And this guy is a big fast talker too. Rick’s got a bit more thought before his words come out. But hey. That’s how us ADD types go on camera and in person with a new person or nervous.
Worlds colliding! My TH-cam feed is 45% music [creation] content and 45% camera content. It's very strange (in a wonderful, amazing, fantastic sort of way) to see them together in one video!
This video made me laugh alot as the fun and cheek of scoring rick beato in his own studio and presenting him with pruple sticker...marks for excess is also funny!!!
Literally from the first three notes of the "What's That Riff", I was like, "come on, guys...it's the intro of "Love Song" by Tesla!" That song was huge. Clearly Rick wasn't into radio rock in the late 80s-early 90s...still loved this video and his very cool studio! Thanks for making it, Gerald.
"Docking points for excess..." Perfect. Interesting to see this behind the scenes view of Rick's setup. I worked in the 80s-90s as both a pro musician and pro photographer (even some video), but mostly the two were separate careers. It's cool to see how the two blend together in terms of gear, especially lighting controls.
So cool! I think Rick has such a great "TH-cam vibe" - intimate, casual, but it always sounds and looks great without trying to overdo the production value. His videos always feel like he's having a chat with us, and the lighting/audio are just subtle and... perfect. Thanks for doing this!
I remember when I started in Television, working for WUTR in Utica, NY. Everything was massive and expensive (working with Betacam SP). You can now outfit an entire studio like this with multiple cameras and lights for what it probably took to buy one camera back then (and it looks way better). The industry has come so far!
Awesome! As a fellow musician and camera wielder I absolutely love how much of your musician side comes out in this video! Been enjoying both your and Rick's content for quite a while now! Interesting that a wet drum room works well :O I'm also always fascinated at the paradox of sound treating rooms to perfection only to fill them up with random unused amps and instruments while you record :D
Absolutely fantastic. I'm not into technical aspects of these things, these TH-cam videos but I'm a musician and Rick is king as far as music goes. So I really thank you for this different approach to the technical aspects of the creative process with Rick's studio. You really treated him and the matter with big respect and a very delicate sense of humor. For that I'm going to dig into your channel. you seem like a very nice smart dude. Thanks again, I'm sure that we all Rick's fans think the same way. ❤
I've been watching Rick for over 7 years now and seeing the gravitas he has got since covid is astonishing to me and I'm just so happy as one of those guys that knows where he comes from and what he's put in to do this
Rick you're a good sport to do this... I personally don't give two cents about the lighting. I think whatever you've been doing with the lighting is just fine. WE'RE ALL HERE FOR THE LOVE OF MUSIC!
New to the channel: I have feeling that whenever Rick is trying to say something interesting this guy starts to speak... Amount of interuptions is amazing ;)
Interesting to hear you talking about the colour of light. Without thinking any more of it, I always felt it was a very warm, welcoming environment because of the lighting.
So I’m thinking about what I have to do and this feed pops up and there’s Rick and Gerald standing next to each other and my brain goes this can’t be right and then I see the “clipboard” and it goes yippee. Another great visit by Gerald with my favorite music man. Well done.
People may have thought Beato was famous and had connections before, but true fame comes when your studio is reviewed by Gerald Undone. Remarkably good score as well.
Love that your discussing Rick Beato's setup (great) - and Haha! You're the GUY Rick always used to complain in his videos about that someone accused his background to be a Green Screen! But what's up with all of the camera shaking from your guy during the moving shots? It's very distracting. I think he needs a gimbal.
Never thought I would see that room without the blue tint :D . Let's be honest, that's the only reason Gerald went there.. he couldn't stand it LOL Pretty cool colab, two of my favorite people.
I can't believe I missed this 8 months ago! Two of my fave YTers! Oh yeah, the booger check. I nail that, but the sleep in my eyes and dandruff on the shirt is something I'm working on.
