In 2019 , lead singer Mayu, was looking for a backing band for a live session. She called her former classmate, bass player Hariguchi-san. They got Tamu Murata, a highly in demand session drummer, and guitarists Saki (ex-Mary's Blood) and Hazuki (ex- Disquala). Realizing this lineup was too good for a one off, they formed the band and named it after a flower because they are all female. A Nemophila is a 5 petal blue and white flower, native primarily the the western US. Shredding on 7 string guitars, 5 string bass, and killer drums. Dissension is the 3rd single from their debut album, Revive. They released their 3rd album, Evolve, in January. Also a lot of covers on their channel. Belle, when you're not sure if they're screams or growls or whatever, just call them harsh vocals. The harsh with Nemophila are mostly in English, the cleans are a mixture of English and Japanese. For more , try "Oiran", "Adabana", "Revive", "Seize the Fate", "Zen", and their newest song "Ame-te-ras" And hangovers are the part I definitely do not miss, now that I don't really drink anymore. 😁🤣
I've seen them live twice in Southern California and they are fire. Extremely charismatic and engaging. They haven't been to the U.K. yet. Very versatile band, Thrash, some prog, a little punk at times and ballads. They basically do it all at a high level. Elite level musicians, especially the 2 guitarists & the drummer. Dive deeper they are awesome. The Ja[anese metal/rock scene is incredible as a whole.
Nemophila is a 'super group' and my favorite of all the incredible Japanese bands right now. Here are some suggestions based on Mayu's vocals...you can't go wrong with this group! Cleans Raitei (Live) th-cam.com/video/6aoghIEPOYc/w-d-xo.html Seize the Fate (Live) th-cam.com/video/yyKGK1Se4bo/w-d-xo.html Odyssey (MV) th-cam.com/video/J8RhjQpFf_Q/w-d-xo.html Cleans + Screams Revive (Live) th-cam.com/video/t2eMoKvsvBE/w-d-xo.html Rise (Live) th-cam.com/video/DaFN5J4iPLI/w-d-xo.html Dissention (MV) th-cam.com/video/26aMuahxz8c/w-d-xo.html Oiran (Live) th-cam.com/video/5qABnfChpbk/w-d-xo.html Adabana (MV) th-cam.com/video/AxYiOwsu6wU/w-d-xo.html Ama-Te-Ras (Live) th-cam.com/video/96LQimRqJgM/w-d-xo.html Screams Zen (Live) th-cam.com/video/k1yPbBRHFms/w-d-xo.html
This is a band with a wide range of music! You really can't judge them on one song. "Life", "Night Flight", "Change the World", "Style", "Rock and Roll Is" and "Odyssey" will give you a bit of their range. For covers, "Shout at the Devil ", "20th Century Boy", and "Sugar" and "Stuck " will give you some more.... By the way, the drummer is a huge Dream Theater fan.
Nemophila are SERIOUSLY versatile as you'll hopefully find out - from growls and screams to power ballads and everything in between . During lockdown they did some amazing covers in the studio from AC/DC to T.Rex ! Nemophila , Lovebites , Band Maid and Babymetal - once I've managed to see them all live ( getting there ) I'll die happy !
Thank you so much for this. Nemophila can rip your face off or make you cry. They are essentially a supergroup. Did you notice the seven strings on both guitars? Recommendations.... Adabana, Odyssey (ballad), Oiran live, Revive. The latest video release Ama-te-ras is so good. Overall you cant go wrong. They are so much fun, play happy metal and make you feel good. Subscribed!
If you want more female bands, there is Aldious, Mary’s Blood, Trident, Doll$box(an offshoot of GS with the singer from Unlucky Morpheus, who are also great, but only two of the band are female), Bridear , Lonesome Blue or you can go back a bit to Destrose and one of the first female bands called Show Ya. Nearly forgot Fate Gear if you like a bit of a steam punk meets metal vibe!!! That should do for starters, there really is plenty more.
Also, 'Rise', 'Revive' or 'Ama-Te-Ras' (current favorite) are similar but with more positive vibes. 'Zen' live is even heavier if you want to go that direction. Great reaction and onesie!
Nice! The members of nemophila are musicians from different bands. They are all excellent musicians. And nemophila is a very unique and diverse band, with various genres of music appearing in their catalog. I recommend《oiran》live(recent one) or《rise》live as the next!🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻
We all are very familiar with Nemophila , imho they are they are best of the JRock bands , the lead singer is unmatched , next do AMA te ras live by this band .
Glad you reacted to Nemophila. Like Band Maid and Lovebites I think their music videos are good but their live performances are awesome. You should react to one of their live videos. Mayu's vocals sound even better.
