Lyrics:
How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind
Yes, 'n' how many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea?
Yes, 'n' how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
Yes, 'n' how many times can a man turn his head
And pretend that he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind
Yes, 'n' how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind

This is deep.

How many songs?! Dylan should be required listening before you can be on you tube. So many have used his tunes.

Well done for realising that your family and friends need you on this earth. And then look around yourself - and see how many other people, that you don't even know - need you!!!!! Give 50 bucks to a destitute person tomorrow - see the look in their eyes - and see how that makes you feel. it's beautiful.

Put this song in a time capsule. Two thousand years from now, some alien lifeforms will discover it and weep at its beauty.

My very straightlaced father turned me on to Dylan in 1963, when I was 12 years old. We were riding in his car on NYC's Westside Highway, when a Dylan song came on the radio, and dad told me he thought Dylan was brilliant. To this day, I have no idea how my father even knew who Dylan was, but I will never forget the moment. I miss you, Dad.
The truthfulness of Dylan’s words meant that all but the worst of us would appreciate his genius. Rest in peace to your father, I’m sure he was a great man.
My his soul continue to rest in perfect peace.
Thnks for the love and support ❤..

If you can hear the words of the song and if they mean something to you, then be the change. It starts with you.
Couldn’t of said it better myself
I always interpreted the line, "the answer is blowin' in the wind", as indicating that the answer is there, we can all see it, it's tangible, but every time we reach out it just blows in the wind. We all know how to not be violent and treat each other with dignity, yet we always fail somehow, no matter how hard we seem to try.
Michael Hill YES YES. I AGREE!!!

Some folks think Dylan would make a wonderful president! I'm one of those folks!
@@jasonyost1479 Oh sure, like we want Dylan's Lullaby to be America's anthem?
@@TheRojo387 His music makes a little more sense then some things I've seen, the last few years. I don't know if he would make a good president, I just threw that out there. At least, someone replied to it. I appreciate that. I'm not much into the politics. I don't have any control of it. I have a couple DUI's, my bad, but, I haven't even checked to see if I can vote. I did figure out how to fix the DUI's. It took me 45 yrs to realize I just needed to quit drinking. 3 yrs+, since I had a drink. Not bragging just saying. Thanks, again, for replying. Hope you & your loved ones, Stay Safe. World is a harder place to live in, than it was a while back. Or, maybe I'm just getting older. 👍🤔👍
This song has never been more relevant than today. Right today.
sadhguru
It's most relevant song for today 21th century.
Everything is about out look. No one looks inside. I'm sad and a bit angry. How fast everything changes and there is no way back
Not true. It has been relevant before it was even written.
What about yesterday when Bush ravaged Iraq, what about today's Syria, Yémen Mali Niger....huh truly sad you westerns. If you'd say about humanity, so be it with everyone not just look west
Will never forget the black and white video of a very young Dylan with his guitar at one of the civil rights rallies in the 60s. You don’t have to be old to be wise. His heart is in the right place. Love you Dylan.
Theres something so magical about bob dylans voice no matter how many people hate on him
During these days, this song is more current than ever❤️🩹
Ciao Emma
Great song. Hope you can enjoy one of my songs. I'm a one man band on youtube.
Completely disagree it was definitely more prevalent during the Vietnam war
Cathrine Berry: I agree with you, but do also remember that lots of Russian people are also victims in this. People who are affraid of living in their own country etc and people who are also excluded from various occations because of the fact that they are from Russia. Because of one man, the leader of this country. I am not so sure how I would have felt if I was excluded because of what our prime minister (I am Norwegian and there is no president here) had messed up. So when it comes to the habitans I have the sympathy. It also says that some agree with the president, but I don't know if they just say it because they are affraid, knowing the concequenses if they do the oposite. Poor people.
Truly? Never heard of Syria Yémen Mali Niger...you European know nothing but yourselves. Selfish. May Putin put you to hurt as many many countries hurt while you never react unless it is Europe. Planet earth is not only Europe for God sake
My mother was a Bob Dylan fan when she was young, and now I'm one of his fans as well. I love how good music goes from one generation to another.

Oh yes...That's the true beauty of music! It is and always will be that way!
I agree. My Dad showed me this song when I was younger. :)
I've talked with my mom about how Bob Dylan was releasing a lot of stuff when she was fourteen, and now that I'm fourteen he still has new albums coming out!
I cried listening this song on my way to Annapurna Base Camp. I had trekked miles to reach there; I was surrounded by mountains all around me and then when my travel speaker played this song I literally cried. I now know how powerful songs can be - given the perfect time and condition.
(PS: volume of my speaker was soft)
❤️❤️
Nice story and a fitting music to Himayala too, but with all due respect....these travel speakers have screwed up the tranquil peace of Himalayas........:-)
Funny, because this guy literally cannot sing. His worst performance though was in ‘We are the world’. He ruined that song with his part. His audiences must be tone deaf.
Imagine playing Jimi Hendrixs' "All along the watchtower", while strolling thru the jungles of Vietnam, "looking for Charlie". That'll bring tears to your eyes too.
So much beauty in music 💙

I wasn’t alive anywhere close when this song came out but this song is genuinely electrifying. One of those “you had to be there” moments in history. It’s a simple song yet says so much. I remember during Covid lockdown when I was a high school sophomore, I found this song and fell in love with the work of Bob Dylan. In my personal opinion, the greatest songwriter of all time.
