So incredibly sad for the Haitian people. Praying for change for them and sending much love. Sean is amazing in helping show what's going on in his country. Thank you Nick for bringing awareness for the Haitian people.
The face-frames you gave to those angry people at the gas station, like at 8:52 and 10:48, absolutely amazing. PLEASE keep doing it, giving people open mike and face-framing them - angry people, happy people, sad people. And the Hat-Guy at 18:53 is just swagging his life. Did you try to give him some time?
Nick, your journalism is first class. It takes a special kind of person to do what you do. I appreciate how you don’t just “beautify” a country (just see the good stuff) without taking away the beauty that is inherent to the country. This series has been phenomenally disturbing and riveting. My heart goes out to the people of Haiti.
Genuinely terrified, but still a must-watch to open our eyes and look at the world as is. Now I understand why other vloggers avoid Haiti; it's a dangerous place for sure and also a very delicate and fragile story to tell. Hats off, as usual ❤️❤️
I know a young lady who traveled to Haiti as part of a Christian mission after one of the major quakes. I was obviously very concerned for her safety, but I didn't want to let my fears limit her potential. She said the most surprising part was the children. They didn't mind that their shoes didn't match, they were very happy they had two. She said these children lived in abject poverty, but they always greeted the missionaries with the biggest smiles. They were genuinely happy. Then she landed back in the United States where our children struggle with sadness and depression, yet have the best of everything.
Nick, your Haiti videos has been one of the most importany journalism i've seen in a very long time, so far. I applaud your bravery and humbleness. Also, Sean if you are seeing this, you are a hero, pls know that. Keep up the good work guys. I can already tell these videos will have an impact.
Dude that guide you have is amazing! So funny, when he told you he was driving you across that no man’s land. What a guy. Praying for him to be prosperous and safe
I just want to tell you that you are by far my favorite person to watch on youtube. You are so talented, brave and your content is so original and I love that you incorporate helping the people you meet. Thank you for putting yourself in risky situations in order to shine a light on these incredible international current events that we otherwise wouldn't fully understand.
Amazing journalism here, brother. As a fellow Caribbean person, I feel strongly for the people of Haiti. Nobody should ever experience such hardship, but to know it's happening "right next door" is especially sad. Maybe one day it'll get better but I'm not particularly hopeful, and it appears neither are they.
why such a beautiful tropical place has to suffer the most this is insane and i will never get it, its hard to see those locals talking and still smiling here and there
Watching this makes me think about how great full I am for what I have. A roof over my head, clean water and access to food. I wouldn’t ever want to go to the places you go but I do have a lot of sympathy for those constantly living there. Thanks for your vids nick
@@IndigoTraveller nick u should have a bullet proof vest on in Haiti, especially at that crowded gas station .I knew someone who was filming a violent protest during the Arab spring in eygpt, and was stabbed, I guess the attacker didn't like the fact the guy was filming the violent protest.
Really respect what you are doing. I used to live in Haiti and it’s really sad to see where they are now. Even more sad that we don’t have more real news about the country. You do an amazing job ! Very calm, understanding, fearless and one with the people. Totally translates to us watching and those you are around in person. 🙏
I’ve been to Haiti a dozen times and visited these areas and experienced the extremes he captures in his journalism and documentary. Much credit brother. This country is need of true leadership and revolution.
I was a soldier for over a decade, but Nick is a lot braver than me for sure. He is a good example of why I find what society as a whole deems "manly" regarding "proper" masculine tendencies is not an accurate measure of a man/person. This guy goes into war zones unarmed without well-trained battle buddies to his left and right to tell the stories of the people in areas other journalists are hesitant to enter. He lays it all on the line. Respect.
yes, i also feel like what truly makes a man into a real man is gentle courage. he is gentle and a good listener with the people he comes into contact with yet seeks to protect himself and those he’s with and does not choose violence whenever possible.
Here in south Florida we have many Haitian and Haitian descent residents. They’re always such a pleasure to be around, friendly, and hard working. Thank you so much for this series, it’s really helped me understand a lot of the commentary I’ve heard from them over the years about the situation in Haiti. The country is not very far from us, but the realities of these places rarely get covered in the news. On another note, please visit Cuba. The situation there now is crazy and there are more migrant boats and rafts showing up here in Florida than any time since the mariel boat lift in 1980. The Cuban residents need your exposure, we don’t see anything of their struggle as it’s so buried and cloaked by the powers that be. It would be a dangerous mission but possible, as I don’t believe you’re traveling on a US passport. Thanks for all you do Nick, truly fascinating work that adds so much value to the world’s stage. Cheers!
Yeah, they're all angels.....all those Haitian gangs in Florida are just misunderstood. these "people" would rape, skin, and then set you on fire without a second thought.
Where you find these ones ive inly seen the complete opposite they were cool to talk with but then proceeded to tell me when he was young in haiti he watch the gangs and police commit genocide on its white citizens and almost 💀 everyone on the island however they seek all our money and help now along with coming to America complaining about white men then I found out the true side of him when i asked if he hated white men so much y didn’t he just go back (since his dad owned some concrete company their and was wealthy “supposedly”) then wanted to avoid the question and fight me if that your version of great to be around idk what to say lol but again like i said idk where them are im in central fl
@@thekingflea2199 cap, there has been no genocide of any group of white Haitians since 1804, when all the remaining french on the island were killed and only the Polish and Germans were spared. Now if you wanna hold a grudge over something that happened over 200 years ago then we would have bring up the more recent genocides and massacres that your country (the USA) has done against black people. If you don't have a problem with those you shouldn't have a problem with what happened in 1804.

