I learned a trick from eating a bunch of super hots a few years ago, even though it seems counter intuitive, close your mouth and don't open it for several minutes. Eventually the saliva build up in your mouth will dull the screaming heat to a more tolerable level. Taking drinks of milk, although it sooths for the second, seems to reignite the sensation of max pain once you open your mouth again lol

Honestly, if you want to get a sense of how hot these peppers are, the secret is to only eat a small piece. You will be amazed how hot even a tiny sliver of Ghost, Scorpion or Carolina Reaper can be!

I did the test just moments ago and was searching for videos of others who did the same non sense I did. My experience had two differences: the pepper was already dehydrated, which seems to potentialize its effect. Secondly, the capsaicin got stuck in my tonsils and my uvula, not my tongue. The pain was excruciating. I drunk one quart of yogurt, until it finally subsided. It was probably the worst pain I ever felt.

Me and my friends was all partying around the buying fire one night. Of course we was all drunk and somebody said I bet there's nobody here that will eat a whole habanero pepper. So I looked around and out of all the people that was there around the bonfire party and nobody said anything so the guy said I will pay somebody $100 if they will eat the whole habanero pepper. Nobody took him up on that offer so I looked at him and I said show me the $100. He showed me and he gave it to somebody to hold to prove that I would get the $100 and I ate the habanero pepper. Not grew up with all brothers and all uncles so I grew up a tomboy in the country. So I consider myself pretty tough but I tell you what. I ate the whole habanero pepper but that was the worst pain I have ever been in in my life. It felt like somebody was just stabbing my tongue and mouth millions and millions and millions of times over and over and over again. I ate some bread trying to kill the pain with something and somebody said eat some bread so I ate bread like a half a loaf and it did not work. Come to find out you can drink milk and it will kill the burning and pain. So then I was dared another time to eat a Carolina reaper. That was a bit too I just don't remember what the BET was that I won but I did eat the Carolina reaper and it was hotter than the damn habanero pepper and I thought habanero peppers was the hottest ones there was till I ate a Carolina reaper. Needless to say it made me cry like a baby too. I was not tougher than that pepper. Lol.

Another thing people do not seem to realize is that milk is not the best think for you. ACID is.. Capsaicin, being Alkaline, can be neutralized with something acidic. Lemons, for example. While it will not remove the heat, it WILL shorten the duration and stop the bombardment of your receptors. If you want a good example of how well it works, eat something like a Jalapeno or something that is hot but more mild with much lower capsaicin level. Then eat a lemon.. It will relieve the heat very fast. Ghost and Reaper Peppers tho have such high concentration and they attack the receptors so violently, that even after neutralization, it will take time to fade.
I made a curry for two and used HALF a reaper. Half a reaper in a curry that filled a medium sized pan. And even then, it was far too hot for me. Took me one hour and 45 minutes to finish it, and I needed 4 naan breads and 2 pints of milk. It's no joke. I think maybe if I'd have cooked it for an extra 2 hours it might have helped. Or maybe using 1/8th of a pepper. So eating a whole one raw is just mental.
Good job!! Tip for next time? When you put the milk in your mouth, spit it out. Swallow a little for your throat, but spit out 90% of it and some heat will go with it. :)
