    A very good and helpful video on how to work with the laser module.
    I assembled my Artisan the last few days. I was used to 3D Printing, but now i want to do more what i bought the Artisan for.
    I rather watch good videos than spending hours of reading documents or wiki and missing parts.
    Thank You!

      It's been a while since I've uploaded laser content but I do have some new stuff on the way fairly soon. Take care.

      @@3DRevolution I have been attempting to learn the 10W laser for a while. I recently attempted to engrave some regular house keys with text but have not been successful. Any suggestions?

    • @3DRevolution
      @3DRevolution  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@drjohn148 I will eventually be doing a series of videos on the 10w laser, but in the mean time, let's have a think. Do you know what your keys are made of? If you aren't treating them with a marking material before the laser, and they aren't anodised, then they won't engrave even with the 10w laser.

    • @drjohn148
      @drjohn148 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@3DRevolution The keys are made of standard key material and are coated. I will try applying marking material and see how that works. In the meantime, I'm subscribed and will welcome whatever you put together about the 10W laser. Many thanks.

    • @3DRevolution
      @3DRevolution  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Robert, thank you, I'm really glad the video has helped. Unfortunately you aren't able to do that in Luban. You'll need to design it in something else then import it, or use something like LightBurn.

  • @JackDaw-lu7xo

    This is the first tutorial I have watched on the subject and now feel much less nervous about having a go! 😁
    A question: How would you ensure a tidy outline to the text? I noticed during the tutorial a close up of the text showing open-ended lines on the vertical edges of the characters. On the brief view of the end result this looked to be confirmed.
    Would you have to create a second tool path for the text as a vector path just to do the outside of the text? I can imagine this idea though could burn the top and bottom edges of the text where the tool paths coincide?.

    • @3DRevolution
      @3DRevolution  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jack, ah glad the video has given you a bit more confidence.
      Sorry forgive me, I don't fully understand your question, give me another try with a different description

    • @JackDaw-lu7xo
      @JackDaw-lu7xo ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply. What I mean is, the left and right edges of the text characters are jagged by design because of the horizontal fill, you can see it here th-cam.com/video/MKXoRlWRkjo/w-d-xo.html . The result is shown here th-cam.com/video/MKXoRlWRkjo/w-d-xo.html . If one wanted a clean outline to each character, with an infill too, how would it be done?

      Not as such, but you could create circles or squares within luban, placed over your imported vector, that you can set to specific sizes.

    I noticed you skipped the power setting for the text part, was it set at a stronger power than the etched design?

    • @3DRevolution
      @3DRevolution  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah sorry about that. Just go for a mid-point on your first run of it, somethign that won't burn through your material but will be visible enough to read. You can then adjust the releative levels with subsequent runs with your machine.

    Hi, I am new to the Snapmaker Familie and I currently have troubles with the Snapmaker Programm. When I prepare a G-Code for Laser Engraving/Cutting the Printer cuts/engraves on the travel movements. (For example if I want to cut a Circle the Laser already starts Cutting in the Middle of it on its way to the outline of the circle.) Did anyone have the same Issues (or was to stupid to slice 😅) and know what the solution might be.

    • @3DRevolution
      @3DRevolution  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It sounds like you've got your laser turned on to 100% whilst you're positioning it. This isn't what you want to do. Which Snapmaker do you have?
