    Such an informative video Gemma! Ive been spraying the hell out of my setting spray on a daily basis which i now realize is wrong!! I just bought the wet n wild photofocus matte setting spray. It felt surprisingly similar to the urban decay all nighter spray so I took a look at the ingredients. There were 14 ingredients that matched! I think it is a great affordable dupe.

      l pittmon I just purchased this one as well after hearing about it on Tati’s channel. She said the same thing - dup for Urban. Looking forward to trying it out.

      l pittmon thank you for the tip! Also saw it had aloe vera in it, I'm a sucker for anything with aloe. Will try that one out based on your recommendation! :)

      I use this every day. (I have very oily skin even at 47. Even with this I get oily during the day so the alcohol really isn't an issue for me.) Spritzer is a little aggressive. Will probably transfer to an urban decay bottle once it's empty. But the price is AMAZING! I also use their matte primer and foundation. Ridiculous how good they are for the price point.

    Thanks so much for the complete explanation and differences of the sprays. I clearly understand now. I DO want to tell you, though, about my very favorite setting spray (it really IS a setting spray) but without alcohol. It's Blue Marble SELR Sealer Spray. The Green Marble version DOES have alcohol, but the Blue Marble doesn't. I've never experienced a better setting spray. It doesn't act like a primer or finishing spray but as an actual setting spray.

    Thanks so much Gemma! Excellent research. I have been using Chill by Urban Decay which does work well. It lasts a very long time and I am almost done with my first bottle. I was wondering if I should try something else, but after hearing your review, I am going to stick with it . I have sensitive eyes and I did figure out that you need to keep your eyes closed until it dries. I have an old fashioned hand held fan that I keep in my makeup box which makes it dry faster.

    Been binge watching your videos since I found your channel and love the information you give. I have just placed an order for a mix of the ordinary products you recommend and while I was looking online I came across a duo of the travel size urban decay rebound and all nighter on the Feel Unique website for 18 euros (not sure price in £) which I thought was great value and worth mentioning. I was going to go for the Loreal infalible fixing mist but since the urban decay 2-pack was such a good deal I decided to give those a try instead. Thanks for all the advice, much appreciated.

    High Gemma, its Stacie from across the pond in Maryland. Since having both the Photoshop Ready prep & Rebound spray I bought straight from the UD website, I've enjoyed both sprays. I also bought some different brands too like ABH Dewy Set Spray as I had a coupon for them and ordered it online at their site too. I like them very much. No sticky residue & fast drying/sinking into where you want it to go. Thank you as I've never started with any high end brands until I found you. I've been very satisfied for the monies I've spent. Every bit worth "some" things you get what you pay for. I like the idea of Thank ya here from on getting me out of my comfort zone & trying brands I never would have unless I hadn't trusted you hadn't gone WAY before! Cheers! Love on my end to you as I await. 🤗🤗❤❤✌✌xxx!

    Love you and your pretentious flapping! Brilliant information, so well explained. I use a finishing spray, cheap as chips, $4, by ELF. It has lots of good ingredients - Green Tea, Aloe, Cucumber, Vitamins A, C & E. It has no alcohol in the ingredients , but still calls itself an illuminating mist and setting spray. So, I now know that's not right - it's a finishing spray!! It does come in a matte version too. Still a great product.

    Gemma, I too agree that this was a very informative video. I have a question that I hope you could answer. I have a bottle of the MAC Prep + Prime Fix. By the name, Prep + Prime, I can use it as a primer. What about the Fix. For a time this product was all everyone was using as a setting spray. And, the one I have, has a shimmering effect. So, it would make sense to use it last. But it doesn't pass the alcohol rule. Yet, claims to extend wear for 12 hours. Uugggg! I'm sorry. This was quite costly and I'm quite confused on this one. Thank you.

Was surprised not to hear about Mac fix+ which I have been using to “melt” heavy makeup and lock my shimmers on eyelids but was not happy about the spray distribution so I ordered UD rebound to see if it’s better. By the way price on this spray is £26 on most of websites but toady there’s a discount on Lookfantastic website of 20% off. Thank You again ❤️

    Thanks so much! Great info. Is MAC Fix + an all-rounder? Also, I would love to know tips for keeping glam eyeshadow in place. Can I spray it with setting spray? Waterproof primer? I have had some luck putting a cream shadow underneath the powder. I’d love to know especially for mature eyes.

    • @PamperedWolf
      @PamperedWolf  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ari, Fix+ is a priming/finishing spray it's great for spraying one your eyeshadow brushes to intensify pigment, however, it won't make your makeup last longer.
      Have you tried a shadow primer underneath your eye makeup? I use the P Louise one which is EXCELLENT at getting your shadows to stick to your eyelids. xxx

  • @JTdayoneBev
    @JTdayoneBev 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Most priming, setting and finishing sprays have a high alcohol and fragrance in them, which will irritate the skin. I've found the only 2 that preforms well is the Revlon and The Body Shop setting spray. The Body Shop one is amazing for dry skin or if you've over powdered. Thanks for your in-depth review!

  • @nathalieschumann8499
    @nathalieschumann8499 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    This was absolutely helpful, yes! I might go and try out the Urban Decay Chill for certain occasions. With my complicated and very dry skin I must be really careful. So far, I’ve been using only a spritz of La Roche Posay thermal water to “set” my makeup. I’ve been told it could function as a setting spray. Now I’ve learned that that’s not the case because - it being only pure thermal water - it will do nothing to hold your makeup in place. For a primer spray I’ve found something called “Hydration Accelerator Spray” by a small German brand called Nø. They are only starting but they have some very interesting stuff and a very clean and body-positive philosophy. They do only skin-care though, nit makeup. You might want to check them out online, Gemma.

      Hi Maria, like I said in the video it's difficult for me to test primers/setting sprays for oily skin as I don't have oily skin. The L'Oreal setting spray is good for all skin types though so you should be fine with this. If you really suffer with oily skin, spritz some on your skin before and after foundation application. xxx

    So can you use a setting spray such as Chill or All-nighter in place of translucent powder to set foundation, or is it meant to go over the powder as well?
    I've been using a mineral powder foundation for so long that setting sprays didn't even exist the last time I used liquid foundation-we all just used powder to set it! now I've gone back to a liquid, i don't know if I can skip powder and just use a setting spray, or if it's better to use both. I want my foundation to last, but skin is too sensitive for something like the Infallible spray.

    I love the rebound spray. It’s my all time favorite. I have been trying out some other ones like the morphe continuous setting spray. It’s a pretty good one for half the price of what rebound is, and I’m on my second bottle. The cover fx has a new dewy setting spray and it’s alright. I’ve only used it a couple times bc I kept going back to rebound and the morphe one. I have a new one that is hard to get in the US because it’s always out of stock but it’s the catrice dewy setting spray and I think it’s around 7 dollars. I found it in stock and on sale at ulta so I got two for 11. It leaves a really pretty dewy finish. A little goes a long way. Hopefully you can find that in the UK because it’s so good and affordable! I’ve been using the word setting since that’s what on most of those bottles but they’re more finishing sprays. I wish I would have bought the urban decay chill spray before buying the big bottle of all nighter but I’ll know what to buy next for my dry skin and I’m not sure if that exact same L’Oréal spray is being sold in the US anymore. I’m only finding the one in the smaller black bottle.
