You imagine for the first test Razor will want to start his most experienced players and keep a simple game plan if he wants to win. I'm English so I haven't watched super rugby but he seems like a fairly grounded guy, he will take this test seriously. It's a tough first game

Of course they can and will have home advantage. That said, England have a decent, young, energetic team who won't be afraid and also some more experienced elder statesmen that have had success against the ABs. Can't wait!

I remember the late Sione Lauaki being a tremendous threat at Super Rugby level, but it never translated to the international level. Hoskins like Lauaki is an asset on attack but goes missing on defense and often shirks the heavy duty tasks required of an international eight.

If it was all just about attack Zach Mercer would be starting for England.
Can completely see why he's not being selected, makes much more sense to have a player who can be utilized across the back row because no one is getting any minuets over Ardie who's been resting in a retirement league this year and will be fresh and ready to battle against arguably the 2nd best 8 in the world in international rugby over the last year.

Englands best shot is the first test, the blacks ability to execute a new game plan and to gel with one another is gonna take a bit of time. So we'll probably see a tight game up front for the large part regardless of weather.
It's at Forsyth Barr first up so there is no "weather".

if you go onto my two cents rugby he has the stats of sotutu and it isnt as impressive as the others. Sititi is a star. Well picked. average 70 m a game and 94% tackle rate

look, If McKenzie has played 10 games with 90% success rate in conversions, and Jodie Barret plays 1 game (kicks only 2 conversions) and has a 100% success rate... You know that the stats don't fully reflect everything. even though one is at 90% and the other at 100%.
If we're picking purely on stats, then Blackadder should be dropped.

Razor's performance at Super Rugby has shown us that he took losers and newbies and second-string players, and transformed them into serial super rugby winners. He evem did this while he was with the Canterbury NPC team. It's time to trust him when he says he has a particular style he wants to play, and that was the same thing he employed in the past, and now he gets to lift that with the players across the country to choose from. New Zealand's style has been copied and countered effectively in the last five to eight years, and it's time to change the style - i feel it will be ferocious, attacking and intense play that is backed by excellent defence and counter-attacking. I understand that the discussions here have made assumptions based on the last few years, especially under Foster BUT Give Razor a chance. The media have been going on about how wrong Razor got it by dropping Hoskins Sotutu, and its time to let Razor coach and journalist type on their keyboard.
Nz need to deal with the fact that 80%-90% eras are gone and dusting ….that is what they wanna chase

I think Hoskin doesn't deserve in a spot in the squad against England. Scoring 12 tries in a Super Rugby season doesn't mean anything if you get off the ground slowly and you're lazy in defense. Maybe change the inscription to "Most Lazy" or "Learn to play both sides of the ball"

The OP is claiming a bs penalty to SA for a prop going down on a knee in the scrum after repeated resets - the scrum was not straight later in the piece but that was the first offence and got penalised correctly. You were penalised twice for that in the opener against France, we (Boks) were penalised for it in the Scotland game and Ireland game, and England scored their winning points in the bronze playoff when the Argentina prop did that. Why is the SA one the only one we are talking about?
It pains me to even contemplate why you think a try should have been allowed after Ardie clearly lost the ball forward and it hit de Groot / Retallick. Secondly, that rumour mill I was talking about... Stuff decided to publish a "I heard it from a guy.." and that's all you need to cry foul because of "multiple phases" having passed?
The ignorance of rugby laws, even from pundits and former players like JK and Goldie, who believe that a tackle and clean out constitutes a phase, is what has caused this uproar. A phase is clearly defined in the law book and a tackle and clean out does not qualify. In the context of that passage of play, you would need rucks to be formed and that simply did not happen. There was no reason NOT to overturn the try, it was well within the protocols, so no, "poor officiating" did not overturn the try where you knocked the ball on.
The try was overturned because of an All Blacks' error, you were given a penalty for the incident, from where you ultimately scored your one and only try.
