you should have asked support and we could have told you what you are seeing - its not disabled or a bug at all - when CAA is not connected, all previous functions including mosaic, rotate, and framing are retained. If your mosaic and rotation buttons are grayed out, it is because the ASIAIR does hold the current camera angle. Take a frame in preview mode and then solve and synch and moasic functions will work as normal. Do reach out if you see a bug instead of speculating :(
Thanks a lot for the clarification. I was not aware you had to make a plate solve in order for the mosaic feature to be available. Now that plans can hold the rotation angle, is there a reason we can't make the plans regardless of if the current angle is known or not? I would love to be able to make my observation plans from home on cloudy nights like tonight to optinize my time when it's clear out.
It turns out the manual angle adjustment only works when you have platesolved. So it's still there. I was not able to verify this due to a total clouded cover.
Just shoot in preview mode and plate solve, then everything should work fine. The mosaic and rotate buttons are greyed out because the current angle is not known by plate solve.
@@cosmic_curiosity Damn sad to hear but also good that you find other hobbies to do! I hope to 1 day see some Elite videos again! Your videos helped me out a TON over the years. o7 and stay safe!
I have cut out the section when I noticed the mistake. It just takes TH-cam a few hours before the changes take effect. So if you come back a bit later the section should have been removed :-)
Ok ZWO, Really what the F is wrong with you. You trying to get more of our money. I have the Askar140. I can be rotated very easily. I use the camera rotation all the time. I set my rotation for the night and I'm good to go. I haven't done the update yet. If you are forcing me to do it and I can't manually rotate any more. NINA her I come.

I also updated the title, thumbnail, and description as well as pinned this comment. Sorry about the misunderstanding.
Finally some love for Alt Az, but that is to please the audience for the rotator i guess :) Ofc i will get one as soon as its available, thanks!
Good Video, as always.
Interesting watch as always.
I Also hope that the manual angle rotation will get back as if that would be a reason to change back to NINA!

Do you have a camera attached to the air whilst doing this? That's the only thing I can think of as to why those functions are not working
Do you still play Elite ?
I still keep up with the game, but I don't get many play hours in
