  • We wrap up our incredible adventure through Namibia; and make our way to Botswana. Our first night in Botswana is at the Drifters Camp in Maun; a great spot on the Boteti River. Our next morning would be a chance for us to catch up with ourselves and get ready to make our way the Nxai Pan National Park, to visit the famous Baines Baobab's where we would be spending the night. Unexpectedly we departed the Park ahead of schedule, but decided to make our way straight to Khubu Island from Gwetta. This route would be one of the most adventurous yet, crossing 2 massive pans and navigating our way through convoluted and tight bush tracks! But we made it to Khubu in one piece; but grateful for the experience. What an adventure. To be here at Khubu island after everything we had been through was just epic!

Also prices of the little things like camping on the different sites, crossing boarder expenses all activities and even the food bill every now and then just so we have an experience of what it's like to be in a different country and also for those who are planning a budget. It can be really helpful.

    Adrian, what a series! It was for sure one of the most interesting overlanding series about our lovely country Namibia! Thank you for putting it into perspective on the vastness of Namibia. And If I can give you a tip. If you ever visit us again, take a scenic route to Rundu via Tsumkwe and visit the Khaudum. Cheers mate, keep doing what you are doing. @RoamOverlanding  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just find along the road in this particular area is a lot of local farm lands; it’s not as wild and free as it might seem. The parks and private camps tend to be the best way to stay in most of Botswana these days

    Time of year for Gweta to Kubbu Island ….. ? We are scheduled for 8/9 Sept ‘22, but in reverse order, since from Baines to Khumaga, Maun, Moremi etc to Kasane and onwards to Namibia.
    Tyre pressures for Pans …….. ?
    Thnx

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s about A month before us; it should be peak dry season. So it should be great! Try pressure on the pans I keep pretty low 1.4/1.6 maybe lower if if sloppy

    Great content you posting man, dont know how many times i have rewatched. Wanted to us about food and drinks. What are you allowed to cross the border with? or do you buy everything in Botswana.

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  ปีที่แล้ว

      Botswana is quite strict, so definitely dont bring meat across the border. Alcohol should be okay but they are also quite sticky with that. A couple people get through if you ahve enough for just one night and you can convice the border official that you will consume it that night; but otherwise try get in Bots if you can. The meat is pretty good so its not a big deal! But botswana also has internal meat check points. Like leaving Maun to Nxai pan they actually checked us and wanted us to throw our meat out, but we managed to convice him that we just needed it that night in the national park.

    • @RoamOverlanding

      I think Upington, the road's in botswana have soo much live stock; but.. the borders might be quicker these days so maybe botswana.. it is more direct.
