I'm no expert, but I think the numbness and feeling like you can't breathe/might die in the car was from a panic attack. People often misuse that term when they're having anxiety attacks, but panic attacks are completely different and much more severe (and not even necessarily triggered by anxiety, though it sounds like yours was). An actual panic attack is a physical sensation that often resembles a heart attack and/or feeling like you're going to die. Numbness is a common symptom of panic attacks. They are extremely distressing and scary. Glad you're ok!

Unbelievable… yes hindsight is 20/20 and he wasn’t having something potentially life threatening happening to him, but that’s something that an ER in the states would have taken you in immediately. I’m no way is the states healthcare system perfect, but this is what you get with a universal healthcare system. They make you wait for hours for pretty much anything, with some exceptions I’m sure, but the wait times are just insane. Plus I don’t think you would want gov. Bureaucrats decide what procedures your allowed to get and when, and the main thing to realize is that private health care still exists in Canada, so the super wealthy can pay more and still receive this care faster and more efficiently because they can afford it.

I get there may be some positives to a system like that, but the negatives far outweigh the positives in my opinion. Plus there’s just such a high level of advancements in medicine and medical science when you allow a free market inflow of money into it.
Boss status though! Worst hospital experience I’ve ever had was visiting Canada by far. That’s including a hospital in Mexico. Both were similar injuries with lots of blood.

Hey Nick! This has happened to me but I was diagnosed with panic attacks. They really feel like you are about to die, my hands would feel tingly as if I’m loosing circulation and I wouldn’t be able to feel anything but as soon as I got to the hospital all will feel fine because I would think... well I’m at the hospital and I am safe here with the doctors. It’s definitely a nightmare, I am no expert but maybe that’s what happened to you. Take care!

Guys if you're ever in pain or have anxiety or something like that just remember to not think terrible thoughts, it makes it worse, just chill out and try not to think about it, distract yourself and be normal, it's always the thinking that makes it worse, trust me.