15:16 Tesla - Love Song :))
My man! Of course you knew it. You've saved my brain future torment. 🙏💜
OMG well done 👍
Never underestimate the comment section
The power of the internet shines bright again.
Haha my guess too. Nice Gerald
Now I have to listen to five man acoustical jam
Cant believe Rick rendered his whole studio in unreal engine to match his green screen just for this video. Wow
Omg ha😂
😂
Wrong. He bought 10,000 Nvidia H100s and trained an AI to create this entire video.
true dat 🤣
Seeing this comment after watching Chris Williamson literally render his podcast set in unreal engine is gold
This cross-over just melted my brain. 2 channels I watch all the time and would have never thought would collide. Thank you both!
Same here.
same lol
My Exact Thought!!😅
Word. Saw the card & was like “huh?” Now that tweet poll makes sense 😂
You just can't beat Beato! I love how generous Rick is with him time, knowledge, and studio. Always wanted to know the ins and outs of this!
Rick Rolled.
The color contrast between rick and the background is really my favorite.
And this guy is a big fast talker too. Rick’s got a bit more thought before his words come out. But hey. That’s how us ADD types go on camera and in person with a new person or nervous.
The collab all guitar TH-camrs have been waiting for!
Love Song- Tesla... this is actually what made me learn guitar.
Surprised Rick didn’t know that intro riff!
One of the best songs from the 80s.
I knew it immediately! Great guitar intro. Great band.
Ya, I was getting irritated that they didn't figure it out lol.
Not me screaming at the screen right now....😆
My wife and I both immediately yelled out "Tesla!!" Absolutely gorgeous guitar intro.
Rick is just the nicest guy... He is like your favorite buddy. What ever is ones subject for being on TH-cam? Be like him. Period
Worlds colliding! My TH-cam feed is 45% music [creation] content and 45% camera content. It's very strange (in a wonderful, amazing, fantastic sort of way) to see them together in one video!
Ditto.
Same here.@@danienelphoto
Thoroughly enjoyable but I have to say this highlights how great an interviewer Rick is because I'm his videos, he asks a question and then shuts up.
This is the collaboration I didn't even know I wanted until it popped up on my feed! XD
Exactly. Made my day!
Same ❤❤😂😂🎉🎉 My TH-cam worlds are colliding!!
Absolutely! 1000% yes!!
This video made me laugh alot as the fun and cheek of scoring rick beato in his own studio and presenting him with pruple sticker...marks for excess is also funny!!!
Rick Beato is awesome, and he’s THE oracle of all this is music. Watching his channel has become a regular part of my routine.
That might have been the first Rick Beato video I've actually watched all the way through! Thanks!
Unnecessary Flexing....love it!!! This was great! Super cool to see behind the scenes of the man, the myth, the legend!!!
Agree!
This collab was so outside my scope of possibilities. I can’t predict what you’ll do next!
OMG Guys. Instantly knew it was Tesla - Love Song off of The great radio controversy album. Great song. Great band.
Like....DAMN! LOvED THIS VIDEO. I had always wondered what was behind the cameras and in the other rooms. Rick Beato is the MAN.
@15:16..,knew it from the first 2 seconds it it Tesla- Love Song. I used to play that song a lot when I was a teenager :)
Yes! Gerald This is your song!
Excellent to see you and Rick together in a behind-the-scenes video!
That was awesome! I love the "unnecessary flexing" comment 🤣
So cool! I think Rick has such a great "TH-cam vibe" - intimate, casual, but it always sounds and looks great without trying to overdo the production value. His videos always feel like he's having a chat with us, and the lighting/audio are just subtle and... perfect. Thanks for doing this!
I'm so stoked you got to do this Gerald. Awesome!
Dude I was just thinking about you !
Wth never in a million years would I see a collab like this
Yes… I’m glad Rick got the Gerald review. He’s definitely upped his video and lighting game and always delivers amazing content!!
Rick is such a gift to the musical world
I remember when I started in Television, working for WUTR in Utica, NY. Everything was massive and expensive (working with Betacam SP). Rick is such a genuine guy
and excess isn't something a musician uses (we gotta get that next guitar or synth)
such a cool super awesome tour! 2 of my favorites! Thanks Gerald and Rick!

