YES! Dog's and cat's especially. We got my special dog when I was eight. He died when I was 18. I grieved for year's. At 32 I got a cat for my then young child and me. She died at 17 from cancer. I grieved for literally 16 years. My new love, Babette, a Siamese mix, is four now. One day she too will leave me. However, "Grief is the price we pay for love." They're ALL worth it ❤️🙏
I’m a big believer in a dog 🐕 is present in a child’s life. I feel that the child learns more about life from the dog and also respect for all creatures ❤
Great but animals REALLY shouldn't be allowed to lick babies, toys or any equipment they use. It's important to remember that they lick their backsides and just about anything else that they may come into contact with that you really don't want your wee ones to come into contact with.
Why people think it so cute that the cat, dog or any other animal have this kind of intimate contact is great is completely beyond me; in the worst cases it can have life altering or life threatening consequences - especially if we're talking about rurally located families and their animals. Having grown up on a farm, you can understand why I have a keen appreciation of this. Once children are a little bit older, they can be taught to wash their hands after handling animals and before eating or drinking so licking of hands isn't such an issue.
Not everyone bothers to vaccinate or dose their animals.

I am so grateful that these parents kept their dog for the baby. I did that with mine and it worked out well. I volunteer for animal rescues and so many dogs are surrendered to our high kill animal shelter because of a new baby.😪

my 100lb dog used to be SO NERVOUS around children, but he always loved babies. now we live in a neighbourhood with so many kids that he not only has gotten over his fear, but he actively wants to go up and say hi ❤️

I'm a bit worried about the baby with the rubber tyre around her neck in the water 😬
Very sweet but so gross that the dog, as lovely as Goose is, is allowed to lick the baby and her toys. Animals can carry all sorts of pathogens in their saliva which, in the worst cases, can be either life altering or life threatening. First rules of thumb we were taught as kids was be gentle, first and don't let the dogs lick your face, second.
It's a good thing to increase her immune system.

@@childoftheuniverse2644 Not at that young an age. Their immune systems are far too underdeveloped. Infections can range from a mere fever to jawbone eating viral loads, leptospirosis, cardiac issues on to sepsis which is incredibly hard to treat in such a young infant and frequently fatal. Ask any Veterinarian.

Theoretical anything is possible.
@@childoftheuniverse2644 Brucellosis, leptospirosis & hydatids aren't anything to be so flippant about. They can make an adult [profoundly] ill. It's why farm kids are taught NOT to let a dog lick your face and to wash hands BEFORE eating and drinking. Good hygiene matters.