My top 3 Japanese bands are Band-Maid, Lovebites and Nemophila so I'm happy to see you've got to these great performers as well as the other 2. Mayu's vocal range is astounding and the musicianship is excellent. They recently released some live vids but their MV's are always superb too. Try RISE, ADABANA or REVIVE videos. PS The vocal technique is known as 'Vocal Fry'.
Glad you're sticking with the Jrock Jmetal journey. These ladies were one of my favorite finds in 2023. Mayu is the most versatile voice in Japan IMO. Check out Revive, Zen (both live versions) and my fave is Hypnosis. Another band to check out is Hanabie. Start with "Pardon me, I have to go now" and go ahead and take your socks off otherwise they'll get blown off
Hanabie are dope as f**ck, especially live. If they play near you, it is MANDATORY to see them. I did it past Summer an it was one of my best live experiences of my past 30 years (since I started attending metal shows).
Japan has a long history of great female metal and rock bands. Going back to the 80’s at least. Maybe even before but I haven’t gone that far back. There are some great ones from the 90’s even. So it’s not TH-cam generation thing. Just a Japan being awesome thing lol.
Mad respect for pulling off a hangover reaction to this song. Without melting into a puddle. The two of you are adorable. I regret not being at the party! Sounds like it would have been a lot of fun! I'll be looking forward to more as you continue through the looking glass. Or down the rabbit hole. Something like that.
Congratulations on getting around to Nemophila, they are as brilliant as the rest. You should have a look at one of their covers that they did in the studio just to see the fun side to them, something like Maidens the trooper and, of course, the banana song. So much joy!!! Also have a look at Gacharic Spin, it’s still rock, but often with a bit of a funky beat underneath, their live shows are superb, if a bit chaotic (in a really good way) at times!!!
Can't agree with the Gacharic Spin suggestion enough. Another point in the vast continuum of genre-bending music from Japan. And more fun than a barrel full of monkeys!
I can't get enough of this live video of "I Wish I": th-cam.com/video/nhFse5ZBlLo/w-d-xo.html And some kind soul has just uploaded this bonkers performance of Hunting Summer from a concert Blu-ray: th-cam.com/video/tRHkselRptI/w-d-xo.html
Japan is rife with talented rock and metal bands. You've heard Band-Maid, Lovebites and Nemophila. More to discover - Aldious, Mary's Blood, Bridear, Trident, Unlucky Morpheus, East of Eden, Asterism, Hagane, Galneryus to name some.
Great reaction, these girls, in addition to being absolutely wonderful, are very versatile, so they have many faces. Although I would say that the song "RISE" is a good summary of his style.
Welcome to the kickass world of Nemophila. One of the best of Japan.Their 3rd album just came out in January. Amazing musicians and Mayu the lead singer has an amazing voice. they are mostly metal but very diverse. Many styles of rock and metal they play and they can play anything. Try one of their lives like Oiran Live their first song they recorded together and their show closer most the time. The most recent version is the best. Also there is Adabana and Revive and that is just the tip of the iceberg for them .they have many more great songs.
Yeah, it's a deep rabbit hole, you've only just scratched the surface but Nemophila are among the best. And the great thing is they're so distinctive from one another. My recommendation next is for some good friends of Nemophila, who have even featured Nemophila's Tamu Murata as a guest musician when their drummer was on maternity leave. The band is Gacharic Spin. Song suggestion: Mindset ( m.th-cam.com/video/QmL0V667QzI/w-d-xo.html ). Completely different genre again.
Such an amazing band and the drummer Tamu, just like Akane from B-M makes me want to take the skins off my drum kits and use the shells for pot plant holders 😂 Japanese female musicians are just so fcking next level 👍🍻
With Nemophila you’re going to get a lot of different styles. This is definitely one of their heavier ones. Their latest live video “Ame-te-ras” is one you certainly should check out. There’s a bit of many styles in it! 😊 For a bit of a tear jerker, especially for Belle, check out “Life!” A newish Japanese all female band to check out is East Of Eden.
Nemophila's versatility is astonishing, innit? From metalcore brutality to sweet power ballads and so much in-between...and yet they never sound unfocused. Every song has their stamp on it. I second the East of Eden recco. Legit supergroup that really hit the ground running.
Oh nice. B-M will always take top spot in my heart but you've now reacted to 2 of my 3 fave Japanese bands with this Nemophila vid. Hanabie being the 3rd, hint hint. Happy St Patrick's Day. Feel better.
Cool reaction. Nemophila tends to be a multi genre type of band, so not all of their songs sounds like this, there's a lot to discover. They released a new album in february of this year. Next japanese all female band to check out: Hanabie. Try the song "We Love Sweets" as your first approach.
