I've been eating my pomegranates too. I think the dark red skinned ones of mine (wonderful variety) are not as sweet as the lighter skinned poms. Lots of times they will start to split and you know they are ripe. BTW if you cut the top off first, then score the pomegranate into 4 sections and then pull them apart starting at the top, you don't need to cut into the seeds and they are more accessible. (I saw Martha Stewart to that.) I've had some pomegranate beetles this year that ruined a few. Thanks for the video!
Hi Sheri, thank you for your comment and thank you for sharing about how to cut the Pomegranate, definitely have to try that technique, very cool! Thank you for sharing and thank you for watching!
Yeah the "Wonderful" pomegranate i think is overrated. Its way too tart relative to the sweetness. So many other varieties have way less tartness to it. I think the maketing name give people the impression that its better than other varieties but its just not.
@@johnnysworld-backyardorchard im not that versed in pomegranate varieties, but i do have an eversweet variety. I find that eating the Wonderful cultivar as a first time pomegranate intro is the wrong variety to try. Too much tartness that will turn people away. All the online literature says this is everyone's favorite, which can only imply all other cultivars are worse.
Those are some beautiful pomegranate trees! YUM!! 😋
Thank you Charles for your kind words and thank you for watching! Hope you are doing well!
