that fuckin "talkin to someone who isnt there? huh." from harry is actually fucking hilarious
“Hmph” hahaha
Harry: "Man, that guy is a freak! Ain't he son?" *Imaginary pat on the back*
Harrison has no idea that he was almost sacrificed on the roof of a skyscraper during a solar eclipse with an ancient Roman sword. His father should have mentioned it.
Huh?
@@MatthewSmith-uf6trwhat do you mean huh? That’s exactly what Travis tried to do
No need to mention anything from S6 ever again
But somehow he remembered trinity, new blood was stupid
How's that for dad lore.
28:40 it was a regular sunday for Dexter, a doomsday for Travis, a regular episode of Dexter for us, and the twist of a lifetime for Deborah.
16:30 - The guy is startled by someone he can see and looks up past Dexter, but Dexter doesn't instantly turn around....something that could make him susceptible to being attacked himself. Most people would respond by immediately turning around. That brief detail highlighting Dexter's situational awareness was kinda brilliant.
Fixing the end in New Blood will be impossible as the new series, playing a younger Dexter will be the production project.
Kinda reaching there... at that point Dexter believed that Travis wasn't even a killer, just a reluctant former follower wanting to be left alone. And meeting Travis at his workplace was a good way to make sure that Dex would be safe should push come to shove.
@@randallflagg3700 I don’t think you understand the concept of situational awareness. Being conditioned enough to stay focused in a potentially dangerous confrontation due to experience is a reach to you, but Dexter processing ALL of that stuff you explained in milliseconds is plausible? Lmao.
Man is the most dangerous game and Dexter played the game well
@@YoloslidesThe guy coming in from behind could also be a danger to you
The scene of Dexter as a devil on Travis shoulder is amazing
Freemason pfp?
Time stamp
Here's the dialogue that was left out towards the end.
Travis: The world is going to end. And when it does, I will be by God's side.
Dexter: You sure?
Travis: Yes.
Dexter: Good for you.
I think the most chilling part of this whole arc when watching it for a second time is when they interview Holly, the victim Travis let go, and she describes both Travis and Gellar. Meaning that Travis' voice, strength, even they way his footsteps sounded changed when he turned into Gellar. Or imagining how his sister must've been begging "Travis" not to kill her, only for "Gellar" to respond "Travis couldn't do this, he's too weak" or something like that. Spooki af.
2011 going into 2012 was such a crazy time. Everybody really thought New Year's day 2012 was gonna be the end of the world and so many shows and movies absolutely ran with that.
No only idiots thought it was the end.
@hainleysimpson1507 I think you're underestimating the number of idiots in the world 😅
"Everybody"? Very few people actually believed it or took it seriously
@@Binks182I wasn’t alive then but wasn’t it the 2000th new year that had people thinking it was the end of the world
@manny6510 that was called y2k. I was born in 97 so I don't remember. From what my parents told me it was sensationalized by the media. Majority of people thought it was bs as well. For some reason people didn't believe that computers were going to work past 1999 because of the way they were formatted. Lots of nonsense.
More plausible then some random mayan calendar meaning the end of the world in 2012
People really hate this villain but I think it's more the seasons fault, I think Travis had so much potential to be the final villain for Dexter if written properly. The final season being Dexter's "Doomsday" (so to speak) could've been epic, and Travis having a dark passenger of his own made him, on paper at least, a great foil to Dexter.
He kills in the name of "God's will" and Dexter kills in the name of "the greater good" but the reality is they both kill because they want to.
Also an unpopular opinion, but I liked the idea of Dexter discovering a sense of morality/religion through a rehabilitated criminal as an interesting idea.
It could've been the best season as well as the best sendoff, but in typical Dexter fashion, they flubbed it.
I love how the cops simply triggered the trap because they simply were not watching where they are going
Was looking for this comment
Then after they literally made the trap go off and horrifically end that girl they proceed to rush over and open another mysterious door and get distracted by bugs.
“I left Gellar in pieces in the swamp” how nonchalant he says it😂
I like how in the first scene, you can see Travis was alone in the car.