While Band-Maid is my favorite, I really love Nemophila, they are an awesome band! Definitely check out more, you might try the MV for Revive next. Thanks for the reaction.
Still hoping to see them in Europa/UK one day (even if travelling with young children isn't that easy - singer Mayu and drummer Tamu are mothers - but they are well organized, even arranging a backstage nursery for their concerts when the kids were babies!). They have many great songs, for something a little different check Adabana, for their fun side (they LOVE having fun), check their cover of the Minion Song (they did a lot of great covers, especially during the pandemic) and for their wildest aspect, check their live version of "Zen".
Japanese all female bands to check out: Hanabie (Ha-Na-Be-eH) - OTAKU Lovely Densetsu Bridear - Light In The Dark Fate Gear - Headless Goddess Stereopony - Hitohira no Hanabira Gacharic Spin - Mindset Mary's Blood - Marionette DOLL$BOXX - Take My Chance This is a colab between Gacharic Spin and the singer for Unlucky Morpheus, Fuki. Japanese female lead bands: Unlucky Morpheus - CADAVER/REVADAC They play the first song CADAVER, then play it backwards note for note REVADAC They also have a heavy metal violinist. Yōsei Teikoku (Fairy Kingdom) - Astral Dogma All male: Galneryus - Angel of Salvation Neo-Classical metal band Mixed: MAXIMUM THE HORMONE - A.L.I.E.N. Hanabie started out as a MTH cover band in high school. Melt Banana - Infection Defective Hard to describe this band they just have to be experienced. Indian Metal, yes, India has metal bands, Bloodywood - Aaj Don't worry, they sing in Hindi and English.
Now this is what you call metal. They're friends from different bands who decided to play together, and eventually form a band. The band proved too good to just be a one-off thing, so here they are, going strong today. Nemophila is one of my favourites, but serious one of many very talented metal/rock bands in Japan these days. This is one of their earlier original songs. I feel they have gotten even better now, which is scary when you think about it 🤔
These are five very special ladies. The music they make spans many different styles. They are all veterans of other bands. Vocalist MAYU brought them together in 2019 for a one-off concert. The experience was so good that they decided to make it a permanent thing. When the Pandemic hit, they started making dozens of videos of their covers of Japanese and Western bands that influenced them. To get a better sense of who they are as individuals as well as a unit, please watch the in-studio demo of their first original song, OIRAN - th-cam.com/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/w-d-xo.html It’s simultaneously brutal and charming - th-cam.com/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/w-d-xo.html
...they are tight live too))) I could have told you about Nemophila the first time I saw you react to a J-Metal, but I kind of wanted you to come to this discovery yourselves. This is the only band from Japan you need. I love your channel as my discovery started with Band-Maid, just the same, then Lovebites and when Nemophila came into my life...wow, adrenaline rushing all over my body, blood's boiling, tearing out of excitement and awe...! Remember, with your reaction, you are part of creating history with legends - Mayu (vocals), Haraguchi-san (bass - I have such a huge crush on Haraguchi...I want to throw my boxer-shorts at her, ahah; excuse my language Bell, I neither wear bra nor thongs, but Finn will understand me - married at first sight - that will be me and Haraguchi-san😍), Tamu Murata (drums - the most gifted musician of them all, multi-instrumentalist, real prodigy; pick an instrument - she plays it), and twin seven-string lead guitarists Hazuki ( to your left) and Saki (to your right). I don't know guys, when Band-Maid came to the UK, they were shoved in a basement-like venue in Islington. Such an embarrassement((( at least they should have been given the one in Kentish Town?! I doubt they will ever come back to us, at least not anytime soon. Simply put - Nemophila is a band of hardcore hot chicks that will melt your brains and sweep you up with sexy hooks in between till you're rendered speechless and out of words to describe greatness...! I will not recommend you bands, discover them. Much love
There are a remarkable number of talented Japanese rock and metal bands even though pop dominates the music market. Next should be Hanabie. As for Nemophila to see their range, checked out Zen (live) and the Odyssey MV. And as for kawaii its ka wa e with the final e said twice as long, Japanese has moras rather than syllables, and they are like music beats. It can be critical to get the vowel length right. ビル (biru) is a multi-story building, ビール (bi-ru) is beer. 1st one is "be ru" the 2nd is also "be ru" but you say the e for two beats instead of one. Middle English had vowel lengthening.
