The item you picked up is increasing a stat called "life steal value," but there is also a stat called "life steal chance" that is always at 0, you can see it in the stats on the right when you're picking upgrades. I think you need life steal chance from another source before life steal value can do anything. Maybe from meta upgrades?
Yes, I figured this out in my next playthrough. I would prefer if the game had a base % lifesteal value of 1%. Just so you are not taking something that is actually worthless.
So this game has vamp chance and vamp value. That first run, you got 5% chance, but had 0% value, so any vamping you did, gave you nothing. In your second game, you got 10% vamp value, but 0% chance. You'd need to have gotten both items in order to get anything. But if you did get both types at 5% each, you'd heal for about 1/400th the damage you deal, and with a dps of around 2000, that translates to about 5 hp a second. It is barely better than 2 med kits, but once you have both items, either of them can double the effect. So it is a gamble over whether or not you see both types, but if you do it is a lot of healing.
those killing frenzy drops should be like top priority drop wise it just gives so much exp and items dropped if you try to keep it up full time your levels fly and beating the levels is a lot easier also make sure to get 2 movement speed from boxes if you can it helps for when groups of bosses chase you down towards the end.
Yeah, I started chaining them as I got more experienced with the game. It can get really crazy with multiple frenzies in a row in the later parts of the run.
Love the playthrough! You're definitely one of the better players of this game. =D Quick question though, are you a bit colorblind? Couldn't help but notice you kept running into the green poison clouds XD Hope to see you play this more!
For the lifesteal the first run you had lifesteal chance but not the value and in the second run you didn't have lifesteal chance so it didn't trigger Also when upgrading the skills when it showed cooldown -2.0s and then it said current cooldown on the right not what it would be after the cooldown
for showcasing content i wish you did the 2nd game a bit different. i felt like i watched you make the exact same decisions in both games other than having the huntress in the team on the 2nd... you could have just posted the one game
Splitting the life steal into separate components of life steal chance and life steal value, where both start at zero? I have to say I'm not a fan of it. At least give something like 1% for one when you get 5% of the other.
@@NeverNathaniel yeah but the magnet i don't see pull health towards you, so pick up range will help on that, so you don't need need to be standing on top of it to pick it up.

I think having the medic unlocked and in your party can give a base level of Lifesteal??
There's a artifact that gives chance from the crates

@@NeverNathaniel You mean life steal chance lol. Base chance of 1% would make the 5% value item not completely worthless

I picked this game up and the first thing I thought is 'I hope Never Nathaniel plays this'. Great game, keep these videos coming!
Vampire survival, Halls of Agony, and now YAZS, it's officially a genre!
Cool changes from the demo. Looking forward to the next videos in this series
Agreed. I really like the three boss varieties as well. If they have different bosses for each map, could be really cool as the game updates!
zero percent life steal chance :D
Just discovered the game myself been having fun. During your first play through I kept screaming sawblade get sawblade

This is such a fun game! And looks absolutely GORGEOUS!
I like it a lot. Super moody with a very visceral feel with the weapons and gore.
Wife and I both play this one! Great way to unwind.
hope there is ui setting as well really want to see health bar at bottom
There is a health bar at the top and circle around your character, but I don't think there is a setting to change those right now.
Swarm Survivors around the world Unite!
ty, bough it right away. I love it
It's really great!
Does anybody know when an update is comming out whit more maps and stuff?
With cool down reduction and the arrow rain with the electric turret seems like it would be really good if you stayed around them
Yeah, but the game does incentivize you to run around with the boxes and survivors to collect. Would be good for no-move runs, though.
Nate please stop running into the poison guys its making me crazyyyyyy lol
I don't think I will...
@@NeverNathaniel 😆
Nice, I saw this earlier today and w3as going to drop Nate a comment to look at it but he was way ahead of me! This looks really interesting.
I like it a lot. Multiple videos incoming...
The damage numbers make it really hard for me to follow what's going on... the other stuff otherwise is not to much visual overload

can i use a 100% Controller via Steam?
I use a controller when I play.

I actually like to play it too. I played the demo too. But, buying it... Idk maybe not, will see. For now just wanna watch some ytubers play it. 👍

Steam page says "Full Controller Support", so...
Yeah, it was confusing to me at first (clearly), but I would prefer if they gave lifesteal value a base, even if it's 1%.
"pick up range useless" well you don't wanna level up faster then lol. the ranger is better to have then not have it
There are so many magnet drops in the game that it is virtually pointless. A very common trap with many similar survivors games.
@@NeverNathaniel yeah but the magnet i don't see pull health towards you, so pick up range will help on that, so you don't need need to be standing on top of it to pick it up.
Wow agan
Are you colour blind bro? You keep running into the greenies when they can easily be avoided