The views may not say it, but this is definitely the most intense, eye opening series you've posted yet. My heart aches, my stomach churns.. I couldn't eat the food I was eating before starting this series.... My heart just hurts so much....
Sean your guide is the real MVP of this series, the things he has shown you and us, while also just telling it how it is there despite the clear danger of that he is saying.
thank you for this video, im from the Dominican Republic and everything that happens in Haiti is really concernig for the whole island. I hope our neighboring country finds the right path for peace and prosperity.
That scene at the gas station was complete chaos and you were right in the thick of it. Props to you my dude, you’re doing work that most journalists don’t have the balls to do
Watching your Haiti series has been incredibly anxiety provoking, and I'm not even there! I know you are both doing your best to be careful and stay safe, but you've honestly been lucky nothing has happened to you. I know you want good footage and to be able to show all of us everything on the ground in Haiti, but it's not worth it if something happens to you. PLEASE STAY SAFE! This is truly been a captivating series.
Sean is amazing guy. I'm 41 years old and I seen a lot . But I have never seen anything like that. And it's very disheartening because Haiti was one of the places I went on my last deployment and we did hurricane relief. I can't believe what I just saw. I pray 🙏🏽 for all of the people there for God to help them get through. Thanks for your time and risking your life to make this series I know it was a lot to take in when you see something like that in person because it was a lot to take in just watching.
Nick you are an absolute legend. I stumbled upon your channel a few weeks ago and been waiting in great anticipation for the next Haitian episode each week. I’m from the UK 🇬🇧 myself but was raised in Saint Vincent 🇻🇨 during the 70s. The work you’re doing is so important brother. Sean is also truly amazing as a guide who genuinely cares about his country and your safety. I wish you both safe travels in all of your pursuits. God bless you for your amazing work bro. 🙏🏾
Nick, your work and documentation of countries like Haiti is amazing. You are so down to earth and appreciate the risks you take. Good luck with your future trips to other countries and stay safe man.
Sean is right up there with my all time favorite guide you’ve had, which is Lenny from Venezuela. I can see in his eyes when he’s a little worried but he keeps is cool. And he has a great sense of humor despite what’s going on in his country.
Having a local independent journalist as a fixer usually would seem like a bad idea because it would bias your journalism. But this guy Sean was great, and there’s not much “spin” to put on what is happening in Haiti, it’s pretty much what you see. And he showed you, and by extension us, what is happening. Good stuff, man. 👍🏼
Sean’s eyes have so much to say. So much emotion and experience in them. Plain to see, leaping out at you. They say “this is my story” and that is all you need to know everything of it
You blow my mind with every trip Nick. Your drive and ability to get so in depth with your reporting and documenting it’s just… wow. Keep up the good work man and stay safe. Love your videos 💯
Man, I just love your channel! I don't really know how to describe it, a mix of journalism, sociology investigation, and a lot of human extreme experience...
Some Crazy places you put yourself in Nick. Once again you produce some very good content. Makes us appreciate living in our home country of New Zealand. Our complaints seem pathetic compared to the daily struggles for these guys in Haiti - Great Journo work again Nick - Stay safe bro
I live in South Africa 🇿🇦 we have our issues and our government is for the most corrupt but at least we have it way better compared to Haiti and most other African countries.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I went to Haiti in the summer of 1982 with a church missionary trip. What a beautiful country with beautiful people. It breaks my heart to see the country in this state.
Please continue making these. It really helps us know what's going on in other countries. As well as getting a bit of an understanding where and what some new immigrants in Canada the U.S.A etc... went through.
Excellent work Nick and Sean. Haitians have to be some of the most resilient people on earth. The artesian gentleman has an incredibly positive outlook in the midst of such raw chaos! What a powerful mindset! Jaw dropping content. No words..
If you are still here, stay safe. You are only seeing a small part of this beautiful country and her resilient people. It is an important story to tell. Thank you so much for what you are doing to show the current reality.
I can’t even stop myself from being completely destroyed seeing my people living like this is more than heartbreaking to me. My entire family is still there my sisters, my brother my niece and nephews. I am on edge every day praying and hoping they are safe.
Shut up. If you are Haitian than your people will be fin3. WHITE PEOPLE DONT CARE FOR YOU. If Haiti was a problem they would’ve help along time ago. They cause issues in Haiti than say omg you’re not smart enough to see a way out. When we stand up and say we will call another COUNTRY to help. THOSE PEOPLE ARE KILL. Now you have people saying I wish my parents where safe when you are protecting their killers . The killer doesn’t live where he kills but he’ll show you the after shots. Smh be HAITIAN at heart see the lies from the liars. We believe in people NOT COLOR OR IDEALS. PEOPLE the best version of you.
My heart is breaking for the people of Haiti 💔😭 Thank You for risking your own safety to show us the real story , I had no idea it was this bad...... A huge thank you to Sean , what an amazing man . I pray life improves for him , his family & the people of Haiti. ❤