You may want to check out another outstanding band called Gacharic Spin... you'll see what I mean when you listen to the Music Video of their song called "Mindset"
The Japanese education system, despite some faults, is very strong on cultural activity. Students learn music in formal lessons (and families often pay for private lessons as well, not just as in piano lessons for example, but there are dance schools, music schools, and so on). There are also music clubs where the students can develop their own interests. These clubs tend to attract more girls than boys (who tend to gravitate to the sports clubs) which is why there are so many all girl groups - they just don’t see it as out of the ordinary. By the time students graduate high school they can have had a great grounding in music. Couple this with the fact that music in Japan is an intimate part of theatre, you often get that extra stage presence from bands because music is performance in its broadest sense (even something as static as traditional taiko is staged in the most dramatic way possible). Beyond high school there are many further education establishments offering advanced music tuition where students will expand their performance skills and learn other instruments as well as composition, recording, staging, and so on. And then you have a population that devours all things cultural from low brow to high brow and which appreciates the arts in all its forms. It is no wonder there is so much wide-ranging talent.
_Where are all of these Japanese rock bands coming from?_ -Japan.- Seriously though, that was my reaction when I started discovering this scene. Nemophila have never played in Europe, so your bank balance is safe from them at least. But here are some suggestions from Japanese bands who do tour the UK: Hanabie - Pardon Me I Have To Go Now. Yukina's vocals have to be heard to be believed. Their next EU Tour is in June/July, although the only UK date on this one is Download Festival. Otoboke Beaver - Don't Light My Fire. "The most #@
Thank you for the fun reaction⚡🎸♫ This video is good too LIVE VR and Evolution VR are also good, so I want you to watch them too ♫ I think Revive's LIVE vr and OIRAN Live vr .Life are also great ♫ It's fun because I also upload covers of other artists in the video ♫ Also Hagane.Gacharic Spin.Aldious.Brider.East of eden.AIOI.etc Please enjoy various Japanese Girls Heavy Metal Bands ♫⚡🎸 LOVEBITES and SHOW-YA are famous so I won't talk about them✌️ babyMetal is not GirlsHeavyMetalBand! Kawaii = kah wah ee👍 Love when the music started, both of you instantly came alive! Next Nemophila - Revive, please. Next new Japanese band, Hanabie (Ha nah bee eh)- We Love Sweets!🙏🤘
"Weapon of Mass Charisma!" She's also got serious chops, versatility, and an incredible ability to communicate a wide range of emotion with her voice. My favorite rock/metal singer on the planet...
@@Buddies_official46 Can't go wrong with that choice, either! While Mayu is my personal favorite, I also love Asami's soaring, powerful voice. There is an abundance of genuinely brilliant female vocalists in the Japanese hard rock and metal scene. Some are obvious, like Fuki (Unlucky Morpheus/Doll$Boxx) and Raychell (Raise a Suilen), and some fly under the radar a bit, like "purple" from Leopardeath or Regan (Saiseiga). 🙂
NEMOPHILA live 2023 songs ZEN, Seize The Fate, Rise, AMATERAS, Change The World, Dissension, Raitei... Japanese ladies Bands shows to the Western Bands dude how Bands should play Rock/Metal and tortured the music instruments to the maximum.....
This band is made up from an Allstar cast of the best female metal musicians in Japan. They can absolutely play any genre which you see as you listen to more. The drummer is known to be one of the best female drummers in the world and both guitarist are really well known. And how about the vocalist......she is out of this world ....wait till you hear the ballad Odyssey OMG !!!!! Check out Ama TE Ras These two are their latest releases
Guys! Greetings from Shizuoka City under the benign care of Mount Fuji! I really enjoy your reactions discovering Japanese bands! I'm an old French geezer (spent my college years in Bournemouth) who has spent 48 years in Japan and witnessed the whole music history there but it has never been so good! Now, you have already checked my favorite, Band Maid, and I love Nemophila (flower name incidentally), but here is what I would humbly and personally recommend next for you to delve in: -Asterism, the wonderkids of Japanese metal, formed with a male drummer, a 7-string bass male bassist and arguably the best female guitarist of them all. Check the live video (amateur but great for its authenticity) when the guitarist was only 16 then. Tears guaranteed. The piece is called "Dawn" and available at th-cam.com/video/buQPvINJcA0/w-d-xo.html -Glim Spanky, for classic rock of any period. Check their version of Janis Joplin's "Move Over". Even better! Official video at th-cam.com/video/l8wFnCgZ-5Q/w-d-xo.html -Waggaki Band. Tears guaranteed again with their live video Homura + Akatsuki no Ito. A band that has combined rock instruments with classical Japanese instruments, Take out your handkerchiefs! I have plenty more for you! Take good care of yourselves! Best regards, Robert-Gilles Martineau
Fun video guys! Can you please react to wagtail band honours/akatsuki no Ito live. They are also a Japanese band. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Romania 🇷🇴!!
