  • In this adventure of Roam Overlanding I would be joined by Emma from The Runaway Blonde, and her trusty Nissan Pathfinder Nala, and we are tackling the Namakwa 4x4 Eco Trail! This is one location that truly deserves its title as an ultimate Overlanding destination in South Africa! The Namakwa 4x4 Eco trail starts in the town of Pella and crosses the northern cape along the Orange river all the way to the Atlantic coastal town Alexander Bay. We start our journey off at the Klein Pella Campsite, heading for the starting point at the church in Pella and traveling through Charles' Pass, after which we lay our eyes on the Orange River for the first time. We offroad and adventure through some good 4x4 action before making our way to the Ramansdrift, a perfect wild camp on the banks of the Orange River! The landscapes and scenery of the northern cape and peeping over the border at Namibia throughout the day was just amazing!

      Lots and lots of that 😂 luckily Andy is there to help a lot with that so we are not always having to use tripods, he can stand and film as we drive through 👌🏻

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah probably; I would just find out about the weather and the state of the river crossings for the trailer; if its nice and try then I dont think it will be an issue, if its wet I would maybe avoid it with the trailer.

    Great video! It is actually really refreshing to hear you comment on Emma's pathfinder about being totally stock, and you rightfully mention you can have epic adventures with a stock vehicle. So true and refreshing to watch an overlanding video that does not try and convince people you have to have a R70k full suspension upgrade to tackle these roads.

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely! But I do still love my R70k suspension 🤭🤭 hahah! But it’s certainly not necessary, but for my work it’s great to have something super solid that I can do big trip after big trip and abuse my vehicle in rough terrains day in and day out, and be comfortable 👌🏻 but for the average person who does maybe one trip a year, the important thing is to get out there and do the trip, more so than cripple yourself with equipment anxiety, and my hope for this series was to do just that

  • @paulhendriksz5756

    Hi Adrian,
    I love your videos and choice of music with your cinematic B-roll and story line.
    I am just scared that you will find this out too late but lately a lot of your footage is out of focus, or the background is in focus and your subject out of focus. It wasn't the case in previous series but in the latest it happens all the time.

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahah don’t worry Paul! I know about the focus already. We swapped lenses in capetown and had to loan a new one when our other got sandblasted from filming, the new Len’s didn’t support Face detect autofocus on our camera, and the focus point seems to be a needle prick in the middle of the shot. So it is what it is, I’d rather share the story have it out of focus than share nothing 😂 but we love and learn. New camera and Lens for the next series

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe greater Namqualand extends all the way up into Namibia; it translates to Land of the Nama Khoe people, so wherever they used to live is technically Namakwa land. Unless you mean that Pella is named after a city in Mesedonia.
