Really good tips here. Perhaps change your title to include "Volvo" or "V70XC" and then TH-cam will steer this video to those who are looking for those topics. I have posted several videos about my V70XC including the PCV/Oil pan, etc. Perhaps they may interest you. Great tip about using spray adhesive on the o-rings (I used grease, but adhesive is better, thanks!) Craig
Great video, same for all the 5 cil engines in a ford focus or escape/kuga. I did one 5 cil overhaul with one and used loc-tite 518 who is anarobic sealant too. The oil pan seals was a lot easier to do because the engine was upside down. Maybe another tip is to use original seals, they have the right thickness to make a good seal.
Just did that job the same way was worried about the spray glue but no problems so far. This is pretty much the only way to be sure they don't move. same with the anaerobic sealant thats the only way to go. easy to clean and install. Make sure to clean both mating surfaces from oil. Also on the V50 the bolts are different lengths so use cardboard to mark them so you can assemble in the same place.
Woow thank you so much man, I'm just in the middle of this process checking youtube for someone who did it already with more brain than me, and guess what I found him 😂
How many k's were on the engine? And what about an engine flush before doing oil changes on high mileage engines or equivalent amount of diesel to help clean the crap that can clog things like the separator and oil pick up oil pan etc ? Cheers
A few questions. I do believe that certain years had oil level sensors. Which years? Also, is it necessary to remove the subframe first? Lastly, do you have torque specifications for all of the bolts?
You didn't mention the special sealant to use on the oil pan bolts. And for such an experienced sounding person, you really globbed on the anaerobic sealant.
It wasn't glob done I used a roller it's almost like a paint roller puts it on so thin that when it squeezes together none of it goes outside or inside.
@@reallyhappenings5597anaerobic sealant, there's several companies that make it I think the one that I use is a fel-Pro version you use a paint roller to put it in.

Ha, I was about to link you to this video and ask about the spray adhesive. Glad to see you commented already!

Thank you very much for that video 👍👍
This is gold. Thanks for the tips