Can’t stop watching these videos, such a learning experience every time, thank you Nick for what you’re doing. Was shocked when I saw a poster from Sweden in one of the homes at 0:42
Nick of all the series that you've done I could be wrong but I get the sense this is the one you've been most scared/terrified of? As a viewer it comes across that way. Some amazing work you are doing to show the reality of what is happening on the ground. One of the most heart-breaking things for me - usually when you are interviewing the locals they have hope things will get better and are excited for the future. The people of Haiti don't seem to feel this way.
Kinda started feeling the tears welling up this time. Just thinking about this man, Sean. You get to leave with your safety and health. Your loved ones will carry on a normal life. He’ll be stuck there to continue dealing with it. I know if it’s hard for me to think about, it must have been truly heartbreaking for you to leave that man. He seems to be a one of a kind, truly wonderful human being.
I felt exactly this way and for the first time in my life felt the urge so send someone money directly to do good things with it. So that's what I did with Sean :)
The scene at the pumps was incredible in many ways. Initially, it seemed a lot of people were glaring in your direction, not happy with a potential foreign journalist there. But then everyone started opening up and using your camera as an outlet to air their grievances. Once again some of the best on-the-ground journalism happening (even if you don't necessarily consider yourself one).
Wow!!! 😯 I've watched all three of your Haiti videos. My hat's off to you for putting yourself out there like that! Real Respect to you and your guide Sean 🙏 💯 for keeping it real for the people watching this, but still keeping you safe! The world needs journalists like that, who are real people giving it straight. Anyways, looking forward to the next Haiti vid & keep safe ✌
You are the best travel vlogger on all of TH-cam. I think calling you a vlogger is inadequate for what you do - you are a journalist who like a detective follows and observes reality. Thanks to your videos, without moving from the armchair at home, living in a safe country one can experience amazing stories and meet fantastic people. I respect you like no one else on TH-cam. You have balls as big as watermelons. Be safe, greetings from Poland from a loyal fan! Love you!

So incredibly sad for the Haitian people. Praying for change for them and sending much love. Sean is amazing in helping show what's going on in his country. Thank you Nick for bringing awareness for the Haitian people.
Thank you, Jill!

Thank you as always for your words, MrTheLionKing :)
Then she landed back in the United States where our children struggle with sadness and depression, yet have the best of everything.
mrthelionking(name saysitall) be honest same age was u genuine terrified???? soz it's ma wee lassie thats asking
Sean seems like such an awesome dude. Breaks my heart that he and people like him have to live this way.
I'm from england , you're comment is amazing and shows you do really care wish there was more people like you brother 👊🏻❤️🏴
That’s enough to the abuse of humanity in this country you need to stop all this nonsense
why such a beautiful tropical place has to suffer the most this is insane and i will never get it, its hard to see those locals talking and still smiling here and there
Watching this makes me think about how great full I am for what I have. A roof over my head, clean water and access to food. I wouldn’t ever want to go to the places you go but I do have a lot of sympathy for those constantly living there. Thanks for your vids nick

Very calm, understanding, fearless and one with the people. Totally translates to us watching and those you are around in person. 🙏
If everyone knew about Haiti they’d all be sad
There’s no fixing the country no matter the money

Cheers!
in central Florida too (Orlando), including myself. 🇭🇹🇭🇹

Sean your guide is the real MVP of this series, the things he has shown you and us, while also just telling it how it is there despite the clear danger of that he is saying.
Sean is so engaging and informative. So good - almost like he was born to do this.
This Sean guy is amazing! He is the best local guide you have worked with so far. I am watching this one year later and I hope Sean is okay and safe
Absolutely. Sean is the absolute man and I am happy to report that we keep in touch and he is alive and well.

thank you for this video, im from the Dominican Republic and everything that happens in Haiti is really concernig for the whole island.

Sean is right up there with my all time favorite guide you’ve had, which is Lenny from Venezuela. I can see in his eyes when he’s a little worried but he keeps is cool. And he has a great sense of humor despite what’s going on in his country.
your channel has changed (organically) from travel vlogger to journalism, nice ! you are brave i like your videos a lot.

Nick of all the series that you've done I could be wrong but I get the sense this is the one you've been most scared/terrified of? As a viewer it comes across that way. Some amazing work you are doing to show the reality of what is happening on the ground.
