These are beautiful. I absolutely love Sin City and Frank Miller is still a favorite, might have to gradually pick up a set. I still have all my old trades I've read repeatedly but these would be awful nice on the ol bookshelves. Great review as always, Omar, thank you.
I still have my way old school trades of these. One of the only books I never upgraded. And I read those trades some many damn times too. I just love the old school covers.
It would have been good if the slipcase spines had been designed to spell Sin City, much like the slipcase fronts. Well done to collectors who dropped the $700 for the set!
Sin City is millers best work. period. what he does with only blacks and whites, i see one one else come close to how amazing his work is in SC! Inclueding what he did previously and after.
Would be cool if Miller had added a bit more colour in the new edition. Just an occasional red element for the blood splatter, maybe a green outfit/hair or yellow in artificial eye etc. Also $59.99 for each should be enough.
I ended up getting the trades of these 7 volumes. These are beautiful though, but I'll probably just stick with the trades. Gotta budget somewhere lol.
I have the old two volume library edition. (8 books this size in two slipcases, 4 books per case) The spines look cooler in these, but I can't justify "upgrading" given how expensive these are.
I have the same 'problem' own the two slipcase editions completeing the entire sin city run, very good looking editions, but having trouble spending a 100bucks per book here for the same story. but these editions look so good.
Wonder why so few people point out how ugly his art devolved over those volumes. The art in Hard Goodbye was beautiful. Also the NMC censoring logos didn't stay on the video long enough.
The first page of the first Sin City may be my favorite comic book page ever. Since then, and because of this comic, I learned about Jose Muñoz, Hugo Pratt and other obvious influences. Unfortunately by the Big Fat Kill the series started to delve in some boring and pretentious verbosity which lost me - I was LOL during the movie. Yet I still love the first volume.
DC needs to print a Batman by Miller omnibus and call it "Big Goddamn Batman"

These would look awesome on the shelf. Do I need a 4th format of this series...

I wondered why they were doing this treatment since we had the library editions but then I realized those are about 20 years old. I am old.
I think they are more valuable than the new ones

I'm so glad I got these. Now I can forget how much I spent on them.
Is it worth it tho?
@@andrecrispim3209 hell yeah! I'd buy them all over again if I had to
I love my set, thank you for showcasing Omar!
Hey Omar Got the whole set. Just awesome.

I really wanted to get in on these volumes but I already had the omni and couldn't justify the expense.

I wish they just dropped the books without the portfolio pieces. Same with Usagi, I want the nice book but don't need the signature.

I enjoy the Walt's Comics jingle. Good job on coming up with that, and the courage to sing it 🙂
Frank Miller's Sin City !!!
They look awesome, but I’ll be sticking with the small white editions I currently have, they’re good for me.
MY GOOOODNESS!
oh wow those are beautiful. It’s too bad I already have Big Damn Sin City
it's a big damn shame.
@@vforwombat9915 hahaha I see what you did there 😝
Big damn deal!

I have those, I had 8 custom slipcases made with an overlapping spine design. No regrets. :)
These 7 volumes look beautiful together side by side, but I just won't have the shelf space to 'upgrade' from by Big Damn omni
😅
Too much waste of space IMHO. I need the Big Damn edition, but it's OOP by now. And Ebay guys charging 250 bucks for it's out of question for me :D

Super duper ultra mega Kamehameha edition . Good lord 😆
Hopefully they reprint the big damn sin city eventually
Wallace hallucinated Hägar the Horrible?
I only have the first two volumes so they provide me with Spanish positive affirmation

Amazing how Miller took inspiration from latin american comic masters!

Is the Big Damn Sin City be back to print?
Way too expensive for a series of which the quality isn't strong enough throughout its entire run.
they should’ve reprinted big damn sin city book
I went with the TPBs.
That's where I'm at. I like the idea, but I'm not spending $400+ for Sin City. I'm also hoping for a BD reprint.
My feelings exactly
@@fatmanyrhaw9423 yes they really should
Are these the same size as a DC absolute?
Yes, they are.
The Comic printing community really has the OCD people wrapped around their fingers.....
So nice, but so expensive...
I don't own any Sin City trades, and I'm not which format I want (and can realistically afford) to buy...
Looks good but way to expensive for me
Cool but pricey

Are you...... buying a new copy just for the ISBN sticker?
