It doesn’t come any better than this. This was my dads favorite Christmas song. Grew up on this bluegrass music. I sure miss my daddy. We’d always get the instruments out on the holidays and make some music. He’d say let’s do some pickin’ boys. I know he’s enjoying his fourth heavenly Christmas around the throne this year.
We don't have this beautiful music like this any more. We lost a great young man when we lost Keith Whitely. Also loved Ralph Stanley's music. Don't make them like this anymore.
Wow, Keith was one of my all time favorites. I love how Ralph is humming it amd throwing in a little vocal in between. That's just about as good as it gets.
Was blessed to see Ralph and Keith sing this many times and listen to it 1,000's of times. It's not Christmas without this song and Christmas Time's A Coming by Bill Monroe.
WOW Kieth was just a kid back then. Ralph was way much younger back then also. I knew Kieth played with Ralph IF I’m not mistaken I believe Ricky Skaggs did to. Ralph gave so many artists a good start as well did Bill Monroe. RIP to them both
Oh, beautiful star of Bethlehem Shining far through shadows dimmed Giving the light for those who long have gone Guiding the wise men on their way Unto the place where Jesus lay Oh, beautiful star of Bethlehem, shine on Oh, beautiful star, the hope of light Guiding the pilgrims through the night Over the mountains 'til the break of dawn Into the land of perfect day It will give out a lovely ray Oh, beautiful star of Bethlehem, shine on Oh, beautiful star (beautiful, beautiful star) of Bethlehem Shine upon us until the glory dawns Give us a lamp to light the way Unto the land of perfect day Oh, beautiful star of Bethlehem, shine on Oh, beautiful star, the hope of grace For the redeemed, the good and the blessed Yonder in glory when the crown is one Jesus is now the star divine Brighter and brighter, he will shine Oh, beautiful star of Bethlehem, shine on Oh, beautiful star (beautiful, beautiful star) of Bethlehem Shine upon us until the glory dawns Give us a lamp to light the way Unto the land of perfect day Oh, beautiful star of Bethlehem shine on Give us a lamp to light the way Unto the land of perfect day Oh, beautiful star of Bethlehem, shine on Source: Musixmatch Songwriters: Adger M Pace / R Fisher Boyce

Beautiful
My grandma took me to churches with music like this.
My dad told me she'd sing this song to him.
I think it's not really that old. Maybe 1934 or so.
Two greats gone on.
My favorite version. Nice tempo and great soul!
Wow! So beautiful.
First rendition I ever heard fell in love with it then and still love it. Best version ever!!!

Stanley and Monroe, the true patriarchs of bluegrass music.
Oh, beautiful star of Bethlehem
Shining far through shadows dimmed
Giving the light for those who long have gone
Guiding the wise men on their way
Unto the place where Jesus lay
Oh, beautiful star of Bethlehem, shine on
Oh, beautiful star, the hope of light
Guiding the pilgrims through the night
Over the mountains 'til the break of dawn
Into the land of perfect day
It will give out a lovely ray
Oh, beautiful star of Bethlehem, shine on
Oh, beautiful star (beautiful, beautiful star) of Bethlehem
Shine upon us until the glory dawns
Give us a lamp to light the way
Unto the land of perfect day
Oh, beautiful star of Bethlehem, shine on
Oh, beautiful star, the hope of grace
For the redeemed, the good and the blessed
Yonder in glory when the crown is one
Jesus is now the star divine
Brighter and brighter, he will shine
Oh, beautiful star of Bethlehem, shine on
Oh, beautiful star (beautiful, beautiful star) of Bethlehem
Shine upon us until the glory dawns
Give us a lamp to light the way
Unto the land of perfect day
Oh, beautiful star of Bethlehem shine on
Give us a lamp to light the way
Unto the land of perfect day
Oh, beautiful star of Bethlehem, shine on
