I have one of the QC-deficient Animated Prime versions. The legs are okay enough, but my torso is all kinds of funky and won't go together neatly in bot or truck mode. Very disappointed, I had been looking forward to a modernized version to replace my OG Animated Prime with. Not gonna happen anytime soon though. :)
My Animated Prime's right arm mushroom peg (I think that's what it is called) was partly messed up so I could never rotate the arm unless I just wanted to take off the arm. It was so saddening. But I got Motormaster and I am happier
The animated stunticons were all some redecos of other bots, so it's not impossible if the original characters get made first. And the original characters again could be pretty good retools or new molds too. Hasbro after all really likes saving money, so I can see all animated stunticons having toys over 2-3 years.
I can only imagine how kick-ass COMMAMDER CLASS ANIMATED MEGATRON would be. I hope they go with that scaling for the Decepticons and make all the big ones Leaders and stuff

I’m making my own animated stunticons using the same characters there recolord as Like for example Jazz= dead end Arcee= dragstrip Hotrod= break down Lockdown= wild rider And where already getting Motormaster
I tend to not look up videos on a figure if I get it before a bunch of reviews of it are made, and my copy of the Legacy Animated Optimus was perfectly fine and I absolutely loved it; so I had no clue it had QC problems.
Mine only had the issues with the mushroom pegs and the back not wanting to tab in perfectly, but there’s a bit that sticks out on the mushroom pegs that I just trimmed off and now it’s just fine
now we have Animated Motormaster, i do see them making the animated Stunticons like 86 Arcee-Dragstrip, Jazz-Dead End, Hot Rod-Breakdown And Lockdown-Wild Rider
I want to make a plate that inserts into his head cutout and makes it a visored helmet; really interested in seeing if DNA does a kit for him too, and if it's just a recolor of their upcoming Prime kit or if they do something different.
I will say, Prime’s paint on his waist when clipping his legs, started to chip off, so I would be careful with Motormaster too just in case it happens to him

I still own my original deluxe Optimus mold and i still enjoyed my united Optimus a lot. I think where you wanted something different from the mold, my nostalgia was just satisfied that the modern version stayed true to the original. But I can still understand why you were so bored with the united mold initially. And even though I probably won't be picking it up (unless it goes on clearance for a good price), I do like the new Motormaster deco a lot.
I was never really a fan of any motor master incarnation, but I do plan on getting prime because I had the deluxe when I was a kid, I loved it. Also I don't care if it's loose or anything cause that can be fixed
DNA design is already producing a upgrade kit that gives animated prime, his trailer and other accessories. I think it’s a big bad toy store that has an exclusive version with battle mask and visor
I bet this mould could really work as a retool for Rescue Bots Heatwave. The Legacy Bulkhead mould might also work, but I'd prefer the pose ability of this figure to bulkhead's.
Now we wait for the other four which arcee/drag strip Jazz/dead end Rodimus/breakdown Lockdown/Wildrider Maybe a toxitron using the animated Optimus mold
Had they released this one with a trailer I would have bought it, but I already have the Optimus with the DNA kit on preorder, so I will wait to see was either Hasbro or DNA plan to do with this guy before I buy it.
Thanks for this review. Wasn't sure if I wanted ut. I really like my animated Prime. I don't believe he had the major QC issues. I really like this with all the nice purple and black deco on Motor Master. Makes me wish for a commander class Lungut.
My Legacy Animated Prime had a very unique issue; his waist wouldn't move to the left until I had to force it. Motormaster does look really good but I probably will wait to get him.
This is a pretty sick deco! But i dont think im gonna get this... Unless i want to make it into Nemesis Prime then I'll consider it. I have Optimus and i absolutely love him, i have no issues with him so i don't really need this. Still a cool deco though
My Optimus mightve been part of a later batch (Walmart rarely restocks/stocks up on new figures until a few weeks after theyve come out) but i personally never had these QC issues everyone else seems to have had. Im very happy to have the figure though, hes very fun and the only problem i have is the axe handle being a little loose and being hard to pull out (i have big hands and grip strength isnt the best lol) but i prefer the smaller axe look anyways
idk man, my Animated Prime was pretty spot-on with QC, so I don't feel like MotorMaster really is a huge upgrade, but it's still a great figure just because, y'know, Randy Savage.
It looks nice, but I really prefer the way Prime looks, so I might just wait and see if we get that Powermaster Prime someday. And cross my fingers for an Animated Megatron to go with him.

My Animated Optimus' knees are loose, but they hold a pose just fine, I just can't do any running poses, his feet need to be flat on the ground. Though I'd like to tighten them, especially if I want that DNA upgrade kit.
Man I never realized the animated Prime has so many problems for other people kind of glad mine isn't like that or at least I haven't found any problems yet I even try to test the knees to make sure they're not like your copy and so far they're great I'm able to get them to decent poses and I just got Motorhead today. My hope is that one day to get at least the Voyager Class original animated Prime, but for right now, I'm happy I have both figures, and I'm definitely picking up Bumblebee.
Does anyone know if there’s a way to tell if the knees and pet on an Optimus are fucked even if it’s in the packaging still? My Walmart has a few that I wanted to get one of but if it’s got QC trouble I don’t wanna risk it unless I know it’s good

Dude, that happens to me all the time! I hate it when I’ve been waiting for a transformers figure for so long and I finally get it and it’s a defect.
I found that there’s sprew on the mushroom pegs that do that.
I took a knife to them and it becomes far less of an issue.

It's just prime but black and purple so in all honesty it doesn't matter which one people get cause the mold is just nice all around
