- #Mumbai-based foundation ‘Gully Classes’ in collaboration with ‘River Clean Up’, Belgium-based Non-Profit organisation conducted a clean-up drive at Mumbai’s #MithiRiver. Before and after picture is a testimony of their efforts.

What a great guy! In the current world where everyone knows the importance to protect the environment, but not many of them are actually doing much. This guy is real activism!
There's millions of litter pickers. It's the governments, and companies who don't take action and still produce single-use plastic.
These kinda awareness needs to be developed among everyone in our country. Sadly very low percentage of people have this and the reason is education
Need more volunteers. Impose fine. Sensatize people.
Congrats Abdul Kareem for this tremendous effort! To make this effort viable, Indian govt. has to bring an efficient sanitation system where the litter is picked up everyday, the government has to spend on this, no other option! In addition, it should start fining public for littering, pooping and urinating in public. Our supposed swatch’s bharath needs to go a long way, now!above and beyond!

Technically it's govt job to do this.. They need to come up with better waste management plans and implement it but sadly BMC is garbage dump itself

Rightly said, Mumbai Municipal Corporation should be serious about developing segregated waste collection system from each and every waste generators, giving ample of awareness and imposing fine. With regards to industries untill they set up affluent treatment facility they needs to be ceased to run

Get rid of shanties ( as one flies over Mumbai the blue tin sheets are a eyesore) and go vertical free up space and Mumbai can rival Hong Kong.
Versova beech Juhu beech Bandra station east side mithi river Mumbai is becoming a cesspool. Mavi Mumbai Powai marine drive etc are do world class.

My inputs: Educating about sookha and geela kachra is not enough, we should understand and segregate food/natural/bio-degradable waste from clothes/plastic/non bio-degradable/recyclable waste.

Build walls on both sides of the river and don't allow people near it for next 10 years at least...river will clean itself with minimal help from the BMC..
