- ➦ Cozy games have been known about by everyone in the gaming community for quite some time now, with the most prominent figures in the plain being titles like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. But, there are so many more out there, and they are life-changing experiences. The genre that brings so much comfort usually only appeals to women and people who have never played any game before, due to their blatant boredom they offer, and the lack of competitiveness alongside that. Men usually play games their entire life, so these games never appeal to them. I'm here to change that, and explain exactly why it needs to be changed.

I recently had this realization, that I constantly stress myself by watching intense movies/shows, or by playing games that take a toll on the mind. This video helped me understand that it is okay to take it easy. The world we live in is already putting so much weight on us, but the least we can do is put on some more. My "cozy" game is actually Elden Ring and Tekken 7. I've gotten to a point where I've become so good at these two games that I play them while turning my mind off. It's so relaxing for me.

This video is beautiful, definitely a message that needs to be spoken aloud. I'll admit I haven't actually tried to sit and fully focus on a 'Cozy' game - leaning more towards games that trigger my anger issues 😅 But this video has absolutely inspired and pushed me to download stardew valley - which I only bought so my girlfriend could play it (Go figure huh?)
I really hope more people see this video, it's something a lot of people haven't heard that they need to - me included.

I don’t think it will, it only has a 1.2% click through rate right now, meaning out of everyone seeing it only 1.2% of them have clicked. Like 10K people have seen it on their recommended. I sure hope that changes though

This hit quite close to home. I've personally never been interested in the competitive genre of games. Yes I have played them from time to time if my friends invited me, but they were never something I'd play by myself. I just didn't see the fun in spending countless hours shooting people to rank higher , I've always found the most enjoyment in calm games where I can do what I wanna do and at my own pace, like: Minecraft or Scrap Mechanic. Absolutely fantastic video!

I'm at the point now where I don't even know why I ever played competitive games to begin with, and sort of regret never turning to the cozier side of games sooner.

I think competitive games will always have a place in the community, but as time goes on there is definitely going to be a shift in the genre that becomes the frontrunner of it all. More and more people will start to rely more heavily on games that make them happy and provide them with a true escape from the trials and tribulations of life, which competitive games can often not provide. @joffedy Viva Piñata, as well as Viva Piñata Trouble in Paradise, are some of my favorite games I have ever played, even though they're actually quite old now. It's basically a garden simulation game where you grow plants and tame piñatas (basically animals), and the only real threat is Professor Pestor and the Ruffians, who show up once you progress and aren't that hard to stop. It's targeted to children, however, I still love it anyways, and It's available on xbox 360 (but I think it's backwards compatible with newer xbox's), and I believe there is a pc version, although I'm not sure. I'm not good at explaining things, so I would suggest researching it to understand it better.

Me and my clean 25 years of not playing competitive games: uh, no, I don't do nor have ever done any of that stuff, for the reasons cited in the video above. I just noticed it when I was still a kid, I guess... I'm a woman though.
I'm REALLY good at games though, gaming has been my main hobby since I was a little kid. I've got all achievements for both Hollow Knight and Hades. I just... Feel like challenging myself, at my own pace from time to time, rather than competing online constantly... But only when a game is so good that becoming masterful at playing it feels like a reward in itself.

I just feel as though there isn’t enough positivity out there and will never be. I want to change that narrative as much as I can, in any way I can. And I also want to get rid of the disconnect between audience and creator, we are not just that, we are all just people walking the same Earth. And while we are here, we might as well try to enjoy and live the most fulfilling lives we can, because if not, then what’s really the point?

This is why I play cozy games, it helps me mentally, ever since covid hit its been hard even. Was in college at the time when everyone is on Zoom and that's when my anxiety took over. After covid, it made it hard for me to talk to people in person. I just got used to staring at a screen. It sucks, people see me normally but in the inside my anxiety would be going through the roof. Calm relaxing games like Stardew Valley, Coral Island, and many other cozy games and some regular games help me cope. Especially when it is with my friends.