There's also the scene in the diner when the waitress comes up and only addresses Travis, and tops off his coffee but not Gellar's. Really cool going back and seeing all the little hints they left.
where can you see that? that scene shows Gellar in the car, even in the long shot when he gets out, there's just too much reflecting off the windshield to see him sitting in the passenger seat, but there's a figure sitting/moving there still beneath the reflection.
I've been looking for more videos about Travis! This is perfect!
This is red flag comment ever
I liked this storyline. Travis had to be a dork .
Didn't see the end coming , with him and Debra
One of the best twists in the series
Now we finally know what the admiral did after building his cabin and living tens of thousands of years. PTSD thinking all those innocents were cylons.
Battlestar Galactca.. great show.
Colin Hanks is an amazing actor... i feel like he gets slept on just because of who his dad is
yep, he was great in Fargo
Man the dude that plays dex really is so good with facial expressions and emotions
That Colin Hanks always playing a bad guy.
Underrated villain in my opinion
I agree!! I don't understand why fans dislike this season and the villain so much.. Season 6 is the most underrated, although it is much better than the third
@@hellawesomoff the whole split personality was actually clever to me that caught me off guard in a great way
I don’t like when hostages say help me when the mf being held hostage his damn self
Travis Marshall had a dark passenger of his own.
😀😀
Literally everyone in this show has a dark passenger.
They should do a spin off about the dark passenger because in the book it’s an actual demon
“pLeAsE FiX nEw bLoOd EnDinG.”
Hah beat you sucker!
Hahahaha
The ending was fine. Not the most elegant resolution to the story; but they got it where it needed to go. The season itself was a huge waste of time. I didn’t need to see Harrison slouch around while Dexter tripped over his words trying to talk to him for 9 Episodes before getting his chest blown apart.
How many times is an unoriginal loser like you gonna steal that comment now 🙄
@michaelsieger9133 no it wasn't dexter ended on season 4
Dexter's season 8 ending was insulting enough for a close out of Dexter's story. But New Blood felt like the Alien: Resurrection or Matrix: Resurrection to Dexter's Alien³ & Matrix Revolutions. You think it ended badly once, but take a look at how much worse it could be.
12:28 "I don't feel good. I, I, got....."
anyone else expect him to say he had a sore throat?
21:03 I like that it only has one working headlight😅
It was actually 11 people that Travis killed, not 10.
From the very 1st scene when he gets out of the car you can see the Professor isn't really there once he's outside it....
Don’t get me wrong I do like parts of season 6, it had a comic book feel to it. But it just made me feel dexter was getting sloppy. Waiting to take a kill out, getting caught by Deb and more. I just don’t want Dexter to fail. But I also didn’t like the path the writers went down either. I don’t know.. I probably wouldn’t be happy with any ending
dexter was always too absurdist to end in a satisfying way. the show asks us to believe so many things which just can’t be true, it was never a serious character study of a real sort of person.
breaking bad is a similarly exaggerated reality but it was so grounded in relatable motivation from everybody involved that a satisfying ending was possible. this show? the protagonist AND antagonists are nearly completely unrelatable. it can’t go anywhere we find deeply satisfying or moving- and maybe that’s proper for an empty guy like dexter.
Naturally. Dexter’s sloppiness started pissing me off by season 3. Getting caught by Miguel, being enamored with Trinity (can we call him that anymore given the 4 victim cycle?) and eventually caught by trinity. Rita’s death, the guy he killed who was framed, Travis’ death, the stupidity of Laquerta catching on to him, Deb’s death and sea burial…etc…
It was a lot of fuckups. Absolutely annoying. Still love the show though.
Dexter really just let everyone think an innocent man was a serial killer killed by his partner
Do u think Tom Hanks saw this arc
i bet he did a hearty hanks laugh. Maybe possibly slapped his knee-- but i wouldn't bet money on that.
Hope not. That was shitty acting
I’m sure he did.
Research for his forest gump role?
OMG, which season? This is amazing!
season 6
I would watch a show about Masuka.
This season was Peak Dexter IMHO
Really? I thought season 2 and 4 was the best
He was the best villian
This was the worst villain of the whole show
I liked it when it was "2" villains. Travis alone is a dork
nah it was pretty interesting kills
Brain Surgeon would beg to differ.
