I drove my bus home yesterday! Bumper to bumper! then traffic started flowing better, I was doing 50mph I got passed by a smart car so I sped up to 60mph. I white knuckled her all the way home! I was scared to death! but I'm not anymore! I ordered a tiny bus like yours. I thought everybody used the same kinda fans, I didn't know there were any other fans LOL till I watched your video. I got mine from a different place. Thanks so much for the video!
Oh, we know exactly what you mean. Driving a bus is no easy work. So far we've only driven it from Austin to Houston which was a three-hour trip turn to five LOL . The small toy buses are really really cool and we are glad that we were able to find one that was a flat nose because most toy buses are just traditional dog noses. I hope you like yours and it gets you enthusiasm to go work on the bus when you're not there like it does us! Congrats on the bus that is an awesome feeling. I'm sure there are more than just those two options, the max fan and the fantastic fan, but it looks like those two were the most popular ones.

Nice job. When we installed our Maxx fan we cut from on top of the roof. So much easier than all of that overhead work. You will absolutely love your fan!
Dicor self leveling caulk is your friend.

@@GustheStruggleBus Normally it is a great idea, except with the tropicool being silicone and dicor being a silicone, they won't stick to one another. If you want to keep grinding off the tropicool a little further around the fan, it will be your best friend, but there's no point of attempting it with the silicone roof coating.
We have if you don't take plus some silicone caulking and then on top of that we also put some tropical along the cracks okay. So hopefully that will have the three layers of protection. Make sure that everything stuck 😎

I know right!!! We look back at older videos and think of how far we have come and how clueless we where/are. My favorite thing about this process is all the things that we have learned so far 😎

Yeah @MEREDITH and PACO! It looks pretty straight forward to install this fan! You two have come sooo far with your build since this one! We're trying to figure out how many fans we're going to need. Are y'all doing just one or doing two or more to MAXX-imize on the exhaust/intake... We're torn! One thing we're thinking about is that just having a window open on one side of the bus with the others closed and the fan set to exhaust will create a wind tunnel because in exhaust mode the fan would create a negative air space inside the bus causing the outside air to want to rush in through the open window... We shall see!

Couldn't agree more!! hahahah It was very easy to install and now we have it hooked up, we tested it and it was awesome!! It is crazy to go back and look at old videos, always a good way to remind us how far we have come! We went with just one fan in the front main section, I (meredith) really wanted a second in the bedroom because I like having a fan to sleep. But becasue of the deck and cost we will not get a second. The window trick should work though!
Nice job... Yep, still jelly lol. Word of advice: try not to screw or drill or cut too much into the sides of the bus's ribs. That is where they are most structural and load bearing. I'm sure it'll be fine for just the fan install, but be careful in the future and about this as much as possible, especially when installing your ceiling framing. Love you guys!!!

Nope, just something to try to avoid the sides of the ribs as much as possible. A couple of screws shouldn't affect anything though.

You will want to add another vent or fan in the front. My bus is much shorter and I had to add another vent because the heat gets trapped in the ceiling above the windows.
Have you ever heard of this before but it makes sense. Why to look into this thank you for the heads up.
Oh and on the way home A name for her just came to me! So I named her Gina, I don't know how or why but it just popped in my head! Did you make sure none of those penny's were a 1943 copper before sticking them to the floor?

Are we not feeling lol next will be more weather sealing making sure that everything is watertight. Our biggest problems right now are the emergency doors and then of course the driver's door. I think we might need to get new gaskets what are completion or where to get them cheap.

That, we haven't looked at. That's something that could potentially fix a problem. While to look into that.
I have seen people paint around their fan on the roof with their roof paint. I am not sure, check other sites.
Yes we plan on doing that to. The tropicool along with the butyl tape and layer of silicone we put on there should give it 3 layers of protection 😎
