I'm sure you've read it already but there's a book called Hook and Jill. I believe it's by Andrea Jones. I think it's a series too but I went to a convention years ago and she was there selling her books so I bought it because I always liked Peter Pan. It's a romancey type book too. Don't remember too much because it was a long time ago but there's another one in case you haven't read it already haha.
I started reading peter pan like yesterday and all these concepts are hitting really different now. Hook and tinker bell???? Isn't she the size of a fist or something????
Peter Pan has made me uncomfortable since childhood. He always seemed more like the villain. The only times I've enjoyed adaptations are Hook (the movie) and Once Upon a Time, and I think that's largely because they DO put emphasis on Hook.
My question would be did you read the book as a kid or only saw adaptations? Because I have yet to see an adaptation actually capture Peter correctly because almost every single one ages him up which fundamentally changes his character because he is supposed to be the epitome of pure and innocent because he's only supposed to be like 4 or 5 years old 😂 he's an infant in the original tale from Little White Bird