I don't use this 👇🏻 signature for fun. It is the truth❗😁🤘🏻 _____________________ ♬ _"America invented rock. England improved it. And now, Japan has perfected it."_ ♬ ※ Band-Maid ※ Gacharic Spin ※ Lovebites ※ Nemophila ※ East of Eden ※ Hanabie ※ Asterism ※ Trident ※ etc.

One of my TOP fav metal bands. But I prefer more "Raitei", "Rise", "Revive" NEMOPHILA / 雷霆 -RAITEI- [Official Music Video] is still my favorite on my way to work Also check this cover out: LINKIN PARK / Given Up [Cover by NEMOPHILA] They did awesome covers!
Their screamiest song is Zen but I really like the new song AMA-TE-RAS. You might be surprised to know that the singer has a baby and the drummer has 2 young children. Doesn't slow them down much does it. They are renowned for their covers so they have probably covered a band that you like. My favourite covers are the Parimor song Lovebites (yes that's where Lovebites got their name) and SHIMI and one of the babies is in that clip although I think it's her first child who is now 3yo. Please do AMA-TE-RAS or Rise. Also Korean band called Rolling Quartz are a good rock band. Try their song Blaze. 🇦🇺
My favorite "Moms that Rock" band, Po! 🦍🍌 They were at AfterShock Fest 2022 in Sac., CA. and Mayu (Lead V) was almost ready to have her 1st baby. I was at the Band Maid stage holding on to a rail spot when they played. But the reports came back that she and her "little one" rocked the house that afternoon in the near 100F/38C heat.
@@xovaqiin4844 you're right, Po! That's how they met for the 1st time. Thanks! I went back and looked at the AS 2022 line-up and, yes, Nemo was on Friday, and The Warning was on Sunday before Band Maid at a different stage. I did a one day Sunday pass, and remembered now that Muse covered for Foo Fighters (due to the death of Taylor Hawkins) and Band Maid went to see Muse that evening after their show. Seems like a long time ago, Po!
@@JK-tz6kk I did the one day Friday pass for me and my girls. Nemophila and Meshuggah are my two favorite bands, plus Kiss, Clutch and Helmet are right up there. Jinjer was supposed to be on Friday too, but then Russia invaded their country. I needed to have my girls back for school on Monday, so we couldn't make the Sunday show, which was torture for me. Especially after Muse joined the bill. If the Sunday lineup played on Saturday instead, I definitely would have made it work. Good memories though. We had to skip Gwar and Lamb of God to be center front row for Meshuggah. but we were able to catch the last half of the Kiss show at the end. It was a heck of a first concert experience for my girls.
Question - are you still tired? Nemophila is one of my favorite Japanese Metal Groups. Now, if you want an exceptional math rock band may I recommend Sokoninaru th-cam.com/video/n7MyoBki9wk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-ei1JZYI2mziUieT. I’ll leave it to the two of you to decide if you want to react to this video. Either way (react or not) I think you will love it. Plus I’m sure you haven’t seen anything like them.
Nemophila have so many styles that it reallt shows off their musical prowess and ability, they also do loads of amazing covers as well Couple more band suggestions would be One Ok rock , check out ' we are ' Live on the ambitions tour its a stadium masterclass Waggaki Band - Homua , they blend traditional Japanese instruments with rock Indian folk metal band Bloodywood , check out ' Aaj ' Lastly Rolling Quartz an all female rock band from South Korea
React to this strange/special Gothic Japanese female duo: THE DEVIL’S KILLING MERRY-GO-ROUND. Song: ディアボロス (Traduction: Diabolos) React to this little known Japanese band: HELLO SLEEPWALKERS. Song: 円盤飛来 (Traduction: Flying Saucer)
Nice choice. You have just scratched the surface of excellent Japanese bands and incredible musicians. For an extraordinary instrumental 3 piece performance try Asterism playing Dawn live. Sorry but don't like BabyMetal, too kawaii for me.
女性バンドじゃないけど、Unlucky Morpheus、sokoninaruもお勧め。 [ Official Live Video ] Unlucky Morpheus - 「Black Pentagram」 th-cam.com/video/RUiRlUGMTwY/w-d-xo.html そこに鳴る / 掌で踊る【Official Music Video】Sokoninaru / Tenohira De Odoru th-cam.com/video/n7MyoBki9wk/w-d-xo.html
Some all female Japanese bands I like that are very talented are Hanabie, Aldious, Bridear, Trident, Gacharic Spin, Fate Gear, STMLT, Otoboke Beaver, Hagane. Other Japanese bands with male and mixed male female bands to check out Maximum the Hormone, Jiluka, Asterism, Crystal Lake. Some non Japanese female bands from Asia to check out are Rolling Quartz, DIH, MakeMake.
