The internet killed some of the mystique. Some over-use it, some never use it and are labeled reclusive. We're used to having too much information.

Ihope the "trend" goes out of syle. I buy a ticket to see the band, not some some fan on stage feeling they got lucky, that nobody would give two fiddles about their participation. Congrats for interesting insight!

So true. Steel Panther is very guilty of this. Ofcourse its all set up months in advance. Quite a few of said guitar players, I follow on IG. Theyre quite good. But yes, the stage is sacred ground. The Dimebag incident is most notorious, which happened just a few miles from me. Motley had fans come on stage during their Generation Swine tour, it was chaos (which is what they wanted). Stage is for the band, for safety, insurance! And ofcourse we pay to see the bands, not unknowns. 🤘🦇🕷♠️🔥 -J.s.

I think stage diving broke that barrier with the introduction of bands like Pantera and other punk thrash metal bands and even grunge acts like Pearl Jam who allowed audience members to jump on stage and then dive into the crowd. I have been seeing footage of bands like Foo Fighters asking people out in the audience to get on stage to jam with them and although I think it's a funny gesture, really didn't pay to see amateurs get allowed to jam with professional musicians. Seemed like a waste of time and fans money.
Absolutely agree about stage diving. I hated it then and I hate it now. And I agree about the amateurs on stage. Thanks for watching!
