    About the speaker
    ALEJANDRA MENDEZ
    Alejandra is the mother of a childhood cancer survivor, after that experience, she decided to devote herself to giving every child who is diagnosed with cancer the same opportunities to survive the disease. She is actively involved in local and global projects related to improving the quality of life of patients, survivors, and their families.
    She currently serves as Vice President of Childhood Cancer International - CCI, board member of Fundación Nuestros Hijos in Chile; and Co-Chair at the SIOP Global Health Network PFSE Working Group (Patient, Family, Stakeholder Engagement). She is member of the SIOP PARC Committee (Program for Advancing Research Capacity for Pediatric Cancer Clinical Trials) representing the interests of childhood cancer survivors and parents. She also serves as a member of the Experts Committees at Foundation S, for the My Child Matters Program.
    Alejandra has shared her experiences and perspectives in multiple local and international congresses, including WHO, WCC (World Child Cancer) CCI and SIOP, among others.
    She is based in Santiago, Chile where she lives with her husband and three sons.