It's a great band love all of their music well you could react to Trident their song cry out which is my favorite. But anything from them is so good. And then there's fate gear and their song winds of fall that's my favorite song of theirs there's but then again anything they have is really good. Tell me about scandal and their song A.M.D.K.J that's my favorite song but they have a lot of good ones also. And bridear and their song eyes of doubt. And all their songs are very good also. Then when you want more I have more CDs that I have with female Japanese bands. So I'll send more
In 2019 , lead singer Mayu, was looking for a backing band for a live session. She called her former classmate, bass player Hariguchi-san. They got Tamu Murata, a highly in demand session drummer, and guitarists Saki (ex-Mary's Blood) and Hazuki (ex- Disquala). Belle, when you're not sure if they're screams or growls or whatever, just call them harsh vocals. The harsh with Nemophila are mostly in English, the cleans are a mixture of English and Japanese.
For more , try "Oiran", "Adabana", "Revive", "Seize the Fate", "Zen", and their newest song "Ame-te-ras"

yep "Zen" is my ABSOLUTE favourite

Nice! The members of nemophila are musicians from different bands. They are all excellent musicians. And nemophila is a very unique and diverse band, with various genres of music appearing in their catalog. I recommend《oiran》live(recent one) or《rise》live as the next!🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻
these ladies kick ASS. welcome to the NEMOPHILA rabbit hole..
Thank you so much ❤️
We all are very familiar with Nemophila , imho they are they are best of the JRock bands , the lead singer is unmatched , next do AMA te ras live by this band .
Ama-Te-Ras...'groovy metal' and my current favorite!
The drummer's name is Tamu Murata. She is a really well-known drummer in Japan. She has her own TH-cam channel and has over 40 million combined views.
THIS BAND IS SICK... SO GOOD
Glad you reacted to Nemophila. Like Band Maid and Lovebites I think their music videos are good but their live performances are awesome. You should react to one of their live videos. Mayu's vocals sound even better.
We will do, thank you
My top 3 Japanese bands are Band-Maid, Lovebites and Nemophila so I'm happy to see you've got to these great performers as well as the other 2. Mayu's vocal range is astounding and the musicianship is excellent. They recently released some live vids but their MV's are always superb too. Try RISE, ADABANA or REVIVE videos. PS The vocal technique is known as 'Vocal Fry'.
Almost the same for me, mate!
Their range of sounds is huge, I bet you'd enjoy their song "ADABANA"
NEMOPHILA is AMAZING Metal band today 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Japan has a long history of great female metal and rock bands. Going back to the 80’s at least. Maybe even before but I haven’t gone that far back. There are some great ones from the 90’s even. So it’s not TH-cam generation thing. Just a Japan being awesome thing lol.
Can't wait for y'all to experience "Life".
I love Mayu's beautiful raspy voice so much.
It was awesome, thanks for commenting
Nemophila is one of the best band's in the world!! Please react to more Nemophila , Revive , Odessey , Oiran
AMA-TE-RAS and Monsters too.
Thank you for this
Can't agree with the Gacharic Spin suggestion enough. Another point in the vast continuum of genre-bending music from Japan. And more fun than a barrel full of monkeys!
I can't get enough of this live video of "I Wish I": th-cam.com/video/nhFse5ZBlLo/w-d-xo.html
And some kind soul has just uploaded this bonkers performance of Hunting Summer from a concert Blu-ray: th-cam.com/video/tRHkselRptI/w-d-xo.html
Band maid is good rock n roll. Lovebites is speed metal. Nemophila are the best in the world .🤘😎🤘
Japan is rife with talented rock and metal bands. You've heard Band-Maid, Lovebites and Nemophila. More to discover - Aldious, Mary's Blood, Bridear, Trident, Unlucky Morpheus, East of Eden, Asterism, Hagane, Galneryus to name some.
Was just about to post up Trident and Asterism, but very glad to see I'm not alone!!
"I LOVE JAPANESE FEMALE METAL AND HARD ROCK BANDS!!!!"
Great superband. My favourite song is Raitei.
Great reaction, these girls, in addition to being absolutely wonderful, are very versatile, so they have many faces. Although I would say that the song "RISE" is a good summary of his style.
hanabie we love sweets reaction next!!
Yes!!!
This band is truly outstanding. They too like Band Maid and some of the others we suggest... they are even better "Live"...
Lovely reaction. Always natural and funny. Keep goin'.
We will check this out thank you
They're coming from japan 🤘🤘
Such an amazing band and the drummer Tamu, just like Akane from B-M makes me want to take the skins off my drum kits and use the shells for pot plant holders 😂 Japanese female musicians are just so fcking next level 👍🍻
With Nemophila you’re going to get a lot of different styles. This is definitely one of their heavier ones. Their latest live video “Ame-te-ras” is one you certainly should check out. There’s a bit of many styles in it! 😊
For a bit of a tear jerker, especially for Belle, check out “Life!”