Rick Beato:A musical god walking amongst men!
Yes! The collab of my 💜
Now THIS IS SOMETHING !!!!!! Well fricking done Gerald!!!
I love this video - I feel like I've been missing this video for many years!!! Thank you Gerald.
what a nice surprise! Combining my two favourite worlds

I haven't even watched, but what!? My music guru hero, and he's getting Undone!! Can't wait to get to a quiet spot and watch this.
I've been watching Rick for over 7 years now and seeing the gravitas he has got since covid is astonishing to me and I'm just so happy as one of those guys that knows where he comes from and what he's put in to do this
awesome interview!!!! thanks so much for doing this one, Gerald!
Good one! I'm glad you picked Beato. I wondered what his studio is like.
Love it - best video on Rick yet
Great Tour Gearld, Such a great guy Rick Is! Love his studio.
Rick you're a good sport to do this... I personally don't give two cents about the lighting. I think whatever you've been doing with the lighting is just fine. WE'RE ALL HERE FOR THE LOVE OF MUSIC!

This is such a happy moment! What a great video!
Rick is simply great! And Gerald--very well done! Fun two see two faves in one program.
Every time I’m blown away how far you’ve come Gerald! Happy to see the intro’s still going strong!
Two legendary channels morphed into one? Amazing stuff guys. Pure gold.
Rick is cool for doing this and it makes me happy to see Gerald hanging out with another favorite creator!
Incredible. Never thought I needed this collaboration, but here I am. Two of my favourite TH-camrs together...wow!
Rick...DO NOT change your lighting! The look is cool, intimate, comfortable.
No way! I never could have seen this coming. What a small and wonderful world.
Also a fan of Rick Beato. Thanks for doing this. Really enjoyed it,
A collab I never would've expected, but this was awesome - thanks!
As a former video producer/editor/creator I geeked out over this piece. Thanks for the great look behind the curtain.
Funny. I've been watching Geralds videos for years, and suddenly... he crosses over to "my real passion", all things music. And Rick Beato. Nice.
So I’m thinking about what I have to do and this feed pops up and there’s Rick and Gerald standing next to each other and my brain goes this can’t be right and then I see the “clipboard” and it goes yippee. Another great visit by Gerald with my favorite music man. Well done.
This was brilliant! Two of my favourite contributors to the internet. Thank's guys!
Hey Rick. This is Gerald. You are an amazing musician! I love your channel!
Best series ever!
I fucking loved Rick
I still wanna know where rick gets his sick shirts from, best dressed ytber fs
Surprised to see two of my favorite creators with very different channels together in this video.
Tesla - Love Song, as everyione else is saying.. Knew it from the very beginning, but it goes to show you how similar a lot of songs realy are!
I just love TH-cam collaborations! I love both of these channels! So nice to see the crossover
So glad you are going to make a new record with your old band!!!!
People may have thought Beato was famous and had connections before, but true fame comes when your studio is reviewed by Gerald Undone. Remarkably good score as well.

Awesome video, Gerald! Great stuff man!
What Bowie called sound and vision! utterly brilliant, thanks Rick and Gerald!
Holy Sh%t you met up with Rick! this is a cross-over I didn't know I was missing. Thanks Gerald.

Rick is the best! This is such an awesome look at his studio
"You're getting the band back together?!" hahaha . Loved this episode Gerald. Thanks for covering Rick's spot!
Brilliant. My two favorite TH-camrs!
Never thought I would see that room without the blue tint :D . Let's be honest, that's the only reason Gerald went there.. he couldn't stand it LOL Pretty cool colab, two of my favorite people.
Rick is the master of excess!! 😎🤓 thanks for doing this. Love the studio.
Brilliant: two fave creators on the one video, how cool!
Nice to see Rick having fun.
"Unnecessary Flexing" 😂 and got no response .. 8:40
Funny seeing 2 totally different people I follow together
Whoa! Cool crossover video Gerald! (and that's Tesla's Love Song)
My life is complete!
So cool that your doing the tour with Beato! He is a genius musical figure. Great choice.
Cool professional recording studio.
This was SO FUN watching Rick get Undone! (Seriously, I loved seeing the BTS of how his videos are done, er, undone!) :0)))
This is a crazy collab. I did not expect this
That was a lot of fun!!
I'm ordering compressed fiberglass walls immediately
Owens Corning 703, wrapped in fabric. So many radio studios also have that stuff, it's not too expensive either!
Best collab ever!
Not a musician or a video guy, but I love it! Good job getting undone!
Hold me now, I'm 6 feet from the edge and Im thinking, maybe Gerald made this up?
Love Song, Tesla. I learned how to play that song in probably 1990. Great song.
I can't believe I missed this 8 months ago! Two of my fave YTers! Oh yeah, the booger check. I nail that, but the sleep in my eyes and dandruff on the shirt is something I'm working on.
Gerald-With the Einstein of Music Theory!!!!
Can't believe I missed this post! Great vid! Legendary collab haha
