Great video!!! Very nice ride and it sounds killer!!! 👍🏻👍🏻 I have a Silver one myself.
    “Peasants” would be number 6.
I’d have to have the pedals and steering wheel on the left side where it belongs. :p

Spot on with the the flaws. I had 2005 and it had same issues with gear trim broken and steering control not working but still one of the best rides I had

    Hi,
If you want your gearbox to be faster they sell solenoids costing around 400 dollars that increases gearshift speed in addition to overlap control valve to avoid harsh, bumpy, or flare shifts that costs 68 dollars.

I agree with all of the problems you brought-up, however, except for the under performing brakes on your C55, W203 chassis cars have parts that break that have never broken on any other car, like jacked up switches, vents, grab handles that pull out of their anchors….all before 100000 miles! FYI…the front rotors of a C36 are massive, yours look like they’re from a C230! All in all, amg aside, a W202 car has none of those types of problems even at 200000 miles…

Few comments from fellow c55 owner:
    1) it is possible to install 6 pot front and 4 pot rear callipers. The same as used on early slk 55 and then c63 that followed. It was also an amg perf. package option from factory but expensive
    2) Gearbox is slow but robust and reliable. It is also really understressed in the c55 and hence you can abuse it with no issues.
    3. Rattle in dash is likely to be air vent stepper motor. There are no less than a dozen and it is a common issue. I have it rattle occasionally at low fan speeds.
    4. Agreed on trim rattle from bass it is annoying.
    5. It is possible to replace cd changer in glove compartment with a dab radio and Bluetooth module that fully integrates with comad including steering wheel functions. You also then get more storage space. I plan to do this upgrade :)
    6. Get an lsd. Again it was a amg performance package option that like the brakes I luckily have but there are plenty of aftermarket options

      Thanks for the input!
I addressed the car in it’s stock form, as most C55’s are and what future buyers can expect. I watched dozens of videos before buying it and none mentioned these slight flaws.
I’m disassembling the button soon, seeing if I cannot find an elegant way to make it stop rattling. Should I make a video about it?

Also I have one in silver sitting in my driveway and I just cleaned it today and it looks awesome 👌
I bought it cheaper because it had a check engine light on and by replacing the mass airflow sensor and vacuum pipes it solved the problem and also I replaced the discs and pads and its my first mercedes and by far my most favourite car

I bought a used 2007 C230 Sport (not an AMG C55 of course), but all the same issues. If you buy a W203 be prepared to invest a good sum of money to fix and upgrade this vehicle. All the issues you had, I had as well. I replaced everything from wood trim to switches, and tons more and got rid of the audio system completely for an upgraded CarPlay tablet and the car is now absolutely amazing. And yes, I don't allow passengers either as they are truly peasants in cars like this....lol!

Mine is a last year production so 2008 albeit a c280. Suffice to say it has non of the issues you mention, perhaps it’s because it’s the facelift model. I keep looking for 2007/8 model car but sadly production for the c55 was finished in 2006 phase 1 model.

Sit in a new Mercedes and listen to the creaks and rattles. This was one of the best built C Classes ever.
Way ahead of its time. We have a 2004 C220 cdi and it has no rattles. 320,000kms. It doesn't have flaws like the new ones do.

The secondary air injection pump keeps blowing the fuse, and since I’m either way going to be tuning it, they can just deactivate it and EGR. Amazing car, I just bought mine sight unseen from Japan, and sadly got a basketcase

Biggest issue is the rpm like you said but it is a sports car my bmw would rev just as high going 100 mph and the fuel economy driving at highway speeds is poor but overall very nice car

Nice car, almost impossible to find one in such good condition here in germany. most are very rusty and neglected.
problem with the issues, even it was a very expensive car, it is a mercedes from the era with the lowest quality because of cost cutting everywhere. and after all, it's just a c-class. i own a W220 S500 of this era and even the s-class is a disappointment in resepct of material quality. but the M113 is rock solid. btw. i have to do the same paper thing because of rattling and droning.

Going to be buying one in California on Tuesday for 18k @82k miles. So hyped, the downsides mainly included all electronics which is expected and I daily a 94 integra so lack thereof electronics if they were to go out in the c55 would not be detrimental to my standards

Brother you need to learn voice techniques and get your voice fixed because you have some real problems with your voice box.
Unless you were in a fire, your voice should not be sounding the way it does. What gives? Can you please let me know if you have had a problem in the past? I am not making any accusations toward you. I just am a pro vocalist and extremely disturbed by what I’m hearing in your voice.

Hi, thanks for reaching out. I have never had any trauma happen, it’s just always been that way. I visited a vocalist and I was quoted a number larger than my car cost, also not covered by the medical aid. (In Namibia the state doesn’t offer any specialist medical assistance)
So I learned to live with it. Could I possibly get in touch with you somehow?🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