A newish Japanese all female band to check out is East Of Eden.
Nemophila's versatility is astonishing, innit? From metalcore brutality to sweet power ballads and so much in-between...and yet they never sound unfocused. Every song has their stamp on it.
I second the East of Eden recco. Legit supergroup that really hit the ground running.
@@DavidKAnderson I agree. Nemophila definitely have their own sound and approach.
Haraguchi-san Haraguchi-san Haraguchi-san!
Fluffy slippers are needed for this brutally hard stuff 😇
Hehe true x
Oh nice. B-M will always take top spot in my heart but you've now reacted to 2 of my 3 fave Japanese bands with this Nemophila vid. Hanabie being the 3rd, hint hint.
Happy St Patrick's Day. Feel better.
Haha don't worry, they are on the list!
For a great rock n roll song try Sorai.
`Nemophila can do it all! Their new album is fantastic, recommend one off of that album.
Japanese all female bands to check out:
Hanabie (Ha-Na-Be-eH) - OTAKU Lovely Densetsu
Bridear - Light In The Dark
Fate Gear - Headless Goddess
Stereopony - Hitohira no Hanabira
Gacharic Spin - Mindset
Mary's Blood - Marionette
DOLL$BOXX - Take My Chance This is a colab between Gacharic Spin and the singer for Unlucky Morpheus, Fuki.
Japanese female lead bands:
Unlucky Morpheus - CADAVER/REVADAC They play the first song CADAVER, then play it backwards note for note REVADAC They also have a heavy metal violinist.
Yōsei Teikoku (Fairy Kingdom) - Astral Dogma
All male:
Galneryus - Angel of Salvation Neo-Classical metal band
Mixed:
MAXIMUM THE HORMONE - A.L.I.E.N. Hanabie started out as a MTH cover band in high school.
Melt Banana - Infection Defective Hard to describe this band they just have to be experienced.
Indian Metal, yes, India has metal bands, Bloodywood - Aaj Don't worry, they sing in Hindi and English.
Listen to RISE from nemophila it’s a amazing song with a meaningful lyrics
To get a better sense of who they are as individuals as well as a unit, please watch the in-studio demo of their first original song, OIRAN - th-cam.com/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/w-d-xo.html
It’s simultaneously brutal and charming - th-cam.com/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/w-d-xo.html
...they are tight live too))) I could have told you about Nemophila the first time I saw you react to a J-Metal, but I kind of wanted you to come to this discovery yourselves. Much love
Sláinte! 🍺 These ladies Rock! Love them! For a slight change of pace try Gacharic Spin "MINDSET'" . keep Rocking amigos!!! 👍🏼🤙🏻🤟🏼
Told ya! 🤘🎸🐺 I knew you’d like Nemo!
Nemophila and The Warning that’s a that needs to be said.
Check out "FATE GEAR" (Steam punk metal band) (Headless Goddess)!!!!!
I think you should check out the band Trident with their song Spoopy. Also, the next Nemophila song Hypnosis.
Hnabie Hnabie hnabie
I’m glad you picked a older song, you’ll enjoy the newer ones better.
If you want heavy, see Saiseiga especially "Ride On" live. Vocalist and drummer female. Guitar and bass male.
excellent reaction
2 more great Japanese female bands
Trident , song "continue"
Bridear , song "ignite"
_Where are all of these Japanese rock bands coming from?_
-Japan.- Seriously though, that was my reaction when I started discovering this scene. Nemophila have never played in Europe, so your bank balance is safe from them at least. But here are some suggestions from Japanese bands who do tour the UK:
Hanabie - Pardon Me I Have To Go Now. Yukina's vocals have to be heard to be believed. Their next EU Tour is in June/July, although the only UK date on this one is Download Festival.
Otoboke Beaver - Don't Light My Fire. "The most #@
Thank you for the fun reaction⚡🎸♫
This video is good too
LIVE VR and Evolution VR are also good, so I want you to watch them too ♫
I think Revive's LIVE vr and OIRAN Live vr .Life are also great ♫
It's fun because I also upload covers of other artists in the video ♫
Also Hagane.Gacharic Spin.Aldious.Brider.East of eden.AIOI.etc
Please enjoy various Japanese Girls Heavy Metal Bands ♫⚡🎸
LOVEBITES and SHOW-YA are famous so I won't talk about them✌️
babyMetal is not GirlsHeavyMetalBand!
