I had a female Bull Mastiff and she was the very best dog I ever had. Sweet, gentle and loving personality. Always had very small dogs before her but IF I ever get another dog, it would be that breed. Losing her was too painful.

i worked on a job site where they had a guard bull mastiff. The dog was no joke, was huge highly aggressive and extremely DANGEROUS towards strangers. Any time the owner let the dog out (on a tightly held leash) the dog would charge forward in one direction. Everyone on the site had to be standing on the sides away from the direction it was headed. Would bark very aggressively at all people except family. Was very good with the family and the standard poodle they had too. So there is good reason for people to be wary of this type of dog, they were bred to protect estates from poachers. That said, this dog is frikkin adorable and I'm glad to see it's a giant sweetheart.

Mastiffs and great danes are both usually really nice dogs....they're just BIG! lol

true but you have to understand that bull mastiffs can be highly aggressive towards strangers depending on how they are raised/socialized. The bullmastiff was developed during the mid-19th century by British gamekeepers to protect country estates from poachers. But if properly socialized it's a giant sweetheart.
Mastiff's are lovely dogs! They are incredibly sweet, loving and are cuddle monster's!! Such wonderful doggos. Meech is the perfect example of their gentle nature.

The food bills must be tremendous.....but so is the LOVE...💖 (the love outweighs the investment.)
My Bullmastiff ate 10 cups of kibble a day plus around 8 oz of meat plus treats. But it's actually the vet bills that are really expensive. Drugs are priced by dosage & a 165 lb dog gets very expensive sized doses! Just his yearly vaccinations were about $800!
@@joelhansen7373 I had a black lab back in the '93. We lived in a low lying forest in Maryland...and of course he got heartworms....the vet bill was $400 X 2 treatments....back then!!! And Now charging treatment by the pound? I can see the day of "Doggy Health Insurance" coming... Vet bills are getting as expensive as health care for a child.
Giant puppers are the best. My Great Dane, Otis, was the biggest love bug. Most people just reacted to his size, he was about 180 pounds, but once they took a moment to pet him, they couldn't help but love him.

Mastiffs are one of my top favorite breeds.
What an absolute muffin, a treasure of a boy that I would squishy-squish and love every second of the day. But I think their origins are English mastiff and the extinct Olde English Bulldog.

We have a pit bull who has a little mastiff in her. She's 100 lbs and very tall. People often back away or won't come near here because of her looks and size. But she's just like Meech. She LOVES everybody she meets and wants to hug and give kisses. She's the sweetest dog ever, lives with two cats (who rule) and likes it when the neighbor's little ones flop on top of her. She just smiles and wags her tail. EVERYBODY is her friend as far as she's concerned. She has a little stubbornness in her too but is generally a very obedient dog. We love her like crazy.
You can see that boy hasn't got a bad bone in his body. What a big sweetheart 😘

Until someone tried to harm his owners, then you may see a different side of him. Bull Mastiffs are very protective of their owners & property.
He is good sized for sure, but he seems, as his human friend says, to be a good and gentle dog. He is pretty cool.

I sure miss both of my English Mastiffs! The greatest dogs I have ever owned!!! Never needed a fence, they learn your property and most have no need to ever wonder off…😂❤❤❤ girl weighed 182 and boy little over 200lbs.. both lived 10 years.
I owned a BullMastiff. His name was Cooper. Big dumb baby. He topped off one time at 172lbs, but usually ran around 169lbs. Loved Rediwhip
I grew up with a bullmastiff when I was a toddler to when I was in elementary school. He was good to me and he never hurt me
I also have a Bullmastiff. Not quite as big as Meech but just as much a massive cuddle bunny whose only threat to human life is her drool. It’s the tiny ankle biters like dachshunds and so on with their little ‘person’ syndrome who can be the aggressive ones. Meech is marvellous 🩶
Meech is so lovable and sweet. I think it’s great how he shows all he wants is get petted by others. He is not aware of his size. He thinks he is a lapdog. 😊
I had a friend who had a 150 pound Rotti named Sweetie-pie. People were scared when they saw her. She was a total sweetie pie. I remember that she would get so happy if you rub her belly.

I had a Bull Mastiff as a nanny when I was a baby. She was trained by my RSM dad, in English and Housa, just for fun. She taught me to walk apparently. I would crawl and topple about. She would nudge me with her huge head (28 inch neck, 120lbs) I would make a grab, jowls, ears, neck, she didn’t care, then she would gently lift me up onto my feet, and off we would go, slowly, slowly... My father adored her and never got over the loss of her. He could never face another dog after that. The pain was too much. 💚☘️🐾

Absolutely love Bull Mastiffs. They seems to be one of the sweetest, cuddliest breeds around - when raised well. I've always had a soft spot for massive cuddly breeds like this, St. Bernard, etc. So sweet. 😍🐶❤

My wife and me have been lucky enough to have 2 Bull Mastiffs a English Mastiff and currently have a Dogue de Bordeaux (French Mastiff ) and all of them have been gentle and loved cuddles and all have been stubborn
Lucky you. I had three bullmastiffs growing up and they were all like Meech. Very sweet yet a tad stubborn. So I have a huge soft spot for the mastiffs. Cuddle your Dogue de Bordeaux for me.

He's a velcro! It's incredible the Gentle giants are such cuties. We have 2 great Danes who are velcro's also, and It was good to see the stubborn streak in Meeck. She clearly love her dog and the dog loves her. And the dog needed a home with a very large yard; a farm, not an apartment. It's too bad when she went to find herself a dog she did not take that into account, regardless that he was cute.
It's true that finding the right match between owner and dog's needs is crucial for a happy and fulfilling relationship. Dogs thrive when their living environment suits their needs, especially for breeds that require ample space to roam. Hopefully, both the owner and the dog can find a solution that benefits them both. 🐾
