I wouldn't call Kiwami a guilty pleasure. Some songs like "For Who's Sake" are fucking amazing. Butterfly City, on the other hand, are more of an acquired taste.

I love this, it perfectly encapsulates the LAD series. Kamurocho is as much a character as the rest of the cast and it's a town that feels removed from the rest of the world, rife with heroes and villains, conspiracies and constant stories unfolding.
It's not a bad Soundtrack, it just gives a whole different feel to the intro and people cannot get used to that new feel so they hate on it. I personally like both openings : JP and PAL

I have a similar relationship with this song like I had with Yakuza Kiwami 2's Sound of Breath. At first I found them extremely cringeworthy, but on my third or second time hearing them I absolutely fell in love with them. And now the Yakuza 4 intro is the only Yakuza intro that I always watched in full before playing 😅

@@DavidHosey1 Exactly. I'd agree that it takes away from his character IF it had no point besides absolve Saejima of guilt, but that's not the case. The plot twist resulted in Saejima feeling like he was being used all along, and led to him feeling even worse than he did before, which was a major part of his motivation at the end. It wasn't just some cheap last minute twist thrown around because RGG doesn't like murderer protagonists, like people say, it was a key part of his character arc in the game

What I hate is that Katsuragi later goes out of his way to kill those 18 men, like it makes Katsuragi look like a fucking idiot for making such a complex plan only for him to end up killing those 18 people instead of going through simpler ways to get rid of them

@@ronuster5936 At5 close range even rubber bullets would be lethal, specially prototype, untested riot rounds that i still don't know how sugiuchi could've put his hands on, since he was not that high position in the police by that time, the there is the writers trying to connect Munekata with those 10 billion yen from the first game, and i have a hard time believing he could move that amount of money without raising suspicion even if it is to build a prison, that amount would make a lot of people suspicious, if he was someone in a position like Jingu had in the first game it would be a little more believable, the bullets also cheapen Saejima's character for me as the writers are desperate to not let you play as someone who kills people in cold blood, despite them being criminals and Majima and Saejima being of the mind that a Patriarch's orders are absolute.