I hate BandMeid💦
Please enjoy the reaction video ♫
From Japan 🇯🇵
Tsuyoshi.Yoko
Kawaii = kah wah ee👍
Love when the music started, both of you instantly came alive!
Next Nemophila - Revive, please.
Next new Japanese band, Hanabie (Ha nah bee eh)- We Love Sweets!🙏🤘
🤘🌸🔥🤘🌸🔥🤘🌸🔥🤘
Mayu is the best singer in the world. Period, full stop, that is all.
"Weapon of Mass Charisma!" She's also got serious chops, versatility, and an incredible ability to communicate a wide range of emotion with her voice. My favorite rock/metal singer on the planet...
I prefer Asami 😇
They can absolutely play any genre which you
see as you listen to more. The drummer is known to be one of the best female drummers in the world and both guitarist are really well
known. And how about the vocalist......she is out of this world ....wait till you hear the ballad Odyssey OMG !!!!! Check out Ama TE Ras
These two are their latest releases
Demon scream captures another fan.
Now, you have already checked my favorite, Band Maid, and I love Nemophila (flower name incidentally), but here is what I would humbly and personally recommend next for you to delve in:
-Asterism, the wonderkids of Japanese metal, formed with a male drummer, a 7-string bass male bassist and arguably the best female guitarist of them all. Check the live video (amateur but great for its authenticity) when the guitarist was only 16 then. Tears guaranteed. The piece is called "Dawn" and available at th-cam.com/video/buQPvINJcA0/w-d-xo.html
-Glim Spanky, for classic rock of any period. Check their version of Janis Joplin's "Move Over". Even better! Official video at th-cam.com/video/l8wFnCgZ-5Q/w-d-xo.html
-Waggaki Band. Tears guaranteed again with their live video Homura + Akatsuki no Ito. A band that has combined rock instruments with classical Japanese instruments, Take out your handkerchiefs!
I have plenty more for you!
Take good care of yourselves!
Best regards,
Robert-Gilles Martineau
❤️
Check out anther all female Japanese girl band Gacharic Spin with “Mindset” MV😊
Fun video guys! Can you please react to wagtail band honours/akatsuki no Ito live. They are also a Japanese band. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Romania 🇷🇴!!
I don't use this 👇🏻 signature for fun. It is the truth❗😁🤘🏻

One of my TOP fav metal bands. But I prefer more "Raitei", "Rise", "Revive"
NEMOPHILA / 雷霆 -RAITEI- [Official Music Video] is still my favorite on my way to work
Also check this cover out: LINKIN PARK / Given Up [Cover by NEMOPHILA]
They did awesome covers!
And for a live one check this out maybe:
NEMOPHILA / AMA-TE-RAS [Official Live Video]
I love it
Their screamiest song is Zen but I really like the new song AMA-TE-RAS.
花冷えも聴いて!
Nemophila should be a channel standard for the long haul. They are diverse and supremely talented and never fail to make you feel something.
Nemophila played Thursday and Band-Maid played Sunday. It was probably The Warning that you had to skip to watch Band-Maid.
It’s pronounced Kah-Wye-ee.
It means cute in Japanese.
Thank will check it out, thanks for commenting
Nemophila have so many styles that it reallt shows off their musical prowess and ability, they also do loads of amazing covers as well
Couple more band suggestions would be
One Ok rock , check out ' we are ' Live on the ambitions tour its a stadium masterclass
Waggaki Band - Homua , they blend traditional Japanese instruments with rock
Indian folk metal band Bloodywood , check out ' Aaj '
Lastly Rolling Quartz an all female rock band from South Korea
React to this strange/special Gothic Japanese female duo: THE DEVIL’S KILLING MERRY-GO-ROUND. Song: ディアボロス (Traduction: Diabolos)
React to this little known Japanese band: HELLO SLEEPWALKERS. Song: 円盤飛来 (Traduction: Flying Saucer)
Ladies of Nemophila ROCK!! Unleash The Archers next Please 😊
Lots more to come ❤️
Her vocal is a fry scream.
A vocal fry while screaming.
A little girl like Mayu makes a sound like that at the begining, and neither of you even raise an eyebrow?
I call bullshit. First time reactors my ass
Whilst you're entitled to your opinion, we don't do bullshit, thanks
Nice choice. You have just scratched the surface of excellent Japanese bands and incredible musicians. For an extraordinary instrumental 3 piece performance try Asterism playing Dawn live. Sorry but don't like BabyMetal, too kawaii for me.
Another great recommendation would be the female guitarist Rie aka Suzaku with the song Noah´s Ark, over 14 minutes of guitar riff bliss.
Gacharic Spin and East of Eden - your next step into Japanese rock scene - have a go!!!
