Does this go into sleep mode? Does one have to turn the printer back on physically before printing anything say in a day or 2 later after being left on?

FFS, a copier/printer that won't perform basic copy functions like double-sided unless I have a cellphone and an account?
When you scan (using the printer and issuing the scan command from your phone), is the pdf file I've now created and saved, saved on the computer somewhere so I can find it again? I did a search for my file name that I used, but not finding it on the computer. Is it just saved somewhere on my phone?
It should be in HP Smart app. Look bottom row and click on view & print icon and look for saved files there. File get stored in the App
I used to be able to select page size before scanning (4x6, 5x7, 8.5x11, whole flatbed) Can I still do that with this printer? Also once i scanned I was able to edit what I had scanned before saving ot as a PDF or Photo, Can this still be done??

I have the envy 6055e. Does it have a sleep mode? can it turn on automatically if I need to print?
Yes it has slepp mode and it must wake up itself when a print is send.

The power light starts to blink or it may get dim. In setting in your laptop or in HP Damrt app you may have option to change sleep setting.

How do I scan without doing it wireless. I have usb cord hooked up to my chromebook, but can not figure out how to scan a document and put into my files. please help
You have to add printer by going to setting or with hp smart app.
Hi, I was able to scan through my phone just like you show on this video and now I am trying to scan a document and it is not allowing me to do so now through the scan icon on the app. I've already checked that the printer is connected to the wifi and I have also deleted and downloaded the app again and added the printer again. It is still not allowing me to use the printer/scan icon on the app. Infact now a message comes up saying that this feature is not supported by the selected printer. Is anyone having this issue and if so how can I fix it because I know its capable of it since I've already scanned many documents by doing it just like in this video.
Some times HP asks to create account to use all features. But try to install again after deleting from app. It should work.

I bought this printer th-cam.com/users/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 to replace an aging HP printer. It is just used for casual home printing so I don't need anything more. Installation went easily though the HP Smart Printing doesn't work well with our laptops - having to select the actual device. Will have to see how the HP Instant Ink program works out. Plus haven't been able to set up printing from smartphone yet - either direct or WiFi
Can the printer size be changed with this printer? I want to print at 84% and can not find anywhere how to do this?? Does anyone know how to do this with this printer?

The description on the website that I purchased this printer from says " 100- page auto document feeder." So was that a lie?
I am not sure as I do not have this in the stock. But if its says on website then it should do that.
@@CopyPrintScanChannel It doesn't and I have too many multi-page documents to have to scan them one page at a time. HP Envy does sell a multi-page scanner, but this one wasn't it.
The one w the automatic feeder is called HP ENVY PRO 6455
after I added the printer it just say thanks for waiting and takes forever and still same thing.

How to correct erreur where
How can I scan multiple pages (.pdf) and put them into 1 document (.pdf) file? I know you have to scan each page individually but is there a way to combine them into one page (pdf)?
I would like to know the answer too.
After scanning the first page select the + ADD PAGE at the top right of the PC screen. Place the next page on the scanner and select SCAN at the lower right of the PC. Repeat for each page. Select SAVE when done. I was about to return my 6055 because I could only scan PDF's in Greyscale or Color selections and there was no Black option like on all my previous scanners. Greyscale creates large files compared to when you only need black for text. HP chat support was no help. I finally found that "HP Smart" seems to use a basic driver and by going to "HP Easy Start" on the HP 6055 page you can install the "full feature" driver that enables Black and Autodetect Color in addition to the basic Grey and Color.
@@jimstone1226 Do you know how to rotate a scanned document? The only feature is to edit with no option to rotate..

How do you find the password? I have been stressed trying to connect and I cannot get it.
You need ro print the password to know it.
Im pretty sure you need to put the password of your WiFi at home not the password for the printer itself. To connect printer to your WiFi you need to use your home WiFi password.
Wait? What password for the printer? I never got one!
Its printers password and its different for each printer.

This printer sucks big time. Doesn't work with an HP Chrome book. Stupid lights. Etc. Went with Epson 3820 for $20 more

6458 Warning - Danger - Danger!!!! Worst printer ever don't buy!!! Never EVER works without unpluging and plugging back in - Goes through ink cartridges after about 20 pages Cannot copy multiple pages of anything. Gets paper jams all the time. Plus you have to set up an account to be able to scan or print... So HP Can see what you are copying or printing. I have had cheap printers before but at least they worked for a while.