As a person that has had crippling anxiety so bad to the point where I’d go into full blown panic attacks during the middle of in person classes at school or anywhere in public, I understand all of that more than ever. I look for the comfort in everything because I have always needed to, if not I’d let the anxiety get the best of me 9/10 times. Thank you for sharing your story, and I hope you have a blessed life.

I love stardew but I often find myself rushing through it and trying to be as optimal as possible. It’s wild how you can take a clam experience and over gameify it to make it stressful
I completely understand what you’re saying. It’s very important to be aware that we all do that, and just slow down. I find myself often rushing through even cozy games just to complete everything I have to, and it doesn’t ever fully fulfill me.

@@johnmcwick1 Oh, I’m aware of that that’s my fault. I did that on purpose, to not seem pushy toward religion as soon as you open the video up. My goal is to always take the word of God and use it in a way to where it introduces people to Christianity and how amazing and uplifting it can be for your life, without just shoving it in your face and having a whole preaching session because some people have sour spots toward religion and Churches in their past. I don’t want to ever even get close to stirring up any bad feelings toward it, so I just quote the main sections that can relate to every day problems that everyone may have. Then, I let the audience take it from there. If they find it enlightening they should take it upon themselves to go seek out more of the word on their own journey, I just open the door for that journey to begin.

Out of all of them I’d recommend Suika Game, Sea of Thieves, Stardew Valley, and Animal Crossing as some gateway games to get you into the genre to begin. You don’t have to be religious at all, and I will never ask anything of any viewer. Either way, most religions have very positive messages morally that just hearing about and following the rule books of, will make you a better person. I only include messages like that in here because I am proud of what I believe in, not because I’m trying to pressure anyone into anything. And, because no matter what you believe in, some messages will help everyone.
cozy games are good but theres also healing in agitation. frequently keeping the mind and senses sharp is healthy. all in moderation.
I feel as though we shouldn’t just solely play one genre or the other as well, but adding the cozy game genre to your catalog will make you enjoy your other games that drive you crazy now, so much more, as your mental will have those breaks that are much needed, and the distance from those games will make coming back to them that much better.

Liked this video a good bit, but i notice a good bit of people that do similar content also are religous in some way i find it odd its so common, even the one who started this revival of this content is, nothing wrong with faith i just think it shouldnt be so forced on, or am i thinking wrong, i dont have much social experiences with people of religon, so not sure how to address things if im not a believer of such, all i know is i am a human, somehow we exist, but i cant say any human religion is real because of the sheer universe there is, no religon can be real until we know its real, all we can have is faith of it being real, but it takes away from what can be seen by our eyes as real, we have a planet, we have other planets, we cant set foot on them too easily but they are there, and other planets exist too that could have life, what is their reality?, life is too complicated, but our efforts of living should be appricated, they dont last forever, and if your life will be making content like this, to inspire others, to give others faith in life, then that's your gift to humanity, i thank you.
I know exactly who you’re talking about when you bring up the style of content. I only wanted to sort of take inspiration from that when it came to the thumbnail though, otherwise it’s all completely my own thoughts, my own beliefs, and who I am completely as a person. I am 100% open and honest when making these as I value that way more than the normal structure of TH-cam content that is popularized right now. I have been talking like this in all of my recent new videos because I saw faults in what I did before, I was too disconnected as a person, trying to hard to just be an influencer and not a person. Also, I completely understand your stance on religion, the world is so complex, you could sit here all day and think about all the different possibilities that could be out there when it comes to outer space and whatever else, but it’s important we take everything we have in front of us as it is and use that to determine our own beliefs off of all of that. We will only truly know what is true until after death. I try my best also to not pry and push anything onto anyone because that’s not the way to spread religion, you’re never supposed to shove anything down anyone’s throat and you are completely correct for saying that, and I’m sorry if you felt that way about this video. My main goal is to just help people be better, live happier lives, and to grow genuine relationships with everyone because we are all just people, I’m not just a person behind a screen, and neither are you.

Not sure about the one at 1:14, but I remember not enjoying any other parts in it besides the part I showed in the video of the driving. The other at 1:23 though is called Lightyear Frontier and it comes out March 19th.
