      Hi there, can this be used in pediatric patients?

    My husband bought us one for our use as we are both EMS responders. I’ve been using it on myself as I’ve been recently diagnosed with Graves’ disease and started meds and my doctor was wanting to have me come in weekly to check my vitals. I live 45 minutes away so it was a big pain for the 15 minute visit. I showed her some of my readings last time I was there and she said I could monitor at home if something came up to call and respond as appropriate. So no more hour and a half trips for a 15 minute appointment.

    It looks so much better than their previous rectangular ECO Duo version. the one downside compared to the other Core version is that if the batteries die you no longer have a stethoscope but it is really nice! I still don't understand how they don't have a PC app for it instead of requiring it to be used with a phone though. Patients expect their medical staff to have computers but no one expects their doctors to pull out their phone to start an exam. plus a computer tends to be more powerful and as Ai tools become more common that could be very useful.

      I’m a severely hearing impaired ER RN. This stethoscope is the only stethoscope I’ve ever used that actually works to Bluetooth with my hearing aids. Highly recommend

      Do not buy it!!! The heart sounds are worse than the yellow stethoscopes. We use at the hospital for MRSA and Cdiff patients. The sound is terrible. Even on the highest volume I cannot hear the heart tones. The lung sounds are decent. The heart tones are nonexistent, unless you squint, and try very very hard to hear them even with the volume at the highest level.

      @@jennishatto1618,what about Bluetooth latency and which haering aid you have? Does it need smartphone close to you during auscultation?
      The other stethoscope, StethoMe with Hagibis Bluetooth dongle has significant latency - I hear breath 1-2 s after it.

    "When paired with the Eko app...." I've used amplified stethoscopes for the last 10 years at least, all with some app or another. And none of which I have ever felt like it would benefit my exam to stop, open, and dither on when seeing a pt. (I'm a hospitalist doing critical care as well)

      Totally get your frustration with app-based stethoscopes. Have you checked out the Stemoscope PRO? It streams straight to wireless buds without needing an app.

      Both work great, I had to use my CME money before the end of the year and I could use that towards buying a new stethoscope, so that's why I upgraded. My cardiology for with attachment is for backup.

    Which do you think would be better for RT- this or the littman core digital?

    • @FreedomToRoam86
      @FreedomToRoam86 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Littman core is just an Eko Core in a Littman. Which is more than fine for RT I would think. I've been using it a few years, and very happy with it. You just have to superglue it back together every couple years, as alcohol seems to break down the glues in it.

    Hello, have you scratched the glass? Can you do a review of the glass screen. I have scratched it and I’m devastated considering the cost! The glass is not scratch resistant. How is this possible??? Ca not be durable of the glass is so delicate that if you have the scope around d your neck and sitting at a desk be carful because the screen can become scratched by the desk. Lord can’t imagine tossing it around during a traumatic evening in the ED……what do u think?

      Please do not waste your money. I saved up to buy the stethoscope. I cannot hear a thing with the heart tones even on the highest volume. The lung sounds are decent. However, there is no way to hear the heart. If you try to count on the phone portion to see the ECG tracing. You can sometimes get a good rhythm. However, on the stethoscope itself, it is mostly artifact.

      May be a bit late, but this is a full digital stethoscope and requires battery power. So it's not analog. If you want stethoscope with analog and digital/amplified sounds you may look for the CORE digital

      I cannot hear the heart sounds even in a quiet room on the loudest setting. I would not trust being able to hear heart sounds on your ambulance. I started as a paramedic, and I am now a hospitalist. I would have never been able to hear anything on my truck back in the days with the stethoscope.
