🇭🇹【4K】Walking around Cap Haitien on a Wednesday Afternoon | Streets of Haiti 2022

  • On our 1st day in Cap Haitien, we decided to take a walk and see what was happening around the city. We walked through the square by Cathedrale Notre Dame de Cap Haitien (a.k.a. Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral). The cathedral dates back to 1670, when Haiti was a colony of France. It was in this square of the cathedral that the liberation of the slaves was proclaimed on August 29th 1793. We then walked down to Cap Haitien Boulevard (Boulevard du Cap-Haitian) a waterfront strip with lots of bars, restaurants and hotels. We ran into some interesting high schoolers and captured a funny moment. Like, comment and subscribe!

Yeah, I heard a lot of Afro beat in DR, Colombia and Haiti. Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, Bella Smurda, etc. A lot of people in these countries are descended from Igbo and Yoruba people so it's could just be in the DNA lol. I didn't hear it in Brazil though, probably due to the distance from English speaking countries.

If cap Haitian was clean there would be a lot more foreign visitors. It's a beautiful city. It's unfortunate that they don't clean up the streets and build more beach resorts. It would've been a popular tourist destination. Just like Montego bay in Jamaica. Haiti is a beautiful country that's being neglected.

Well good thing Haiti is more then just a “tourist destination” and “beach resorts”. Gives me hope that the motivation for the development of the nation would be one coming from a more substantial and valuable aspects of Haiti, when it comes to the Locals and People of Haiti for their nation may be prosperous for THEM to enjoy first and foremost.

@Ace Leveland u are a victim of low iq apparently because u seem to not have the simple skill of looking for context, when it comes to my statement. Or you don’t know how to read. I said “Haiti is not just a tourist destination” as to say that i am completely against the thought of thinking of Haiti as a place and nation for a oppressive industry as tourism. Auguring the point that i person i responded to made. So no, apparently ur assumption of what i said, is a testament to your lack of simple comprehension of a statement.

Can anyone answer me this, and i do not mean any disrespect whatsoever. Most Haitian houses i've seen built in DR or from many videos i watched about Haiti it seems most owners choose not to paint the exterior. Is the reason due to cost or something else? -Thanks ahead of time

    Thanks Zu Travels !
This may be unorthodox but what prompted me to watch your video was me missing my wife.. RESPECTFULLY., is there anyway possibly the woman at the 3:50 time marker., in that gray dress can be found there in Cap Haiti., again., yes., I’m missing everything about my late wife i.e., her mannerism her way of life, her sense of style., my late wife was such a lady., so again., how can I find and or get assistance in finding the young lady., there in your video underneath that MEGACEL store from sign?
The music group the Commodores., their song “Zoom” about a Man with foolish dreams is my state of mind right now., but I would like to speak to that Haitian lady at the 3:50 marker of your video, if she’s married (the lady underneath the MEGACEL sign in that gray dress) I digress., if she’s happy their in Haiti I also digress., but.. if her dreams are to come to America.. I would surly like to work with her and the Haiti Embassy here in Atlanta, Georgia., in getting her here to the United States., legally!
Zu Travels., I’m thankful for your walking around Cape Haiti on a Wednesday afternoon., video., but., question can that lady be found., if she’s still there in Haiti via your Zu Travels., assistance?
Again., my thoughts and state of mind are that of the Music group The Commodores., their song “Zoom”., me and my foolish dreams of finding a different soul / person, of the woman I will always love., my late Haitian wife., that woman in your video reminds me of my wife so much!
Thanks again., I’m sending my thank you also., in your Thanks$ App., attached too this video., truly THANK YOU., SO MUCH!!!!
    th-cam.com/video/ZSR5MrikWxw/w-d-xo.html
The link above is The Commodores Zoom song., and how me finding the Haitian lady @ your 3:50 marker., may be my foolish thoughts but like the song say., I truly don’t care how foolish I am., I was advise NOT to travel to Haiti right now due to the ongoing uprest in Haiti., so i

“Very old” simply means preserved history. what your asking for is modernization, which for a nation full of life and culture has to stay true to its architectural practices, only implementing things that improve sustainability, safety, and affordability. Flashy stuff is for the foreign businessman looking to make a fortune off of Haitian backs.
