Today I was feeling very down, I didn't understand why things were falling apart when all I did was pray and worship with a pure heart,but as I was listening to this...God revealed to me how I didn't have faith in Him...how when things didn't work out at the time I wanted them to I'd get discouraged and lose all hope in Him. But I'm coming back to you Oh Lord, firmly rooted and established in faith...I'm sorry for ever doubting you, I'm sorry for not fully trusting in you.
this is exactly me right now, feeling down and wondering why God was "letting me" feel this way, and I realized that I lacked faith. I lost hope and refused to move forward in most things that I know I should be doing. I'm coming back to the Lord.

I was woke up this morning then I saw this song. This Morning here in the Philippines August 17 is my birthday, then while I listen to this song I realize How God defending me through all the problems, storms of my life, works of the enemy but all of this doesn't put me down because God gave me Victory for all of this He is my Great Defender. :)

@@dariosanchez667 In the Bible, David did this to Goliath. The lyric doesn't mean that literally, it's a symbol of victory, as happened to David, who glorified God by defeating Goliath, whom "defied the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel." (1 Samuel 17:45). Hope I've helped!
@@dariosanchez667 ☝what Ana said. The song is referencing the old testament where the Israelites stood still and saw the deliverance of the Lord from their enemies. It just so happens that a sign of victory back then was bringing back the head of the enemy, which you can see in several passages throughout the old testement.

Really thankful to this song as I am always reminded God will always be my Defender. I am attending law school since 2015 and every enrolment has been very difficult because everytime there are oppositions like finances and work schedules but I kept on fighting as I know and believe in my heart that this is God's dream for me. I started a journal recently, putting thoughts on the page and let Truth speak to it, and this has been exactly my experience. God defends my heart. I am heard, I don’t need to fight to be heard.

When I stray from my Church I never really know why. I was baptized in water on my own accord and the loving support from the most amazing Pastor's and church body, it was so much more meaningful because I was baptized as a baby and went to Church and CCD classes for year's and really didn't learn anything, now after only 6 year's as a Born Again Christian I got to know Jesus on a personal level like a knew friend and my defender. So this song really speaks to my heart. No matter what I do or how long I stray I know the Grace of God and my intimate relationship with his Son they will never give up on me. Thank you Jesus for all you went through to save me from my sins and thank you for this song that reassures me that you are my greatest defender and will never leave me. Even when thing's look really bad I know I will prevail in you're time not mine, it may take some praying over and over but you're always there to lift me up and to answer my prayers, when it seems like all hope is gone you show up and never let me fall as long as I trust and believe in you I know you are my greatest defender and for that I bow down to you and know everything will be ok.Sorry everyone this was supposed to be short and sweet but I needed to get this out and now I will look back and use this as a testimony and prayer. Glory be to God and his precious son Jesus Christ's love is flowing through me and I just can't stop writing on this platform. The entire day I had been sad and just wept (or at least most of the time), but at that point of time I got tired of being sad and in my mind I prayed: "Father, give me a new song."
A few moments later I felt the desire to sing, so I changed the room and the result was the spontaneous song "Alleluia, for the Lord our God".

This song has been ministering to me powerfully for the last 5 days. I was sick with COVID and locked down with fever, aches, chills, and headaches for about 4 days. It showed me how frail I am and how frail my faith is. He showed me how his faithfulness is not based on mine. Rather, He picked up the pieces and put me back together, yet again He put me on the Solid Rock after feeing lost, distant from Him. I was in the wilderness but from there He rescued me. There’s nothing like His unconditional love.

I love this song with a burning passion. And mainly it’s because of the line “You come back with the head of my enemies.” Hear me when I say this but that line means so much. Not only is that phrase biblically correct (due to the story of David and Goliath) but it’s powerful. Worship songs today all have one main issue : they praise the pleasant things of the Bible. They don’t praise the parts of the Bible that are graphic or hard to hear for some. God commands us to read His Word and worship Him and Him alone. Never once did He say to only praise the light and airy and pleasant things. We must read and praise and pray over it all. Including the harsher messages. They show how radical His love is for us. It shows that He would rid us of our enemies to show us how much He did. The story of Jesus dying on the cross is in so many songs, but it’s romanticized. He died in the most horrific way imaginable, beaten till He bled, bruised until he couldn’t stand, nailed to a crude cross cut from a tree with large and long spikes by His hands and feet. Stripped naked and mocked by all who watched and made fun of until His last breath....... And He would do it again in a heartbeat if His Father commanded because He loves us, because He loves YOU that much. That death is explicitly shown in the Bible and has to be portrayed as such. God gave us His Word to read and abide by, not to exclude from our worship and to edit to make it easier to hear.
