As a line of thunderstorms approach form the northwest, I document the changes in the sky around the farm. The skies transition from a crystal indigo blue with white fluffy cumulus clouds to being dominated by darker nimbostratus clouds.

Great footage! And a very panoramic view, of approaching weather. Unstable weather like this, now may last for days, where it used to clear out after cold fronts.
Stay safe, with the approaching high heat and humidity all this week. Even the very early mornings, will remain humid and warm, if you wish to hike. Have an excellent week ahead, and very best wishes! Pat

Thanks Pat! Yes it sounds like an oppressive week from the heat perspective. Any significant physical activity will have to be limited and carried out in the morning, unless I decide to go swimming somewhere. I don’t think I’ll be walking out to Garter Lake this week. 😂.
Hoping you can manage to stay cool too.

The footage you captured both before and after is just stunning! Truly an impressive sky, as you say... I love the ending where you zoom in on the goldfinches and then the literal 'edge' of the rainfall moves in as if it were a stage curtain closing in... Thank you for sharing this amazing phenomenon of nature with us... I can only imagine your experience of it in real life. Thanks again!

Thanks very much Kaliopi! I like to cover weather whenever we get something more interesting. We get many fewer thunderstorms out our way than you get there in TO. so even little storms catch my attention. Ideally I would have been right out in the rain but I don’t have great ways to do that besides an umbrella which only works when there is little wind. 😊
