Mural is the greatest piece of rap hip hop ever concocted. It's the Final Stage made by the Final Boss. Mural provokes thought to the highest level higher than anything anyone has ever put out in rap. Especially for the true real truth seekers 👁️🗨️
He references Islam more throughout his albums because he’s a Muslim. I see the angle you’re coming from but he literally recites Surah An-Nas at the end of King Nas. He starts Hurt Me Soul off with “Astagfirallah” meaning Allah forgive me, could go on with example from his albums and mixtapes. Yea he loves martial arts, but he loves his religion too, which is Islam.
Absolutely. His identity as a Muslim is a really important part of his story as well; I just chose to focus on this angle for this particular video. But with Lupe there's so much to tackle because he's so gifted and so prolific....
Well, he DID love Islam, but lately he's been questioning his beliefs, according to his IG Live streams. He's in a place where he's questioning things he's learned in his religion, possibly due to exposure to other schools of thought like Buddhism.
@@safs_dk he is definitely still Muslim but is questioning himself why he is a Muslim which is a good thing no one should believe anything without knowing why they believe it
I was NOT a Lupe Fiasco fan AT ALL when he released Tesuo & Youth. After I listened to the album it occurred to me that it was perhaps the greatest Hip-Hop album I had heard in an entire decade and arguably one of the top ten greatest hip hop albums of all time
It really is a masterpiece. In my opinion Tetsuo & Youth is one of the greatest rap albums ever. Not even just on a lyricism level, though the lyricism is top-notch and so unique. Even on a purely sonic/musical level it's a modern masterpiece. so innovative and pure. Lupe is a true artist who has never compromised his artistry for anything. he's a rare breed in the current music landscape
true; my angle re: Buddhism in this video was just to highlight an aspect of his artistic output that's a little less obvious/less pronounced, but definitely still present. thanks for watching!
Work on your volume levels. Your talking is real quiet in comparison to the video clips and the songs. Also you got some of the lyrics to his songs wrong. For example It's "defeat samsara" not "the feet samsara" and small but "pay respect TO my sensei's sculpture"
Samurai i love it
it's true though!
My baby boy talks about this guy. He love his lyrics.
Lupe probably got the best pen skills in hip hop history.
Man's easy top 20 of all time.
Thats disrepectful. How can you add a probably to this otherwise factual statement?!
Top 1
@@kodycharleston8556 Lyricism wise, probably. Only K Rino and Skyzoo have similar pens. Overall? Top 20.
@Braidz MC the two you mentioned do not come close to that man lyrically, they're good sure but they can't touch him tbh.
@@grump9283 Id argue that K Rino's Sorcerer series is better and more well thought out than Lupe's Mural series, and I love the Murals.
Lupe is the goat 💯
God I wish there were more videos on this man. Really indepth my guy
Thank you, man! I'm happy people are responding so positively to this one; Lupe and Lupe fans deserve this kind of content
