at Samsung for bad QC for the price of these monitors compared to its competitors. ViewSonic and Asus Mini-LED monitors are twice the cost for the same number of dimming zones. But that is still not cool, not cool at all. SMH
Apparently on the neo g7 and g8 you'll notice the flickering issue with vrr enabled, full array local dimming on at lower frame rates. Can you test this with Elden Ring on ps5 since it jumps between 45 to 60 fps and see if there is flickering with vrr and full array local dimming on high. You don't have to make a video, I would even appreciate an update in the comments.
Ok. I have seen helped some friends remove the flicker but by disabling VRR but they only see flicker in the Xbox menu. In my videos so far everything is enabled and no flicker. But I did play 60+fps games. So I will try elden ring and reply back. I am making an update Neo 8 vid I'll include that topic on there.

i kind of like the neo g8 (due to specs) but... i cant get more then 27 inch screen so i wish they would have a 27inch 1440p version - as the "non-neo" g7 is .... well its good but not as good as the neo ones - so hopefully another is on the way and affordable! - im just here as im interested in the quality control aspect
The G6 should be good. Bit like you said.. Other than the quality control we need to go thru. Smart Features and hopefully an updated firmware and issue fix...

The more 4k240hz release the cheaper it will get. We are about to get a bunch from Asus, Acer, viewsonic, monoprice. Seriously alot of monitors incoming. The other mini led monitors are using the AMLED 576 zone panels. I mean they aren't cheap still just lower in count.

It depends on preferencies. 21:9 vs 16:9, pc gaming vs console gaming (subjective), the best contrast vs less contrast in dimming areas, multitask display vs media display for tv shows or console gaming, not so bright vs quite bright etc
I had them and I tried many monitor last 2 months ,AW34 is way better and Neo G7/G8 is dead monitor not worth even for free! Get C2 enjoy your life nothing can’t beat it.

I've dealt with Samsung in the past and let's just say customer service and support leaves a lot to be desired... Knowing these monitors Neo G8/G7and S95 QD-Oled Tv's still siffer from terrible QC issue's in 2022 is a big DON'T BUY to me.... The build quality is terrible for a premium priced product in the Neo G8 along with the scan line's which is the case on almost every review at 240hz..You can only select either 240hz or 120hz nothing else either as far as I'm aware....could be wrong The G7 seems to fair better but still the cheap plastic wobbly build...nope

Where do you download the firmware update for NEO G7? I only see and option for driver and easy setting box software...
My 2nd Neo G7 already had it installed. I am not sure of the new 1003 lowers brightness as I have talked to some ppl who want to revert to 1002.1.

I can't get mad at Samsung for bad QC for the price of these monitors compared to its competitors. ViewSonic and Asus Mini-LED monitors are twice the cost for the same number of dimming zones. But that is still not cool, not cool at all. SMH
True... 3k for last yrs Mini led was too much. At least prices now are coming down from all the competition that is coming. Good but tough times...
Apparently on the neo g7 and g8 you'll notice the flickering issue with vrr enabled, full array local dimming on at lower frame rates. Can you test this with Elden Ring on ps5 since it jumps between 45 to 60 fps and see if there is flickering with vrr and full array local dimming on high. You don't have to make a video, I would even appreciate an update in the comments.
Ok. I have seen helped some friends remove the flicker but by disabling VRR but they only see flicker in the Xbox menu. In my videos so far everything is enabled and no flicker. But I did play 60+fps games. So I will try elden ring and reply back. I am making an update Neo 8 vid I'll include that topic on there.

None online. So far they are coming like that from the factory. Probably different manufacturer batches.

i kind of like the neo g8 (due to specs) but... i cant get more then 27 inch screen so i wish they would have a 27inch 1440p version - as the "non-neo" g7 is .... well its good but not as good as the neo ones - so hopefully another is on the way and affordable! - im just here as im interested in the quality control aspect
The G6 should be good. Bit like you said.. Other than the quality control we need to go thru. Smart Features and hopefully an updated firmware and issue fix...

I have an LG 34gn850 Ultrawide and after the 1st update they took away the option of a future firmware update...I think it's intentional as they move resources on to the next model

M8? You mean m9? Sony m9 is better for work and browsing. Even gaming its great. The Neo G7 is good for gaming.

The more 4k240hz release the cheaper it will get. We are about to get a bunch from Asus, Acer, viewsonic, monoprice. Seriously alot of monitors incoming. The other mini led monitors are using the AMLED 576 zone panels. I mean they aren't cheap still just lower in count.

@@DisplayReality bro i got my samsung g70a today, man its dimm af compared to my lg27ul xd, brightness is so important, i will try 27gn950 next i think its the best for me cause i play with hdr effect 100% brigthness, g70a got no hdr effect and my button side is dimmer more yellowish than the top :=)
btw i will try m28u but first the gn950 i think its the best for me :=)

Is arrived like that already on the monitor. Both of these were purchased 2 wk apart.
Alienware QD-OLED or Samsung NEO G8
Alienware has problems too but on performance for pc the AW3423DW is better while the Neo G7/8 is better in SDR. It makes SDR look HDR sometimes.
It depends on preferencies. 21:9 vs 16:9, pc gaming vs console gaming (subjective), the best contrast vs less contrast in dimming areas, multitask display vs media display for tv shows or console gaming, not so bright vs quite bright etc
I had them and I tried many monitor last 2 months ,AW34 is way better and Neo G7/G8 is dead monitor not worth even for free! Get C2 enjoy your life nothing can’t beat it.

I've dealt with Samsung in the past and let's just say customer service and support leaves a lot to be desired...
Knowing these monitors Neo G8/G7and S95 QD-Oled Tv's still siffer from terrible QC issue's in 2022 is a big DON'T BUY to me....
The build quality is terrible for a premium priced product in the Neo G8 along with the scan line's which is the case on almost every review at 240hz..You can only select either 240hz or 120hz nothing else either as far as I'm aware....could be wrong
The G7 seems to fair better but still the cheap plastic wobbly build...nope
In a gpu driver through a custom resolution frequencies can be changed.
