In this learning module, you can learn the basics about Hydro pumps.
The following training objectives are to be achieved with this module:
- You should be able to describe the basic functions and operating principles of hydraulic pumps.
- You should be able to state important distinguishing features of standard pumps and explain their importance.
- You should be able to list 6 types of standard pumps and their most important distinguishing characteristics.
- As a typical representative of fixed pumps, you should be able to explain the design, function and characteristics of external gear pumps.
- As a typical representative of variable displacement pumps, you should be able to explain the design, function and characteristics of bent-axis and swashplate pumps.
- You should be able to calculate pump flow rate and hydraulic pump power.
- You should be able to define and differentiate between volumetric and mechanical #efficiency, as well as total efficiency, and sketch their qualitative progressions as a function of load pressure.
