    Omg thank you I couldn’t figure out if the bearing could go in backwards or not. Glad to know it can go either way 😅

    Tools make the job a lot easier great tips thanks

      Definitely need the tools to do the job efficiently. The recommended procedure has you remove the knuckle and use a press but that disturbs the camber adjustment often requiring an alignment. Thanks for the comment.

    When pressing the hub into the new bearing, use a smaller adapter that fits the ring around the hub or you will ruin the bearing. Timestamp 7:30 explains pressing in the bearing but when pressing the hub into the bearing you need to not press on the outer ring of bearing but inner.

      Yes you are correct. I guess I should have explained that better.

    In older Accents, especially in cold areas with a ton of salt and brine, that thin dust cover disintegrates. If there's any sign of rust, I'd go ahead and replace it since you have to take the whole bearing off to get to it. They're about $30 a piece. No clue why the engineers didn't just make it two pieces that would connect around the knuckle instead of being one sandwiched piece between parts that need special tools to connect and disconnect.

    I'm having a horrible time with the snap ring. My lifts down until next week so doing in on the ground and the snap rings frozen. I have to get out of Cleveland Ohio a job that should take a hr tops turns into 2 or 3 because everything's rusted. I almost broke the ears off the ring. It was not my best of days

      I feel your pain...been there, done that, got the T shirt. I've had to take the knuckle off the car just to be able to get the snap ring off. I usually soak it down with penetrating fluid and then use an air hammer to free it by going around the entire ring hitting it with the air hammer towards the bearing. Then once its loose try the ears. I don't need to tell you how much of a pita it becomes when you break off the ears. Ive had to, on occasion drill into the cast behind the snap ring and used a center punch to knock it loose. Good luck.

    What kinda grease do the cv axles take? I heard new ones don’t come greased. Looks like general purpose or high temp

      The CV axle grease is supplied with a new boot kit but a new CV shaft is already lubricated. Not sure what you mean?

    How do you do this with a sensor on the hub😊

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If the sensor is in the way it has to be removed. Unfortunately they often don't come out in one piece.

    Is it dangerous to re-use the front old hub? People recommend using a new one. Mine is free rust and 154 K miles only.

      If referring to the part the wheel bolts to there is no reason why you can't reuse it. They sell it so you don't have to press the inner bearing race off or if it's damaged. 99% of the time I will reuse it.
