I love it too. I am sitting here pondering putting a circle skirt on that bodice though......

Hello Diana! Happy Belated 4th of July! ❤🤍💙 🎆🎆🎆 The zipper pulls are adorable! The backpack collaboration will be fun! The dress you're wearing looks very pretty. I think darting both sides should take care of the extra fabric on the dress you're wearing. The pink fabric is beautiful. I'm glad you had a great family time! 🍿🍭🎉 Safe travels to Germany! 🚙

I recommend the Hilton Garden inn in the Frankfurt airport. Located in the terminal which makes it really easy. You can buy a SIM card at any gas station. Enjoy the trip.
    Great dress. ❤🧵🧵

I buy a SIM card for my phone as soon as I enter a new country. It’s as high as $30 for a month but a safety issue, for sure. Nice dress, by the way. I love Cashmerette. Your bodice is a little big . Increase the dart, maybe take 1/2 inch off of the length. Remember different fabrics fit differently with the same pattern. That linen will have no give. So, perhaps, it will fit? It’s always a of an adventure.

I found an app called Global Yo where I can just buy an eSIM for whatever I want. It’s great!

I make a LOT of bags … Sew Sweetness patterns are good, and her directions are easy to follow. Be very careful with the vinyl … the right machine and the right needles are crucial. You might want to try a canvas one in between the cotton and. Vinyl ones.

Great! I can’t ask you for advice! I have a Juki TL 2010. Is that ok for vinyl? I know I’ll need a Teflon foot. Are there special needles like Teflon?

@@TheWanderingSewist So I have a Juki 1181n industrial machine … it takes a specific needle type. I usually use size 18 or 19 needle. I think the machine you have is the same one or very similar to or maybe even the same as Sara’s from Sew Sweetness machine. But she makes fabric bags mostly, if not only. I know you could probably do a canvas bag on that machine, and maybe a waxed canvas bag too. Since it’s a backpack, there shouldn’t be a need to add any foam or anything like that. Also since you want to use vinyl, you will likely be able to skip any interfacing or Decovil additions … that will help reduce the bulk. Yes definitely use a teflon foot, or better yet you might want to try a walking foot. I would cut a few pieces of your vinyl to play around with before you cut out the pattern pieces, and play around stitching it in any ways. You’ll also want to use a longer stitch length throughout the project. There is often a lot of top-stitching in bag-making. Let me know how you make out, and if I can answer any other questions.

Thank you so much for all the tips. Yes, my machine is the same one as Sara's.

I don't think the bodice piece is too big. It looks more like maybe you are a little short waisted, at least on the sides from the bust to the waist. I think first see if pulling the bodice itself down a little at the sides at the waistband gets rid of the excess fabric, and if so, take it apart at the side waist seams and get rid of the excess. If not, just see if you can somehow sew the extra fabric under the dart into the dart itself. I'm just worried though that it might result in some puckering along the dart. I don't really know. You don't seem to have excess fabric between your bust. The fit there looks perfect and the bodice length in the front looks perfect, so I think it just might be a little long on the sides and also the back, because it looks like there are little folds of fabric just above the back waistband.

I knew I was shot waisted but didn’t think of it! Thanks for the tip😀
