Awesome book that gives you step-by-step photos th-cam.com/users/postUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt and directions to make every day project. I can see myself making a few of these projects and giving them as housewarming and holiday gifts!

I found it quite funny that you were trying all these fancy patterns and ended up with the brick pattern for everything. As I thought you had some kind of past in construction. Keep it up!

I think the only tip that beats the baton screwed to the wall to negate an uneven floor is the one about asking the opinion of your nearest and dearest... if you're halfway through already, you can guarantee they would have done it "a different way"!! 🤣
Another absolute corker here Stuart thank you, keep up the good work.

Another superb video, definitely one of my go to channels (along with skill builder) for DIY projects! I use a laser level also when setting out and also checking lines

Never thought of a story stick. I just always marked the tiles on the wall. Ill be using a stick in the future. Keep up the good work. 👍

Hi Stuart very good vid on planning the room, would have been good to show the room height split with a datum line and reference all heights of window door etc to your stick. Just a minor observation but great work regardless👍

What you did on floor I always do in Sketchup, makes it much easier to find best solution

I always start before that point, I use the size of the room to at least try to influence the choice of the size of tile if not determine what is purchased entirely. I know this can seem restrictive but a perfectly sized and patterned layout can be a large percentage of the looks of a finished job.

Lots of great tips, wouldn’t it have been better to put the alternate markings on the opposite edge of the stick so you could juts flip it around?

Thank you for showing how to do things without all that hyper equipment as lasers and 3d scanners and rockets or something else 😆

Stuart what do you recommend to put first? Floor or walls?

If you use the same stick for the verticals you will be missing a joint?

If you spray the chalk line with hairspray it stays visible for longer.

The most important tile you install is the very first one.
