Diamond DA62, Meeting the Devil*

A perfect flight on the DA62 on a perfect day! Crossing the Alps at 16.000 ft from Augsburg (EDMA) to Portoroz (LJPZ) on June 17th, 2021. This video shows parts of the flight up to the Kaiser Mountains in Austria. Everything was really great - until I checked out our flight the next day using the "planefinder.net" playback tool. I was truly shocked to see the ACCURATE random crossing of our DA62 with the plane of the most disgusting individual on the planet, 10 miles east of Munich. Of course, we were separated vertically by thousands of feet. My personal twist on the story: the crossing happened pretty much right over a piece of property I once owned in the village below... unbelievable! Crazy coincidences!
* I don't believe in devils but I couldn't think of a more polite term for this ruthless and unhinged individual, neglecting any humanitarian and rightful basics

Helloo, what qualifications do you have to pilote this amazing plane ? I have my PPL but i dont know if its enough for this one or not 😅

To fly a twin under VFR conditions you have to have at least MEP rating (multi engine piston). A regular PPL is limited to a SEP (single engine piston) ...as you should know ;-)

Hi, just wondering, how is the front view in DA62 comepare to DA42, do you find the A-pillar in DA62 annoying cause it blocks part of the view? DA42 doesn't have such A-pillar

Before the DA62 was bought, we were flying a DA42 and I was a bit skeptical concerning the DA62's A-pillar. But my skepticism was totally inappropreate. In reality you wouldn't see the pillar as disturbing as it looks on fotos or videos. Maybe it is because you have two eyes and therefore the visual information comes out of two angles. It is definitely no issue at all - and the advantages like having two big doors to enter and additional safety compensates the slightly worse view ...

My pleasure! I am still a great fan of the DA62 and its progressive or even best concept! Only missing pressurization and a little horse power. But it is inapproprate to compare a Meridian/M500 to a 62 .... ;-)

Sanctions on Venezuela has displaced more than 15m Venezuelans when USA destroyed their economy because they wouldn’t comply to the Petrodollar. Literally worthless money because they wouldn’t play ball and now they are in shit so deep they can’t even buy food.