Most cheesiest villain for sure. His kills were very unique I’ll give him that, but I feel they definitely could’ve written him better or his story at least.
@@vicwaters87yeah I was about to comment that lmao he was the epitome of a terrible villain, boring af and only existed to kill Deb
"no one used iron to make a weapon" what kinda crack were the writers on? Steel is just iron with carbon in it. Im so confused.
Steel doesn't rust. He meant iron itself isn't used.
Lt. Jones has gone off the deep end.
Haha no doubt
Lmao
7:10 sooooo gormless cop just kills someone and nothing comes of it? not even a disciplinary..?
Most realistic part of the show.
i dont know if my screen has bad quality, but isnt the passenger seat empty when he exits the car for the first kill?
Not a single mark on his neck after escaping getting garrotted.
The cord wasn't even pushing on his neck either during the car scene, They probably wouldn't put the actor in any danger
@@Gudbrand1 Unless the actor says good for it - which is a bit embarrassing that he didn't ask to at least remove the slack. And they could have just given him a red mark on his neck with a bit of makeup.
@EmoEmu Don't think it's up to the actor. The props guys were probably using something elastic rather than an actual rope to avoid any issue
Shut tf up you the type to say move and shows should do real life shit but cry when a famous mf die
He Must have preferred dc, or he would have been the Thanos killer.
He sounds like his dad when he yells
Yeahhhhh this season was tough. Granted, the last 4 seasons were
I don’t know why they always flinch at the scalpel, those things are as sharp as sharp can get. You don’t even feel it.
Probably cos getting cut in the face with something like that sends a kind of shock to your brain like a fight or flight instinct or smth im guessing
If it was a quick slice you probably wouldn't feel it but notice Dexter really pushes it in so I think that causes the flinch
@@MikeMJPMUNCHpushed it in the backdoor
odd comment. even if youre under total anesthesia; seeing your own flesh being cut into will provoke a psychological response without fail.
@@TannuWannu why do you like the backdoor so much?
Dexter saying "Oh God" even though he's an atheist.
yeah it’s just a common expression plenty of atheists use it
It’s shortened. The full saying is “Oh God (who doesn’t exist outside our minds and can’t be proven to exist outside of it with verifiable evidence)”
Yep, the show went downhill fast after this one.
*That whole Travis/Gellar thing was so badly done, for a show that thrived on great writing I think this was the start of the shows downfall.*
Such a bad pick to make Colin Hanks the killer.. He was horrible as a killer and this is arguably the worst villian/killer of the series.
How
@@boa9557 just look at popular opinion. Everybody hated it.
@@InThaKornerWell, I did like him, and for me he is the most evil, twisted and ruthless killer that Dexter has ever faced.
He is not the typical murderer who kills because he hates women or because his father beat him, Travis is a true psychopath, sick in the head, and I like that added to his mental problems they add the factor of a religious fanatic who uses God as an excuse to commit their atrocities. And the show was so brilliant that it made us believe that the bad guy was Professor Gellar, and that Travis was just a poor fool victim of him, but to find out that in fact Gellar was murdered by Travis and that he was the one who did all those horrible things.
It was shocking, realizing that he killed his own sister, and all those innocent people. For me, without a doubt, he is the most disturbing of the serie, much more so than the Trinity Killer.
@@wonderwomanredson Trinity killer all the way. He was the most ruthless. Shot Dexter's sister and killed her boyfriend in the FBI. Trinity killed Dexter's wife right in front of his baby boy, Harrison. The religious nut wasn't ruthless, he was crazy. For years he talked to the priest he murdered in cold blood. Crazy people aren't ruthless. They are just crazy. Being ruthless takes much more than dedication to God. It takes dedication to the craft.
Tom Hanks' brother is dangerous.
Son, not brother.
That's his son
And his other son is in your honor he plays Joey, Carlos best friend
7:11 since when did the doomsday killer turn into Jigsaw?
What kind of dumbass cop keeps walking towards the tied up girl alive and moaning no and shaking her head.
