Dan. I am watching your video and enjoying your comments about the life of a modern cruise ship musician. I played drums from 1973-8 out of Miami with RCCL and Commodore on the baby ships! 18,000 tons, 750 pax and 300 crew. Our contracts were 9 months on the ships and we didn't have any rehearsal time pre contract. I'm surprised that you didn't mention fraternizing with the passengers which seemed to occupy much of our time back then!! lol Other than that you did a great job on the video. Congrats and good luck.
Thanks so much for commenting! Woah, 300 crew is wild! I just came off a contract with 1500 crew haha! Sounds awesome back in the day though. Hope you’re well friend
Thanks so much! Go for all the standard pop songs, Motown, 80’s, R&B - basically anything you’d sing at a wedding or function. That’s a good starting point
Hello Dan, how do you think is the probably someone has passed a audition with a good agent dont get a success in finish contract in terms of sight reading?
Hey Wesley! I’m not sure I understand fully, but if it’s a question about how much sight reading is involved with cruise ships, a LOT. It’s pretty much the whole Gig. So you’ll want to get really familiar with it before you go out on a contract! I hope this helps.
This is amazing orientation 🎉I need to try this kind of gigs it's been mi dreams .Dan thank u
Good luck bro!
Do you still do Just Ask?
Hi Dan, what's the best way to get selected for the role of a drummer.

Great video!! Do you have any set list for a male singer to learn some songs that you play in live?

Hey Dan! Awesome video- were you able to practice drums whenever you needed or were the restrictions?
Hey! Thank you Ali! Most port days yeah I could, but sea days obviously you can’t as the guests are on the ship :)
