Chords are built from scales. A triad is the most simple type of chord, it consists of 3 notes. To construct a triad you must take the 1st, 3rd and 5th. You could think of it as playing the root note, skipping the next note of the scale and playing the next one. Again, skip the following note and play the next one. These three notes create a triad. You can get major triads as well as minor triads (and more!).
You can also play these chords in different inversions. To do this, move whichever note is on the bottom of the chord to the top.

Many thanks, I've been looking for "piano chords book free download" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Nonason Ranincoln Genie - (should be on google have a look )?
It is a great one of a kind guide for discovering how to play the piano like a pro minus the hard work. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my m8 got great success with it.

Yasss. Been playing/knowing certain chords, from those piano synthesizer videos, without actually knowing the exact chord unless I thought of the practiced song in my head 😂. Thank you for this. Makes things much clearer 💕.
Note to Self: White chord triads are minors, black and white make majors/sharps, white uneven separations make majors with diff ways.

If I had this is 1998... I'd be the British Max Martin.
*I always thought that chords were played with the left hand and righties jus had to get used to it...* 😞
My school music 'teacher' would give us lettered music to play on a keyboard (AXEL F etc...) then leave the room until the end of the 'lesson'. Useless. Thanks to people like this guy, anyone who now has an instrument they want to learn and an internet connection will never not have exactly what they want.

I learned how to play basic piano on my own by looking up piano chords on safari, saving them, printing them, pasting them on my bedroom wall and searching for guitar chords (because i know how to play the guitar). I found the tutorial slow paced and slightly complex than it actually is. But don't get me wrong this video is so much better than the others and is much, much simpler. But if you still don't get it, even if you don't know how to play the guitar, just memorize piano chords, look up guitar chords for a song you want, play it depending on the octave, (how low or how high the song is) depending on the pace, (how fast the tempo is) and add the base chord or base note for just a little bit of umph. And as some of you may know, many pop song are played with the same four chords; C, G, Am and F namely, Obla-di-obla-da by the beatles, High Hopes by P!atd, Girls like you by Maroon 5, Let it be also by the beatles and many more other songs. Never give up and always strive to be better at what you're doing. Goodluck!