That was the worst and best way to emd a show and make people excited for the next season
I just realized this guy was controlled by a demon legion
Best season and villian for me
I can understand why for you this is the best season, but why is he the best villain? For me It's actually the most: weak, borring and with a really crazy/dumb motivation.
@@quitrope0138 dumbest motivation has to be tree cutter dude. Travis was just insane.
@@mocolabeverages24 - what sucks is that the tree cutter dude (George King aka "The Skinner") was adapted from a great villain from the books (Martin Heinker, aka "Dr Danco") who had a decent motivation; revenge against his fellow military comrades who had betrayed him, and Doakes was one of them.
On the other hand, George King/Skinner wanted to find Freebo because he owed him money, okay, but their criminal connection was never made clear, was it? It's been a long time...
Freebo was a relatively small time drug dealer, and the Skinner was a tree trimmer who had his own business, why were they even associated in the first place?
I mean I can guess that the skinner was a fellow drug dealer/user/smuggler, but it's never even hinted at...
Me and my granny too man. It was dark AF
@@quitrope0138 definitely the best villain too, he was an amazing foe for Dexter and almost had Harrison dead.
Fix Dexter New Blood ending please
Nah nah I got this one, go back to sleep 😂
Shut up with this shit.
The ending was fine. It had to happen. The season fucking sucked though.
I know I wanted it to keep going, just make it so dexter miraculously wakes up from gunshot wound OR...his son becomes the new dexter, shoot it somewhere tropical like Miami was,put an early 2000's filter on it so it looks like the original show, not everything has to be 4k. Get the same writers, cinematographers, props, etc.
Joe Kessler and Butcher 2.0
Batiste sucks he couldn't solve a puzzle without Dexter.
How tf was he able to get that many locusts?
I never understood how he went full evil by the end…
What episode did this start on?
6:39 I wonder if, in their research, the writers actually read the Bible and realized it's the opposite of doomsday that we are heading towards...
The world still ends, that’s the definition of doomsday. It’s very interesting that every generation, or even decade, there’s always somebody saying the world will end. It has never happened before and likely will not happen, but beliefs are powerful and kinda stupid unless you believe it yourself
Im the blood guy
That's what he said to Benny Gomez in the Season 4 premiere "Living the Dream".
@@user-dj1qp8ph6wthe way he said it made me laugh
Travis did not in fact have second thoughts
Bad villain but great kills one of the most gruesome kills in the series
Colin Hanks is almost as good an actor as his dad.
Normally police is more careful than this. To walk against the wire like that is so clumsy.
My favourite villain the Doomsday Killer ❤🥹
Commander Adama destroying the 12
12:33 who I’m named after
Bro got gaslit fr.
Colin Hanks is the stepson of actress Rita Wilson.
What about that whole scene where Colin Hanks doesn't let the professor in and says he doesn't want to go forward (and the phone call)? Doesn't make sense.. who was that for? Dexter wasn't watching then, was he? Sloppy writing, or am I missing something?
The cult of MLK and the watchers would’ve been a way better villain for this season. This group of killers was so terrifying that Dexter‘s dark passenger vacated his body, and the elder of the cult of Molak seemed to have actual supernatural abilities for some reason it was way better than this pansy ass Doomsday freak
Martin Looter King?
Molak?
The cult of Molok comes from the Dexter novels. It's a cult that kills people religiously.
The cult of Molak would sacrifice children in a bronze bull. If you don't know that either, a bronze bull was a bull made of bronze, and they would set fire to it, and the person inside would cook to death.
They came from the Dexter novels.
Florida doesn't have front license tags!!!!
What if they cought Dexter on video and are like wtf
People who didn't like this villain and the season can go to hell! It was a great season, much better than the third. And the villain in Travis was much more interesting than Miguel from the third season.
Oh, it's Tom Hanks' son.
this show was at least two seasons too long :c
bro was NOT the alpha 💀💀
Bro thinks he’s Tom hanks son or sum 😭💀🙏
I love Colin hanks but he was in over his head for this role.
It sucks they got Tom Hank’s son to be the villain for this season and he was a complete joke

This was the part where the series starting become stale and boring. You could tell they ran out of ideas by the way they decided to end season 8.
