I converted a rolling trunk for my gigging rig, too, and it was one of the best things I've ever done. My box is longer, shorter, and deeper, and with the custom dividers and padding I put in it holds the entire kit, hardware, cymbals, mics, snake/cables, and even a small fan. The only real downside is that it's HEAVY. It rolls on good casters, but if you ever have to lift over a curb or something it can be a bear. You can't beat a good drum trunk!! Nice build.

What are the sizes of the individual drum shells and what are the internal dimensions of the case?

flight case are awesome . my touring kit is in flight cases. stays in my garage. roll on truck simple. heavy as c though. my hardware case weight over 1200 pounds. its a 6 wheel beast
